Voted. M3 (E30) should definitely be a part of Gran Turismo. Enthusia Professional Racing managed to have one and that was back in 2005, so it is not impossible.

But I think number of likes are bit excessive in relation to other good suggestions here. Why for example, Clio Williams, Lancia 037 or Escort / Sierra Cosworth aren't that voted, yet they are as valuable as M3 (E30) or even more ?

Because it happens to be the more popular suggestion.

BMW M3 (E30) - Wiki article

Production Years: 1985-1988
Original Spec: 197hp, 1200kg
Noteworthy Related Models: Evo 2 (1989-1992, 217hp), Sport Evolution (1990, 235hp)
Related Suggestions: BMW M3 (E30) Sport Evolution 1990, BMW 333i (E30) 1985, Alpina B6 3.5S 1988

A car that was infamously the most-requested automobile on the old Feedback portion of the site, I figured it should be put up ASAP, and get the whole show out of the way now ;).

If I had to choose, I'd say give us the original (de-catted for the full 197hp), but the other models listed above wouldn't require much extra work at all, honest. Now, about those DTM cars... :D

The 1985 BMW M3 E30 high performance sports car was the beginning of the evolution.

I would love to see this car in GT but I to do not understand what makes this car so popular, can somebody please inform me? I tried asking on a YouTube once, didn't go well.

Homologation specials are always...special. Back when M-division cars were hand built and designed for racing. Compare the ethos of the E30 versus the E9x or F3x versions and you'll see the focus on being quickest on the track rather than luxury and tech.

The M3 was brilliant on both track and rally stages and the road car version was considered one of the best handling cars of it's time as a result of that.

People love M cars and the M3 is one of the most highly regarded badges in the car industry, this is Genesis, the first and the most special.

Plus IMO it looks sublime, especially in Sport Evolution spec.

How to say,
Everybody have different tastes for food for beauty and many other things...
M3 E30 was a wonderfull car,nothing overrated.
In Europe it still known as a great car,in rallye it won a lot,and you still see M3 E30 in groupe F.
For purist,the M3 E30 is the real M3...

You do not like it... ok no problem, but you cannot consider your opinion as the main one.

If so many people want it,ask yourself!
There must be a reason to that.

Have you heard his 4 cylinders engine in a rallye?
Pure music believe me.

There "might" be a chance for the iconic M3 to appear in Gran Turismo:

GTPlanet: Away from VGT, how do you decide which cars you want to put into a Gran Turismo game?

Yamauchi: Firstly we get the news of new releases and new designs that auto makers are working on. Then there’s cars that have historic importance which takes some research on our side. There’s also cars that go on the forums – top 30 or top 50 lists – and we kind of balance between them all.
