Body modding, custom tuning and GT5...

Since you get a new paint color with every car that you win (and can therefore paint other cars with it) do you think that the racecar liveries will count as "paints"?

I hope so; me want Fiat 500 in Escudo colours! :D

That is sad... So no rims for the Supra, the 3000GT, the Tommy Kaira ZZII, the Bugatti Veyron, the 700+ cars that are also standard... THE 700+ CARS?!?!?!?!?!

If not for download-able content on the PS3, then I would be upset about this. But I'm not, cause I only anticipate the ability to update the game with new code to allow the feature. Eventually, all cars will be Premium. We had this feature in GT4, it's rather stupid to think that at no point in time will PD give us wheel options on standard cars.

I wonder if there is another place where you can get wheels besides GT Auto? I'm sure that's the place, but what about the garage? What about the tuners? Weve seen in the past that tuners like HKS or Blitz had parts for sale in their respective shops. Not sure if there will be 'wheel shops' but the video didn't show any type of specific wheel makes, just different designs. To me if that's complete, it's not even rivaling what GT4 had. I find that funny. From these videos so far I think it's hard to judge what the hell we'll get.

I'm curious too if that's our only wheel outlet. Seeing as how rim swaps are a Premium-only affair, I was hoping for at least a return of Today's Special, so I could, say, put some ZR1 rims on a Camaro or something. The wheel selection does look smaller than GT4's, but on the plus side, it's listed a few makes already, some of which are new to the series. Which leads me to believe we finally have a new wheel lineup for the first time since GT2 .

Does it mean we can buy external mods parts according to these pictures? Or are they just pre-tuned cars by Gran Turismo? Normally, the R33's front bumper lips supposed to be black just like this one.

You can get front bumpers, skirts and rear wings for all premium cars I assume, along with bonnet replacements. Carbon or body colour
This is all seperate from race mods

Wishful thinking imo. & I'm a GT fan...

I have a basis for that wish though. GT4 had it, so why take it away completely....no what I mean? If they were doing away with this and only for Premium cars Period from this point forward, I'm sure there will be a lot of people asking why....Me being one of them. So, I only foresee it being re-implemented in a downloaded update at some point in time.

Because they will have to remodel all the wheels? The wheels are upgraded on the standard models to accept PD's tire physics.

Only if we can get a video of some one attempting to race modify a car that is not on that rm list. Even try a standard car. IF standard cars can be race modded, I would try the JZA80 Supra first as it would be bound to have the option. Hopefully someone comes out soon from playing the game nonstop in fetal position from advanced excitement and posts a video
Im also intrested in the tuning possibilites in this car, since it one of toyotas most epic sports cars, and very popular, hence no premium :(. I hope you can tune it to 800-900 hp though :)

I know it is kinda late to ask, but can you do modification on standard cars like additional spoilers, paint, engine power, bumbers, aero dynamic, etc?

So it means that it is just the Rims that cannot be modified for standard but other than that, they are the same with premium regarding performance and aesthetic modification?

By the way, just imagine the X1, which is already a monster, can still be modified to make it more powerfull. Wow nothing can beat that. And how about the tiny Fiat 500F '68 upgraded to 1000hp, hehehe!

I think with standards, you have to treat the whole car as 1 big unit, including the wheels, so I think you can't modify any existing parts on the car, only add additional. Like for example the wing on the civic, it doesn't change any of the parts, it just attaches a wing to the exterior.

While the premiums have front bumpers, skirts, rear bumpers and rear wings and all that, I wouldn't expect the standard cars to have anymore modifications available then they had in GT4. Which would mean adding the rear wing only.
And I can't see PD bothering to model a view hundred bumpers and whatnot for the standards.

I'm looking forward to seeing the selection of aftermarket body parts for the premiums, though.

Seriously I now doubt Standards receiving rear wings. :indiff:

I think PD should release updates of most or some standard cars, allowing us to have a cockpit view & be able to change & add modification mods to your car.

And you think they can do all that overnight? Or that it's so easy they haven't done it so far cause they're lazy? At this point, I think they need to concentrate on GT6.

I'll admit that it's pretty bad when the cars have aweful wheels to start with like the civic above. Other than that the GT4 solution wasn't brillian anyway.. still would be nice to do the same but with higher resolution wheel textures.

What I really wanted was to be able to change the wheel size, width, offset and choose different faces for certain rims (deep dish, concave spokes, high brake clearance etc.). I know that's a lot of detail, but really to be realistic once they have all cars premium it should require you to change some wheels before you can upgrade brakes or move to race tyres. On top of this you should at least be able to change the size and width of the wheels within a range which brings benefits (grip, traction, steering response, brake clearance, tyre flex) and negatives (weight, lack of tyre flex, less traction off the line).
