If it was vertical it would be hard to see what you are fighting. If there are any current games that have vertical split screen they need to retire that game asap.

On topic I'm still in pt1 and level 33 due to the side missions.

We use vertical on both BL1 and 2 and find it much better. Horizontal gives us both motion sickness.

New shift codes until 8 CDT
PC: 5bwb3 jwzrs rt3jj btjb3 rrjkh
Xbox: 53ktt ksj5f 36xtf kxtbb xtcrc
Ps3: 53ktt ksj9b 69twb stwbb xtc6b

Edit: more codes coming sometime tomorrow morning. I'm playing coop with my wife on PS3 and it says we both have 4 golden keys. If we use one does it take a key away from both of us or just the person who opened the case? How many items do you receive each time it opens?

The keys are tied to the PSN account, so if you're both on the same account (I don't know if split screen lets you sign in with two accounts) it'll take keys from both of you. Also it's like any other chest, I think, so at the most you could get four pistols or one launcher at the least.

I got 2 pistols in my only time I opened it up. From what I'm hearing is either 2 of something or 1 ar or launcher. But so far it's only purple or blue'

Edit: There will be one more set of codes before shift codes will be done. at lease for the weekend.

Edit2: The codes will go out at 2 pm CT basically a half hour from now

Edit3: Keys have been sent out but it appears that either the code is broken and/or shift is down.

Out of curiousity, I decided to add up my hours for Borderlands 2 and to my surprise I now have 132 hours into this game between 5 characters. :dunce: My highest level character is almost 99% to level 30. My other 4 characters have a variety of levels. Still loving this game and talked another friend into buying it over the weekend. In fact I restarted the campaign 2 more times over the weekend with 2 different people. My favorite character is still the Siren. I love the ability to instant revive other players. And shoot them to regain their health. Even played a game where we had 3 sirens. You could hold enemies in the air until they were dead when you have 3 sirens in the room. Just having a blast with this game. I dont think I am anywhere near beating it with my level 30 character. But I am not in a hurry either. Just taking my time and enjoying the game.

Where it drops depends on where you are located and where you shoot the stupid thing.

I was mostly on the under part near the machines and shooting at it when it gets close.
I have the 360 version.
I have beat the Bunker at least 4 times now and each time it landed in the exact same spot. Didnt matter where we killed it.

I just hit the 132 hour mark last night between 5 characters. I still have not even beat the main campaign yet. My highest character is about 99% to level 30. Talked another friend (hellbilly) into buying this game over the weekend and we had a blast. I have played 2 player, 3 player and 4 player co-op. 4 player co-op is where this game truly shines. Much more challenging, more enemies, and much better loot. Love this game.

Just got boarder lands one lol not even half way through it yet. I came to the party way to late

Well maybe it just hates you then?

Wonder if side missions have to do with any of it?

Absolute sigh. I hate Stalkers and I hate Threshers so, so much. I've just met the first Thresher of True Vault Hunter mode and all I can say is alt-F4 is saving me a lot of money...

Shotgun works wonders for them.

But anyways I finally well not really done with pt1, but should be starting pt2 maybe tomorrow if things don't go as planned as I am thinking of.

I came to that conclusion about when you posted it, but just you wait until you find certain variants in TVH! I use a shock shotgun to take their shields and therefore cloaking away then a fire SMG (just because I found a really nice E-Tech one) or slag weapon plus melee for the fireproof types.

As for Threshers, I haven't found a reliable way of killing them yet, I tend to avoid them at all costs which is fortunately quite easy when playing as Zer0 thanks to Decepti0n. I had to find a co-op lobby full of strangers to beat the first Thresher you find, though, and even then we only managed to kill it because it couldn't kill us all at the same time, but none of us had a particularly fun time with it. I lost about $30,000...

Edit: I bought the soundtrack on Amazon, I'm a sucker for Jesper Kyd, Borderlands and game soundtracks in general. Also the soundtrack is awesome anyway. Bandit Slaughter just started playing, that track from the Bandit slaughter dome quest. I remember playing that then realising how awesome the music was during a brief lull between waves, I'm so glad it's included... Some soundtracks don't have all the music, L.A. Noire's doesn't have the music that plays when you're driving from place to place and that's my favourite bit!

I finally decided to beat the campaign with my main level 30 character. I wont spoil anything but I am really looking forward to my 2nd playthrough since the enemies I believe all start around level 30 from the beginning of the game. From what I have heard it is very challenging. Looking forward to all the new amazing loot. 👍

I dont know how you guys could finish it that early, I'm level 31 I'm not doing any extra exploration and I still have a couple of side-quest to do and some main quest. Never played on multi neither.

