Body modding, custom tuning and GT5...

[b

Imagine being able to do that to ANY car in the game! Licensed tuners who tune your cars power like no other tuner does. Actual decals on your car when you choose them as a tuner! Taking your beat up used car, and playing with wings, grills, lights, neons, darkened glass, paint, custom paintjobs, custom tuning and NOS, until your ride frightens the AI into crashing at every corner!
[/b]

they aren't crashing cause theyre scared, they are just laughing tooo hard to drive.

I was laughing when I read some posts saying that neon is no-no in gt5... guess what.... they were in GT4 :embarrassed:
zAhoZsOz.JPG

Those neons weren't a modification. They were standard on that particular car, and only that one.

Wow the weeaboos are in full force tonight. Im guessing the GT playlist is in need of some trance, eurobeat, METAAL and Linkin Park too. And don't forget to make random references to Pokemon and related shows.

Is the new slogan going to be "Livin' life one quarter mile at a time" and "too soon junior"?

i think gt5 should bring the racing modification back or something similar.

If they want to do street racing cars, they should make a new game completely and dominate the NFS series.

I would love to see functioning aerodynamic parts like spoilers, bumpers, skirts, lips, bonnets, and wide body kits.
Not NFS style, but something subtle so your car stands out.
A paint shop would be awesome too.

I don't think it will ever happen. If they want to stay true to the series, the only thing I would agree on is OPTIONAL lip kit, from factory, but most important is visual inhancements whenever modifications are bought. IE: Full racing exhaust....
They just might surprise us and bring back the racing modification! Never know.

Custom Wheel Size and Offset!! I'm sick of putting 7 inch wide Wats on my 86. Custom interiors would be great with the new cockpit view. I want to be able to paint my car after I buy it. Well-known body kit manufacturers is a must for AE86 (J Blood, Good Line) and Nissan enthusiasts. I want to hear and see my visible modifications such as exhaust systems, ITBs, etc. When I strip my interior, I want to see and hear the difference. Before I get my body restore, I want to hear my car squeak. Suspension shouldn't have to be in such big kits. When you get cams, you should be able to adjust the duration and such. Known Engine swaps would be nice too. I'm not talking about an RB26 into a Civic. Seems like a lot, but it could be done.

Im trying to figure... is this the anti ricer vs those that understand racing and know what body modifications do to make a car faster.

I hate to break it to you "im jdm tyte yo cause i keep it clean" crowd but guess what?

Body mods are important in tuning a car and motorsport.

1. Lips and splitters
2. Rolled Fenders and Wheel arches
3. Custom aero and widebodies
4. Diffusers and underbody mods
5. wings and spoilers (there is a difference)
6. Carbon Fiber (DRY OR COLORED)
7. Many many more.,

All these things have a purpose. They make a car faster... that's all there is to it and if you don't get it, then your the ricer.

When it comes to a Na miata , if i buy it like this...

I want the ability to make it in to this.....

Ain't that just silly, big rear spoiler in a ff car, just slows you down.Thats why its necessary to have pre tuned cars!A lot easyer.

All I want is the ability to change the colour of my second hand cars, rim size (with in reason) and I'm happy. Racing body kits and a paint shop whould be nice but I don't need them. As for neons and vinyls and all that need for speed stuff all I can say is why?

Your profile says your a new member.... I'm guessing that equates to your horrible knowledge of cars or anything about them.

Let me break it down for you.

I'll start like this, that "FWD".......is a RWD Mazda Mx-5 Miata.....

You know, the one where the drive wheels are in the back?

Then this statement you seem to be so confident about.

"big rear spoiler in a ff car, just slows you down"

Wow! Have you ever actually watched real racing? I mean are you really telling me that any FWD car that has a spoiler is just there for show?

Do you realize that a FWD car can experience oversteer just like a RWD car.

Whether under turn-in into a corner, or under hard braking. That spoiler pushes the back end into the ground.

