There are some side quests ones I believe, Called Bandit Slaughter Round 1-5 and I think the other one is Hyperion Slaughter Round 1-5 in the Annex in the Wildlife area.

Oh right, I haven't done them yet. Seeing as I die whenever I look at anything close to my level I'm not exactly bursting with enthusiasm about them...

In other news, Randy tweeted some Shift redeem codes for extra keys, he's @duvalmagic. 10,000 redemptions for each code so be quick, I managed to work out how the Shift thing is supposed to be tied (you have to link from inside the game, not on the site which is what I had done, but if you do that nothing bad happens if you unlink then try again) so now I have three gold keys. Saving them all for level 50!

Oh and there's some news about DLC; four big DLCs covered by the season pass plus smaller DLC in the form of vehicles and characters, if the Mechromancer is well-received, at lower prices. Sounds interesting!

All I know is that the mech that is going to be released is going to be 10 bucks for non-premium users, but I got 2 keys, one of which I will use next level since Im being a TVH doing everything right away first playthrough while I can roll easily on 2nd.

Here's a golden key code, me and my friends tried it out last night and it worked.

KBCJ3-KX9B6-XTBJT-TT33B-C9ZR3

If you're on twitter follow Randy Pitchford ‏@DuvalMagic (President of Gearbox Software), he gave them out yesterday.

That's the one I used, there's codes for PS3 and 360 on his feed too but they only have 10,000 uses each so you need to be quick because I imagine they're close to expiring, maybe. Apparently there were codes for 10 keys but they didn't work, and each only had 1,000 uses.

I checked out the dome last night in the Wildlife area. All the loot there was easily the highest in the game. Especially in the machines.

neema_T,
Have you been checking the machines now? Especially the health machines? They will usually level up according to the highest level mission you have completed in your game. Its based on the hosts highest level completed. If they have completed a level 13 mission, the loot at Sanctuary in the machines will be around level 13. The loot will be better in the dome machines for sure.

MP10,
That code expired.

Im about to hit level 26 and Im still at lease 5 story missions away from completing first playthrough, although I am doing a lot of side/optional quests too.

That code is for the PC version, the other is on the @duvalmagic (Randy Pitchford's) twitter feed. And no, I haven't been checking machines since the shield I bought because I've mainly been mopping up side quests which are below my level, but I will check around when I decide to progress with the story. My co-op Axton is too poor due to a gambling habit, however.

Speaking of being poor. I was with 3 other friends in the Slaughterdome last night and I am not sure if its a bug or glitch or that place is insanely generous. One of my friends ended up with over 100 million in there last night, my other friend ended up with 5 million and luckily I was sill only around $27,000. Thats the first bug I have run into with this game. If that had happen to me I would have just given the money to someone else. I would not want that to happen to me.

They just took their money and kept pulling on the slot machines with it for Eridium and rare weapons. So now that they have all that money they will be less likely to open or care about look or boxes. :indiff:

It's slaughterdome the Gamestop preorder incentive or a part of the game we all can access?

I am pretty sure it is ony the Pre-order bonus. I think there might be some other domes but this one specifically is pre-order only. So far it has the best loot in the game that I have seen. Especially in the machines.

Unfortunately, the domes (the bandit one at least) don't scale to your level, then again I'm not sure why I thought they would. The machines don't either, so that's kind of disappointing... I think level 33 is about as high as you can go in the first playthrough so I'm not hugely surprised that I'm finding a bunch of crap really and I don't think playing co-op would help. That said, I did just get a pretty nice sniper rifle as a quest reward, so that's something I guess. I think the point is I'm not really supposed to have anything better than what I've got because that would just be overpowering, but finding better loot is a huge part of the fun, for me anyway. I think I'll make the effort to finish the game tomorrow night and see how they deal with starting the next playthrough.

Has anyone else got a mission in The Fridge that they can't find? It's the one about a something 'sometimes having a good idea', I can't work out how to start it.

In that case they're missing out on all the best loot! I've never had anything better than a blue out of a one armed bandit and I don't think I've seen anything better than a blue in a machine either, but I seem to recall that being the case in the first game; first playthrough meant not much better than blues in machines but in the second you could get oranges.

