Post vids of real races to get inspired and make you wanna play again.

Screw duping, screw XP grinding. Just remember how much fun the racing, or simply the driving is. Weather you prefer online or off.

Isn't this kind of like:

Tired of bland chicken every day?

Post videos of gourmet meals to get you back into eating bland chicken!

you seem to be very negative person, never saw you saying something good. 👎

PS. for me Motoring shows inspire me, and Top Gear (funny car show as hell) :D

Very cool. Even better is the Porsche 956 Nurburgring (one of the suggested videos after you've watched the LeMans vid). I learned a few new lines from watching that. Awesome stuff....

Now I gotta go back and try to get that GT-R Record on the Ring Trophy again ..... :)

Where's that video I want to see it.

How about instead of focusing on the type of comment I make, you address whether they are logically sound and or factually accurate.

We can all wear rose colored glasses if that would make you happier but did you ever stop to think that if all the negative comments I make are logically sound and factually accurate then maybe the problem isn't me being negative but the product having so many negative facets?

Do you go into a dirty restaraunt with bad food and complain that someone keeps giving it negative reviews? Is that the persons fault? ;)

BTW if we are going to go reading peoples personalities, you come across as a rather insecure elitest who is looking for validation of your actions rather than being true to yourself.

It's like this.

I love pizza, I eat a lot of pizza. (maybe too much)

Once I was eating pizza for at least two meals a day for a week.
I was beginning to tire of it when I realized... I really friggin' love Pizza. I still love it. Who cares if I've already had too much of it? It still tastes great even if the flavor is of so familiar.

I know, weirdest comparison ever right?

I'd really like a camera angle like that to be in the game. (centerline cockpit) Maybe with the option of turning your car semi-transparent too.

It's not my favorite video overall, but I do really like the sound in it. Lots of little effects on the side, a nice exhaust note, and the wind noise when that thing gets up to speed must really keep the driver's head in the game. Maybe I will give GT5 a shot this afternoon, though I suspect it will be seriously lacking.

cool vids.

when i get bored or something pi$$es me off about the game, i take out a stock 427 cobra on sport hards for a rip on Nurburgring at dawn. Brings a smile to my face.

Agreed.

If you're becoming bored of GT5, why must you rekindle your enthusiasm for it by watching real races to specifically rekindle your enthusiasm? Fair enough if you do decide to arbitrarily watch races and then, by luck, you feel you want to play GT5 again. But otherwise it's all kind of forced.

I think his main point was trying to give people a different perspective of the game. It seems like a lot of peoples complaints about the game is that there aren't enough "forced" events like A-Spec races. I played GT4 over about a 3 year span, probably only 4-5 months combined of that were doing A-Spec events or manufacturer races or license tests. The rest of the time was spent driving and racing! I didn't buy GT5 because I hoped there would be lots of events that would pay me XP and Credits. I bought GT5 with the hopes that it would allow me to have a very realistic driving experience right in my living room. And it does that incredibly well!

To the specific point of the OP; I'm a racing junkie and I watch almost any form of racing or racing/driving related program I can find (as long as it doesn't go in circles or short, straight lines). When I watch an FIA Touring Car race from Monza or a Grand Am race from Laguna Seca I think to myself "Man, I WISH I could have the chance to do that!". Well, I don't live very close to either of those places and can't afford a race car, but I can get a fairly similar experience by hoping on GT5 and hooking up my G27!

The difference between people like me and the people who complain is that we get just as much fun from driving/racing in GT5 whether we get credits/xp or not. For us it's not about getting paid or moving up to the next experience level, it's about sitting down behind our wheels and forgetting that we're sitting in our living rooms, it's about driving the cars and learning the tracks. And as far as I'm concerned it will take me YEARS before I feel like I've experienced everything this game has to offer. Throw in online play with GTP members or leagues and the Course Maker, well I've played GT5 every day since release except for 3 and I feel like I'm just scratching the surface.

GT5 can be as incredible or as lame as you allow it to be. It's about you, not the game.

👍

👍

Don't blame the game, blame the player. 👍 It's like throwing off Space Invaders just because its graphics are just a bunch of pixels :dunce:

I'm a bit like you, apart from if I got tired of pizza cus I'd had 2 pizzas a day for a week, then I would think, "I'm a little tired of pizza. It still tastes great even if the flavor is of so familiar, so I'll take a little break from it so I can enjoy it even more at a later date.

Some videos that inspire me to jump back into the game-

Nurburgring F1 1967 onboard - I like watching this old video, then playing the track in GT5 to see what's changed over the years

Ferrari 599XX sets new record on the Nurburgring

KUMAKUBO EBISU DRIFT MANJI-ING - encourages me to learn drifting

Tom Walkinshaw driving a qualifying lap at Bathurst

Well that was years ago and I still love pizza. Eventually (and fortunately for my digestive system) the pizza ran out, we just had a lot of it at the time, plus leftovers. lol

Yes, I've taken breaks here and there from GT5 to play all the new games with my friends. I do come back to it every now and then, usually to play some online or splitscreen with my brother.

Other games grab my attention and I will say that GT5 isn't the game I'm most devoted to. I'm rather casual on it. It's gonna need something new if it wants to become a game for people to play until GT6. DLC, some updates, any of that sort of thing. I think a lot of people have burned themselves out on the game. If you play it 24/7 you'll undoubtedly run out of new things to do in short order.

Everyone and their mother think they know the solution to GT5 getting boring, but I think everyone knows all the ways that are suggested in threads like these.. It's just when you're bored you can't really force yourself to do something like this.. you are bored after all.. These things do happen though, I get inspired by a lot of youtube films, tv things, magazines to try things in GT5.. But it's not THE solution.

Yeah well no, But I do like to eat generic noodles while watching cooking shows, or is it the other way around. But anyway when you watch something and want it (getting hungry) something bland can be a substitute.

I watch some race on tv and afterwards go do something on GT5 (which is not as cool as the race but cool enough)

This pretty much sums up primarily why I enjoy playing GT5, especially after a demanding shift at work...

👍 Exactly.

I'm level 30 A-Spec and level 20 B-Spec, and have only just completed A-spec up to the Professional level and nearly at the same level in B-spec. Have enjoyed using the Photomode, have only so far done the seasonals online, and have yet to touch the course generator. Still a lot left in the game for me to do, so will not be done with GT5 for some time yet...
