Boost: Strong/Weak?

Boost is an odd thing. Either way, weak or strong, boost gives players at the back of the pack to gain some unknown speed. All players have boost, except 1st place I think. The lower position you are, the more boost you have. Think of it as unnoticable nitrous. Boost is usually used in Shuffle races online just to throw in some extra info.

Boost or slipstream? If boost the slower guys can keep up better on strong and have to try alittle harder on weak.
Slipstream, you dont gain as much speed in the slipstream on weak or vice versa.

To give you a good example of it, today I was racing Karts on daytona speedway, and I had a 125 kart which is considerably faster than the 100's, yet, we all finished as 1 group, milliseconds away from each other

It doesnt belong in any serious lobby. (or any in my opinion) but, what can you do.

I'm confused.

Boost is either On/Off
Draft is Strong/Weak

Which are you asking about? You mixed the two....

They must have changed the boost settings. I recall it being Weak & Strong. Now it's On & Off, how strange.

Boost strong is a way for the slow drivers with less driving skills to keep up with fast drivers so they can keep ramming you in the back bumper in every corner. lol

👍

Boost is unrealistic un-GT5 like cheat that makes the slowest/worst drivers faster so that they can crash into those that are fast and drive safely.

Strong/Weak slipstream is what it says; unrealistic/normal slipstream.

A good deal of time it does end up that slower and less skilled players end up ramming the quicker players, though it can be good in the odd races to keep things even I suppose, I don't like it though.

The other day I was 500PP racing on Cote d'Azure in my NSX and was finishing from 10 - 25 seconds ahead in 3 laps; boost turned on and it was narrowed to 2 seconds; sorry but I've taken a good deal of time tuning my car, learning the track and practicing, how is it fair that months of practice is negated by some cheat?

Slipstream as strong is stupidly unrealistic too.

does boost affect your handling while you're catching up?
i.e, does it massage the cars handling as well as it's acceleration.

I accidentally went to a boost-on room and found my car handled differently, but nothing i can quantify.

Don't race in lobbies or leagues with boost on and you won't have to worry about your skill and tune being negated.:nervous:

Plain and simple, boost ruins good racing. I never use it and I will never join a room that is using it.

Boost does give much closer racing, that cant be denied. Its not real racing or skill though, so I much prefer it off. Works better in Shuffle I find.

Boost for an arcade type of game
No Boost for serious racing (League and event)

Both can be fun, totally different but fun.

Boost is either Off, Weak, or Strong. The default setting is Off. Boost does have its uses. For standard clean racing boost should be off. However, for games like dirty NASCAR, dirty or death shuffle, cat & mouse, and last man standing, boost makes it much more fun.

Slipstream is either Weak or Strong. The default setting is Strong. The problem is, when set to Strong, the slipstream is more like a Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner cartoon than it is like real life. The Weak setting is much more realistic. I also think there should be a Off option for slipstream.
