Steve Hartley driving a McLaren MP4/1 at the Brands Hatch Masters Historic Festival in 2019.

(Filmed with a Cambox, which I hadn't heard of before.)

What a great video, talk about intense :)

I love that shot as the first Viper exits the garage, so much presence.

Never really thought LMP3's would sound like this. But I've never seen them in person, only on tv.

As I understand it, all LMP3 chassis are fitted with a control engine in the Nissan VK V8.

Jean Alesi runs Nikki Lauda's Ferrari 312T around Monaco

It's actually the 312B but it still sounds glorious.

I just hope no damage was done when he got 1st gear instead of 3rd when approaching La Rascasse.

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah I winced at that bad upshift too.

Well it turns out that the gearbox being damaged was the least of Alesi's worries.

I read about this earlier today :nervous:

Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be of serious consequences & only minor damage. A very lucky escape from what could have been a whole lot worse.

Let's be honest, Jean Alesi leading an F1 race was never going to end well. Except for that one time it did, obviously.

This is nice. Not the usual fair for this thread, but it felt more appropriate here than the OMG/WTF one. Watch to the end.

Is there not a link on it to watch on YouTube? It's from the offical Formula 1 channel, and others I've seen from them posted here have that facility.

I will goto the channel on YouTube 👍

Correct

How good is that pic

I've always thought it's the picture below, just cropped. You won't believe me, in ages, only TODAY, looking closely, I found out it's not the same pic, the trees and the car left side don't match, it's a different picture, or photographer, or lap.