So basically with your genius idea, cars like:

Civic Type R, Integra Type R, Chevy Cobalt SS, SRT4, FTO, Eclipse, Tiburon, Lancer, Saab 9-3, Celica GTS, Fiat Coupe, Focus, Mazda 3, Mini Cooper, ECT...

Have spoilers for absolutely no reason? Really? Wow.

Anyways lets look at the World Touring Car Championship....

With FWD cars such as the:

Accord Euro R, Chevrolet Lacetti, Toyota Corolla T-Sport, Alfa Romeo 156 Gta, SEAT León

All these cars are FWD and have big spoiler....are they being slowed down by their wings? No they go faster round the track.

another example is the time attack FWD cars from Japan. Big wing = faster time.

Yellow Factory's EG6 can lap Tsukuba in 1 min 2 secs, that's the same amount of time a new GT-R can.

And last.... "Thats why its necessary to have pre tuned cars!A lot easyer"

I'm assuming your just incompetent to tune a car?

That's how you learn, it's a SIMULATOR not some crap arcade game, Just cause your admitting to the fact your too stupid to make a car shouldn't ruin it for the rest of us.

I'd love to have bodymodifications on GT, as long as it is realistic enough to represent the benefits and compromises from real life.

Take for instans the front bumper. Not many cars original front bumpers will fit a big front mounted racing intercooler, realisticly you would have to remove this or replace this with something that fittet. Then we could talk about down force benefits, either with an adjustable lip, or allowing more amount of air passing through to a raplaced hood with downforce thingies (sorry about that one, went totaly blank here) on it. Added air for enginecooling, (hot engine=less power) increase air for the air filter would give a hint of extra needed power and so on. Comprimises come in at extra added weight and so on.
Hoods can have some of the same benefits, along with redused weight and a romier hood with the ability to put bigger engine parts, (carboraters, turbos that have to be mounted on top of manifold instead of under due to space and so on)
Sidescirts to reduce drag and so on.
Wings that would reduse drag at the cost of downforce and vice versa.
Well you get the point. (I hope)

Same goes for rims and rim sizes.

Second of all, GT has become a visual game, and I think that photomode is the best arguement for that.

And I wouldn't be worried about the game turning arcadie like NFS or Midnight Club, PD is known for purisme and they could make this work at a realistic angle.

Am I way of on these ideas?

YOOOOO Thas what im talking about son I bought all my parts from the gas station:sly:(sarcasm)

Yes the text is small theres nothing I can do. Maybe it can be part of the joke... lol

(sarcasm)... Accept the "gouge my eyes out" part that guy is serious... :l

I did like the way you could strip out the cars on GT1 and they would turn into a racing version. That was pretty cool.

If they threw that option back in I would be well happy.

The BTCC car is a bad example, the rear wings on thoes in current spec don't actually provide any downforce, they are there for show and only for show. The rest of your post however is pretty accurate and rear wings on FWD cars can help in a big way and in plenty of racing series they do, but not BTCC ;).

Well, maybe they stabilize the car at high speeds, but no downforce.
Wouldn't stabilising the car at high speeds require downforce. Either way, the rules are quite specific that the reat wings are non-funcional and only serve one purpose, which is to make the cars look more exciting. I don't really want to go into this because it will sound like I'm dissagreeing with motorminded when in fact I'm not, a rear wing can be very useful on a fwd car.

Ain't that just silly, big rear spoiler in a ff car, just slows you down.Thats why its necessary to have pre tuned cars!A lot easyer.

Wings add downforce. Downforce adds grip. Adjusting grip levels front and back can improve handling. Improved handling is a good thing. It doesn't matter if the car is a front wheel drive, rear wheel drive or if it has 5 wheels with the wheel in the middle the drive wheel!

The wing adjustments are different depending on where the drive wheel(s) are and/or car weight balance and a bunch of other factors, but having adjustable wing balance to change grip levels is a big advantage.

Well I suppose if they're slicing flat then the air is just holding the rear in place instead of pushing it down....but that's just my theory.

If the spoiler is doing nothing but slicing flat, than it is not getting the rear end more stable. You need to push air up (and rear down) in order to get the car more stable.
