Tire smoke itself. :( If I'm going to make a photomode pic of a car frying its slicks off, I want it to look like the renactment of Gettysburg: You can't see 🤬.

Also having driving aids defaulted to on for every car. This means every time I get in a car I have to go and switch them off. :grumpy: They should be set to 0 as default, and those that need them can turn them on. 👍

real drifting is hard... why not make it hard in a game? it goes against all principles of normal competitive driving...

A. Um....have you ever actually drifted a car before? It's not that hard, especially compared to GT4's über-countersteer, floaty, awkward drifting physics... :yuck:

B. It may go against the principles of racing, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't, can't, or shouldn't happen. :rolleyes: Drifting is simply a loss of control manifested in the form of oversteer. Take that away, or make it harder than it should be, and you've got either control, or understeer...wow, what fun... 💡

Yeah. The tire smoke of those cars are so >FAKE<. They look like the smoke from a frying pan...it last for litke 2 seconds then - buh bye! Back to the point...PD in a way '' rushed '' this game because of money[Of course, who wouldn't] So they left alot of stuff out. But the penalty thing and some tire marks would make this alot better. Along with my other 1000+ complaints :sly:
 
The AI is horrible, and there arent enough race series. Bugger the manufactueres series I want another hall of different races, prefereably all stock production cars.
 
i want more endurance races. i want a race that i can drive the spoon fit race car in. that car is sweet! nice, slow, great on gas and tires. i just cant use race slicks in most enduros

i hate that i cant use race slicks in more races.

there are no ferraris because of licensing.
 
Another disappointment was when they put the Ford Modle T in the game and tho's other one's that are from like the 1800's when they could of put something way better than tho's car's. 👎
 
I think for me the biggest and only real disapointment of the game (aside from the AI which i knew was gonna be very ordinary) was the camera kitter ... which is in my opinion something that should never have been left in the master. Its the sort of bugs you want out at all cost (even tho its not a crash or whatsnot). Especially since it happens soo often.
 
1) Can't use your garage cars in arcade mode. 2) Family Cup races are only 2 laps long.

There is no way use YOUR car in races where you can select a difficuly level and a race length.

3) It would be nice to be able to create your own championships too. TOCA allows this.

How can you hate those cars?? They're awesome! The only disappointment with those cars is that PD, for some ******* dumb reason, decided to include them, and then not let us drive them!! :irked:

Quite agree that they do deserve to be in the game, but as for not being able to drive them?????

Do you mean able to race them?

I can fully understand the limits of the PS2 with regard to redering 6 of them, but not why the Caterham did not get a roof!

Still good fun for hot laps all the same.

Yes, I mean able to race them. Why give us such humourously slow cars, and then not let us race them against anything?? Before the game came out, I was looking forward to a Patent Motor Wagen vs Merc SLR race with a particularly racing-game-inept friend of mine... :lol:
 
i agree with all the complaints, but this game is still far superior than anything else the ps2 has to offer. it does seem that when gt1 came out there were alot of things that needed to be fixed and for the most part they did. each series has improved, minus the ai, but they seem to neglect the complaints that most of us have. i just hope that when gt4 hits shelves in 10 years they will hear all of the complaints and give us the racing game we f...... deserve!

I disagree, but as always I'm in the minority with this. I feel Enthusia is far superior. Sure, GT4 has tons of content that Enthusia doesn't have, but I feel Enthusia has far more realistic physics, and that's what matters to me.

Hmm maybe I should lay off the doobie.

Also the fact that you cant race either the prowler or the Lotus oops Caterham Seven bugs me too. I know the 7 comes with a canvas roof you can put up for rainy days, and I would assume that the Prowler also has a roof.
 
Like everyone else I could make a huge list of things I would liked to have seen included in GT4, but I wouldn't say their absence is a disappointment.

Taken for what GT4 is, rather than what it isnt or doesn't have, the only thing that really disappoints me is the inability to put a supercharger on the Holden Monaro! :mad: :banghead:
 
GT4 isn't the game we were promised by PD. However, for the most part it is a pretty good game.

I was expecting even more refinement. Refinement along the order of GT2 when compared to GT.

We've got all these wonderful historic cars. In GT2 you could click the "i" icon in the garage, and have an information box pop up with the backstory on each vehicle. Even the crappy ones.

The physics for Rally suck. I liked rally in GT2. I came to enjoy rallying in GT3. I suppose that the physics for ice are closer to the real thing. But I live in the boonies in KS. If I want to play in the dirt with my truck I don't have to drive more than a coupla minutes. I feel like the physics of dirt driving are more like actually drivin' in the dirt.
 
I've bought every GT game so I feel entitled to bi!ch about anything I want, but I'll stick to things I havent heard so far....
1. FF cars---160hp cars that CANT, no matter what you do, go full-throttle in 1st gear? come on, & N2's are supposed to be normal, but I can't get any grip in a straight line even with S3's!--I can't even get any grip in 2nd gear with new (DC5) Integras unless im using S3's--S2's do alright once warmed up, but when cold & when old--no grip---just plain dumb
2. FF cars--I can't race anything with FF cars because there arent any comp for FF cars, & tires wear out to frickin soon (aside from horrible traction) & I have to pit every 10-12 laps....note that real-life RSX's & the like go 40 laps(whole Race) In the SCCA races & never pit....so let's fix the tire wear....& have something to race 220-300hp cars against, yeah??
3. A-spec point system--this I forgive because it's new, & I like it....but some races with 120 points are harder than 200 point races....they should give more balanced opponents...
4. SuperGT cars...a racing series where I can race them...without winning by 3 laps...
5. ALMS cars...C5R, Viper GTS-R, Camaro LM car,...& so forth---I want to race them! against something other than the frickin 800+ hp race cars--aka Mazda 787B & Sauber C9...
6. did I mention FF?
7. Rally--I used to love it, not enough of it--now I hate it & hope it dies!---I have watched a bit of Ice Racing---& they seem to think they get more grip on ICE(spikes in tires) & go faster than rally cars on dirt! (apparantly PD disagreed) so I hope they can fix that
8. I'd much rather have anything---above---than all the super-crap cars---Model T, Benz wagon, Fiat crapper, Bug--sorry guys, if I'm racing I want to go fast--at least respectable anyway--1000 miles? no thank you, 25 laps in a 40hp car on a 13mi track sounds like eating 6-week old dead fish to me

Good Things & Explaining
B-Spec--gay in principal, but needed if you must include 3-24hr races a 9hr race & an 8 HR race & 2 4hr races---most people get bored--why? cause it's almost impossible to have a competitive race that's that long...soooo if you keep them, keep the B-Spec

also::: Damage has already been discussed by the creator of GT...he has stated that it won't happen, because GT is about cars & loving cars & he doesnt like seeing them banged up---& said he'd never put it in----sooo I would not expect that...

fact is, PD won't make it perfect yet...why? because they want to improve it every time....guess what PD? youre running out of time...other games are coming out & people like them...these glitches & stupid things you put in games? people don't like waiting 3 years for a flaw--glitched game. but hey, at least they got the 3rd grade math correct this time & we can get 100%!!!----I'm gonna buy enthusia & like it! ha!

I'll just rent GT5 before I buy it....thats sad for someone with probly well over 1000 hrs of Gran Turismo time....heck I might have close to that on GT4 alone--but it just keeps nagging, all these stupid, avoidable, things they screw up

- MANY good American cars missing...
- Better menu/navigation scheme...
- No 1995 Grand Am SEs :lol:
