I don't want a used car, I want a new car for the warrenty issues and what not. If pre-owneds came with the same kind of warrenty I would consider them but I don't think they do...maybe I'm wrong?

.

I know you have your reasons....but look into CPO vehicles...because I think they may have a warranty seeing as the dealership is "certifying" that its a good car I would think that they would back it up with a warranty. Its worth a look because you might be able to get into a car that was 35k+ new. Its worth looking into.

how the crap did this slide by me dude, my brother has one...lol

Best luxury sports car for the money.

3.2 TL Type S

You can find this car fully loaded with an Alpine supplied Acura Navigation system, bose sound system, Onstar, integrated car phone(built into the rear view mirror) leather bucket seats and a 3.2 liter vtec V6 for under 22,000. Since its a 2003 they should still have at least 2 years and 20k on the warranty. Either way bro, NOTHING will break in this car, its a friggin honda. And the stuff that does (Tranny, timing belt tensioner) are recalled and will be replaced for free and the labor should also be free. Seriously, this car is super luxury for its price bro, my dad had one and how hes rocking an '05 LS430. He loved the TL and even said he'd take it any day over a BMW or MB.

Like I said the GTO is going to be to hard on my insurence.

The 9-2X is a WRX but honestly its a lot nicer inside, plus its a Saab, I mean come on thats a status symbol right there .

Dude, I've driven the 9-2 X...it's so fantastic. Since it is basically a WRX that's a bonus in my opinion. And it being a Saab the interior is better and more "soft" which is what you want for a family. If you can get one for less than $24k then go for it. I hope the new Grand Prix are more reliable than the previous gens...I know 3 people after 75k miles they were falling apart in the interior and seemed ragged out--even though they were all adults over 35.

I know you have mentioned you wanted a new car for the warranty but that got me thinking. The few new used vehicles I bought came with full 3 year warranties. You can get even higher if you want like a 5 year. SO if you are worried about a warranty that isnt a problem at all and you can save a lot of money getting a used vehicle instead of a brand new one.

Like somepeople have said warranty isnt a issue. Most manufactures do 3 years for near new cars and you can buy even longer warranty at extra cost. Most porsche 911 owners buy extra warranty after their first 3 years due to RMS.

Serioulsy you should let someone else take the depreciation hit and you can get a better car for your money or save about $2grand all for a car with about 3-8 thousand miles on the clock.

Careful there YW!:D
I've been married for 22 and a half years, and I'm 41.
Do the math on that one.

You were a young'un. :D Not much older than me, now.

There have been some good suggestions in here. Good luck finding the car you want! Personally, I think I'd go for the Sabb 9-2x. 👍

Depreciation isn't something Americans are worried about. And I know people in the UK (and EU) don't drive that many miles but Americans do, you will almost never find a car/truck used with less than 10k miles on the clock. Even my 2004 Focus had 9,540 miles on it and it was a demo. Since you don't live here let me inform you on a little tibit of informatin: Americans drive 10-25k miles a year--with the average being 15k miles per year. In 5 months I put 13k miles on my 3000GT VR4 when I had it.

That Audi would OBVIOUSLY cost more than $27k USD. He lives in the US and works for GM try and suggest something that he can get in both locale and cost.

I'm going to be driving a lot more now to since me and the girl are looking at getting a house in East Lansing once I graduate since she's staying at MSU for med school and what not. The family lives well in Lake Orion where I live, about 90 miles and I am a family man.

I'll check CPO cars and see what I can get out of them, since I have all next week off I'm going to go shoping.

The thing about CPO cars are that you cant really shop around....you cant pick the color or options you want...not a bad thing IMO, it makes the purchasing process faster. ( If I see something I want I will buy it) but some could make a fuss about it...Ill bet you could get a certified/warrantied car like a G35 sedan, A6 or something like that...then you can trade it in after that warranty is up in a few years without feeling the BIG hit of a new car and no matter what, you are in a safe car that is still aftermarket friendly. 👍

I'd look at a Legacy, too. I was very impressed at just how nice they are. List starts at around 28, I'm sure you could get it down a decent amount. I'll bet you could find a good deal on a new '05, too.

A Forester? Hmmm I don't know, its a station wagon, but then again it could also be considered and that LL Bean edition looks sweet.

The 2.5 XT is the one you want (obviously). You'd be surprised on how much like a car it rides and handles...not to mention it's not slow. The Saab 9-2X would probably be your best bet, when you find out post how much you'd get it for for a good model. I'm curious...

- I'm not opposed to any brand, but remember I get the GM discount, so its going to take some convincing me not to go for a GM product. Even though my internship is up in December at GM and I'm not going back, my family still gets the discount with other family members.

I refuse to drive anything from the Chysler Corporation, I hate the way everything of theirs looks.
Nice. :sly:
Anyways, I've said it before to others (countless times) and I'll say it again. Volvo. S40.

And that is that . Or, spring for a Saab 9-3. Same thing, really. Saabs just break (slightly) more frequently. It will probably cost less if you get a discount on it, though. Subaru Legacys are nice choices as well.

Forester's a great car, I've heard nothing but good about them. It's a little SUV-ish by my personal standards, but I'd still drive one, which is saying a lot.

FWD doesn't bother me at all, I don't care beacuse I'm not going to race it. I might just want to throw some rims on the car and maybe some other things, but I'm just going to mod it slightly.

I'd say a 9-3 is a great car, my mom has one, and it's never given her a problem. Even though it's the 170 horse version, it still has plenty of pep. Plus, the fact that they offer the 9-3 with a 250 horse V6 (I think) and you'd get a discount makes it an even sweeter deal.

With chilluns' in the future, the saab's safety is also a huge plus.

Hope you pick what YOU want, and that you enjoy it. 👍

I actually think I'm going to check out a Colorado Xtreme as well, now that they have worked the bugs out of the truck it really isn't all that bad. Plus its still an Xtreme.