Im really slow if y'all are on PT2 or 2.5 already, Im sitting at 28 and still playthrough 1, stupid optional/side quests... So far the only side/optional mission Im having problems is the one in Opportunity where you need to destroy the statues.

That one was surprisingly tough, I wasn't expecting that level of resistance. A good corrosive weapon is a must! I thought you said you're doing TVH mode though? Am I getting mixed up with someone else? I thought that was unlocked after PT1.

I am, and that mission is unlocked when you get to Opportunity, and I am still on PT1.

Also do you get more storage in PT2? since Im just about maxed out on ammo capacity now.

What I mean is how are you doing True Vault Hunter if you have to finish PT1 first to unlock it?

TVH is just another term for New Game+, but some look at TVH has every mission done.

i just beat playthrough 2 and currently lvl 50

this games loot at this lvl is nuts
How the heck did you beat playthrough 2 already within 7 days? You had to be powerleveling somehow. I have over 60 hours into B2. My highest character is only level 25 and I have played this EVERY single day since launch. My friend has had it since the midnight launch, he had the entire week off, played 18 hours straight the first day, then played every day since launch, and he is only level 35. He easily has over 100 hours into this game already.

I have only seen 1 person that is a level 50 on their 2nd playthrough and know I know for sure they hacked or cheated to get there because my friends that were playing with him ended up with a massive money glitch. Not saying you hacked but I cant comprehend how someone could go through this game twice in 7 days without power boosting, cheating, or something. They only way I could see it possible is if you dont work, dont go to school, and play this 16-18 hours a day. Or cheated.

Unfortunately, the domes (the bandit one at least) don't scale to your level, then again I'm not sure why I thought they would. The machines don't either, so that's kind of disappointing... Actually everything does scale to your highest MISSION LEVEL. Not character level, MISSION level. I finished a level 24 mission and now all my loot in Sanctuary and the other new missions is all around level 24 loot.

I just finished the Opportunity level last night for the first time.

I have been somewhat following this thread. I did not play Borderlands, outside of a few hours at a friend's. Is there any need to play the first game?

You'll understand the characters a bit better and get a few of the references, but there's no real need. The story was terrible so there's not a great deal to follow on from, but the various nods to the original are a nice touch that you won't pick up on. Also the game can be found super cheap, especially on PC (GOTY, which is huge, for £5!)... Then again there's no real reason in my opinion to spend time on the original when you could be putting time in to the sequel. Maybe find a Let's Play or read a plot synopsis, I don't know.

In short: no.

neema_t is correct. You dont need to play the first Borderlands at all to appreciate this one. Its way way better than the first. In fac the opening cinema for Borderlands 2 mocks how terrible the story was in the first game. haha

There are quite a lot that beat the game already mostly due to playing 24/7 so it wouldnt be hard to get to 50 in a week

Like I said, they would have to either not have a job, not go to school, boost, or cheat. There is no other way someone would beat 2 full playthroughs of this game in 7 days legit.

There called no lifer gamers I have 20 hours played and just about done with first pt so could no life a weekend and be close to finishing a game easily

Any PC players want this? I've just started TVH and this is now almost useless to me, unfortunately. It's E-Tech, fires three round bursts of two shots each and is very, very nice at the appropriate level.

Edit: I also have a spare Assassin 'Sting Like a Bee' skin.

Edit again: The second playthrough is pretty tough, I died before I even reached Liar's Berg. To be fair I was trying to kill a corrosive Bullymong with a corrosive shotgun and it was doing absolutely no damage whatsoever, but even after that I've run into a Super Badass Bullymong at the electric fence bit, seemed a bit extreme considering how early on it was. I love that instead of just renaming enemies there are actually new enemy types, such as the Armoured Maniac (also known as a Psycho) I just killed. Also I don't know if it's always been the case but the bank and the secret stash are available right at the start, as soon as you get to Claptrap's shack. It might've been there before, I just might not have noticed. I considered stashing some level 30 gear for other characters of mine to get a headstart but... I didn't do that. Too lazy.

I just need to find an e-tech weapon since I guess I sold the one I had Oops... So today will be a borderlands 2 day, going to try to finish up some more side quests if they can stop popping up as I go somewhere new.

For some people yes, for some no lol.

I dont really care about how many as long as I dont know what they are. But that's just me.

But there's quite a lot of them. Some dont even show with the "!".