I have over 136 hours into Borderlands 2 and just now finally beat the main campaign. Thats not even including the insane amount of side quests I still have to do. I wouldnt say thats anywhere near "early".

I'm talking about early level wise, someone said here that they finished there first play at level 21 which sound crazy to me.

And 136 hours in two week is pretty crazy lol. Wtf I just did the math 136/13 : 10 hours a day. wtf man that's crazy.

Anyone that beat the main campaign at level 21 must have had a level 30 or higher with them to help. No way level 21's will be beating the last main missions or enemies solo. The main enemies are all around level 30 and higher. If they do beat the main campaign with a 21 it will take forever and a lot of death.

As for the playtime. I get maybe 4 hours a day during the week after work. BUT over the weekends I have been pulling 14-18 hours a day on this game. I get a lot more playtime in the fall and winter because I dont work as much and I dont like the cold. 👍 Plus I had last Friday off paid and put in a solid 14+ hours that day too. I wouldnt have anywhere near this much time into B2 if it came out in the summer.

Just wait until you see how much time I put into Halo 4 the first week it comes out. I have that entire week off PAID! :sly:

I finished my first playthrough at level 32, which would explain why I didn't find any decent loot... PT1 tops out at around level 30, you can't find any loot of a higher level than that. Maybe you can if you fight Terramorphous but why you'd want to do that in PT1 and not TVH is beyond me.

Also I did 58 hours in the first week, that's with one day off college and all other days meaning no play until around 6pm until maybe 1am at the latest, with breaks. I didn't get to play much this past weekend because girlfriend. That was enough to get my Zer0 to level 40 and an Axton co-op character to 14 (or was it 16? Or 18?).

You already admitted the one reason you were not finding good loot. You were not checking the machines. Plus you are playing solo. The game even states the more players you have, the better the loot. Even with 2 players the loot can be really dang good. I am lucky if I can play for 15 minutes without finding something better. But again, I always check the machines and I always play co-op. Anyone playing through solo is truly missing out on an incredible experience.
I really got to get this game as Borderlands one was brilliant.
Yes yes you do. Make sure you play with co-op partners for the best experience.

Well I am finally in playthrough 2 but notice one thing that there is no way to change back into playthrough 1 to finish up the quests that I have left, which is 1 dome and the other big one.

Are you sure? I finished playthough 1 last night and I am back at sanctuary with all my side missions still available. Like I never even beat the game. I will confirm this tonight or tomorrow. I went to bed right after beating the main storyline since it was getting late.

No, I mean even the machines (in Sanctuary) weren't going beyond level 30. I have had a bit of a mess around with PT1 since starting TVH (grinding some challenges, mainly) and have not found a single piece of loot beyond level 30 in a vending machine, so that wasn't the reason after all. You've probably noticed that the difference between loot with just one level requirement difference is huge compared to Borderlands, right? So when you're level 32, level 30 stuff just isn't noteworthy. The first green level 32 launcher I found in TVH did over 25k damage, which is more than twice that of anything I saw in my first playthrough. Maybe. I didn't pay much attention to launchers.

Or how about my sniper rifle, I had a green level 37 rifle which did 2929 damage, I just found a green level 39 last night that does just over 5000 and all of it's stats were better than the level 37 except the reload speed which was one second slower. In Borderlands I seem to recall finding a rifle with over 1000 damage being quite a big deal anyway but there's no way the difference would've been as big as that with only two levels between them... Right? Maybe I'm remembering it all wrong.

You have to go to the Change Character screen, click on the one you want to revert back to Normal and then it'll give you the choice of mode.

Well since I made it to Sanctuary bought the rest of my upgrades, well now I just wait on the dlc then to do more.

You can finish your 2nd playthrough and try to get your character to level 50. The 2nd playthrough is when Borderlands 1 and 2 really get insane. The first playthrough is really just a warm up. You will really need co-op players for the 2nd playthrough.

I know that, but I was saying for upgrades. I got 13 eridium left over and I can't buy nothing else.

No way you could finish at 21 unless you had a 50 buddy helping. I finished at level 34 (just!).

Pretty sure Terra is 50 in PT1 anyway so in theory he'd drop the same quality of loot?

Sharky.

He (?) is, but if the vending machines which are supposed to scale to your level top out at 30 in PT1, maybe it's a universal cap so you will never get anything higher. Have any of you guys found any level 31+ equipment in the first playthrough? I'm pretty certain I didn't. It's just a theory anyway, it's not like it matters now though since no one would use PT1 for loot farming once they unlock TVH.
