They have principles?

Musical chairs time in the Cabinet.

They may have diminished principles, but at least they did something about it. Can't imagine this bloke doing the same thing.

She was really very silly. If she wanted to avoid the 2nd home extra stamp duty, just have the sale go through in someone else's name - that's how Nigel did it.
There were a couple of ways to do it properly, the worst way, and the one that will land you in trouble, is to lie that it's your primary residence. There are enough legitimate ways to avoid tax if you're wealthy that don't require being dishonest about your situation. Being too greedy, or stupid, or a combination of both, might save you a bit in the short term, but you might also get caught.

She had to go, but then I personally think that virtually every politician we currently have should step down.i don't like any of them. We need major reform (as in change not the party) of our political system in this country, in my opinion. It's very broken and none of them deserve anyone's trust.

Its only weakened the Labour party, which is why it's been top billing on the news for three days, and yeah, she had to go... but If I were Keir, I'd get her back next week in a different role. The Tories in my pub tonight were laughing about how she got caught...

**** them all.

I've lost count - will this be the 5th or 6th time he'll have had to resign from a post? Perhaps this will be the last time.
I had no idea that slimeball was still in an official post. Now I can't get that bloody Barry Manlynose song out of my head...

Oh Mandy... you came and you took without giving
But Keir sent you away

I guess it speaks to the size of Labour's majority that the PM hasn't immediately thrown him under the bus. Although if he really did hang around the evil Epstein in the knowledge that he was raping kids, perhaps he deserves to be thrown under a real bus while it's in motion.

Hate to defend slimey Mandy but it's not exactly new information, and as someone who can get on with the Trumpists he may actually be the best person for that job. If it's proven that he actually knew what Epstein was doing that's one thing, but if the extent of it was being a friend to and supporting someone accused of sex offences, a lot of the MPs calling for his head would have to chop off their own as well. I don't support the hypocrisy. It shows how pathetic our politicians and media are that, with all the crap in this country and the failures so far of this Labour government, they choose to focus on this.

Maybe we should've given the ambassadorship to Farage when he wanted it.

It never even occurred to me that Mandelson would be embroiled in a trafficked girls scandal...

I thought the same - horrible as it may be, but the Trump administration needs to be handled in a very specific way with the type of people who know how he operates. That said, I can't see any realistic way that Mandelson can continue in the role.

... aaaand he's gone.

It's quite funny that one person gets sacked today for links with Epstein, while another gets a state visit next week.

Also quite funny that the SNP were calling for Mandelson's head but quite happy for his help with their Trump trade talks.

It may be hard, if not impossible to prove any wrong doing with this, and I say this as some with knowledge of capital gains tax, reporting rules and so on. But essentially, he could have gifted the money for all of the capital, and it can't be proven to be a tax dodge, unless he's named on the deeds. Unlike falsely declaring two homes you own as a primary residence, which is a blatant tax dodge. As I said about Rayner, there are clever ways to do this, and not so clever ways. Raners was not so clever.

Looks like things are heading in the “right” direction in the UK as well.

110k people, that’s pretty massive it seems.

Wearing MAGA hats and waving American flags, that’s definitely patriotic.
Just like those protesters in Brazil doing the same thing to beg for Bolsonaro to not go to jail.

They're taking their cues from this bloke.
