What is the biggest thread on GTPlanet ever so far?

Is it the 'What are you listening to?' thread on the Music forum?

Or have we had a bigger thread?

It's the "How Many Replies Can We Get?" thread, and it's been locked for about a year now; it was right up there in the Rumble Strip for some time, and had well over 100,000 replies.

Sounds like fun, right? However, it was really just a spam/chat thread, loading times took minutes even on a T1 connection, and lot of people lost interest when threats to delete the entire thread were proposed (as if their post counts weren't high enough already).

Right, now the "What are you listening to?" thread is one of the biggest post-counting threads, but "The Color Blue: An Argument" is far and away the spiritual sucessor to the old HMRCWG thread.

Except posts dont get tallied in "The Color Blue", so one could say it is for true afficionado's

The first few pages of the Color blue are probably the most awesome posts ever posted ever. And the first post is used to log Dougs various automobiles.

Wow. I just looked at the post counts in HMRCWG, and look at this. If that thread were deleted, there would be a huge change in the post count of a lot of people.

That is why the post counter in the members page is a bit meaningless. Remove HMRCWG posts and Colour Blue posts and some of those guys will have nay 2000 posts to their name.

if you look at the forum's post count, it's reaching a million. can you guys think of any forum that *could* qualify as record breaking? there *might* be one that comes relatively close i use for various download purposes that's been around for years and years...but they've had 1 or 2 server resets too. At the moment, they're only like 5000-6000 posts away from the million mark

No. There will not be another thread the size of HMRCWG, that's for sure.
