not sure if this has happened to anyone else and don't get worried well get worried one of the cars i have has blown up the engine. HELP PLEASE!!! :scared:

You have probably run out of fuel or your controller is broken - the engines (unfortunately) do not blow up.

I am kinda confused. First of all though, engines do not blow up in GT4. When you run out of gas, I hear you go down to 50mph as a constant speed. Do you mean the PS2 has blown up?

well it's the Dodge Viper GTS and it's exhaust note is totally gone and only goes to to second gear on automatic and only goes 70mph now yea thats good for Sunday Drive but this is about racing. Anyways the viper is no longer working properly

ok you people don't read well The Dodge Viper GTs 99' I believe does not work right so let's see if you understand this

so the rest of your cars work fine?
how many miles have you done in the viper?
have you ever changed the oil?
did it always do this?
how do you drive it?

what we need from you is what you have done that may have made this happen.
do you jusdt stick it in 1st gear and do doughnuts and burn outs for hours on end?
when racing do you bounce the needle off the rev limiter all the time?
do you crash lots?

see none of us have ever seen this happen, so you to give us as much info as posible so we can try to put the pieces together and maybe try to replicate the situation so we can tell whats wrong.

Sounds like it's out of fuel to me. possibly a glitch? The game running the "out of fuel" sequence when your not really out of fuel. What are your units of measure set on? are you sure thats not 70 kph. What is that in mph, is it about 50?

Now, now. Be nice.

you probably tuned it up to much, that happened to me too just go to the AUTO GEAR thing in transmission and put it all the way to 20 should work fine then

i don't wreck i,ve changed oil when needed i,ve put the racing chip on (only mod) i,ve raced it alot it has 300,000 miles on it currently (has full tank of gas and everything needed for a proper running vehicle).

well if youve messed around with a the transmission you might have ****ed it up but other then that i think its a glitch

300,000 miles!!!? Holy Obsesive Compulsive Viperfan Batman?!?!

Time to give the old girl a rest and get a new one I think. You are probably the first to rack up that many miles so perhaps they do eventually die.

Edit: You are playing GT4 I assume.

BTW: See the little EDIT button at the bottom of you're last post - you can use it to add to your last post :)

Edit: I just did a couple of calcs - I have never seen a used car with more than 70,000 miles on the clock (might be there but I havn't seen one). The gane has been out in the states for 100 days [yes, today is its 100 days since release in the US  ] so if the first bit is true you would have to be clocking up over 2000 miles per day - I stand by my original statement.

Edit: I just read your last post - so that would be 3000 miles per day (I think I smell a rat) - if you have the Japanese version then it would be 1500 miles per day.

GT4 did come with 700 other cars you know.
Why 300,000 miles on the one car. You must play day and night non stop.
When you finish the race what is the HP of the car showing.
For that distance at 200 mph average you have spent the last 63 days driving non stop.

Post a pic of the Cars odometer as proof and also a pic of the HP reading.

B-Spec, Test Course, 3X speed...? If that is the case...WHY?!

yeah I'd like to see that too1

300,000 miles... hmm.

like above, post a pic of odo and HP
btw what is your current HP?

Hey man i have heard that they were going to have the engines fail or blow up in GT4 it was in an early edition of the official PS2 Mag, Not sure if they finalised it maybe your the first to find out...... but damn good on ya for rackn up 300,000 miles!!!! will have to look into this more.....

Well, I'll try to do this too... since I have a 3 year warranty on my PS2, might as well attempt to kill it.

300,000 miles? In real life that car's tranny would be about ready to fall out. This is in GT3 mind you but I had a C5R and at 3,000 miles I started to lose horsepower on it. Sorry to say but you are going to have to sell it or keep it and buy a new one my friend. :)

at 541 miles my Audi TT Touring car was ruined... poor accelaratin was driving like it was on worn out tires. a real shocking mess.

Maybe the chassis rigidity (spelling?) refresher can help you here. Can't speak from personal experiece as I've never used it myself, but I'm sure someone else has.

As for the 300,000 miles - Has anyone heard of anyone else doing that many? This could be a legitimate problem with the car, but I won't be in a hurry to rack up 300,000 in any of my machines. Please try it in your cars though, and let us know the results... :)
