Rob, if you want I'm willing to give my spot to you due to the uncertainty of Spa (honestly, and enduro depending on numbers? Is it that hard to make it a yes or no? No offence)

It's quite simple really. If there aren't enough drivers, we don't race for an hour.

Last season we had only 6 drivers racing the hour-long enduro at Suzuka. Boring.

If that's the case again, we switch to a standard-length pair of races.

If it's not worth doing then it saves everyone's time. Unless people want the enduro no matter how many people are on the track, in which case I'll confirm it. 👍

Keep your space Morten, there will always be at least 1 or 2 people who can't make it anyway

That's the problem. Say I don't turn up because I believe there will be enough drivers to force endurance (which I don't have the time for), and it actually turns out to be only about the 6 you said were there last year. Points out of the window. Like I said I'd prefer a vote with say a "No", a "Yes" and a "Depending on numbers" option, if for nothing then to see where the water splits. In the case "Depending on numbers" win, then I'm gonna have to live with that, but as it stands now I'm really unsure if I want to race, honestly.

OK, let's have a vote. rallymorten has given you guys the three options, now let's hear your views about the Spa enduro. Should it happen? (bear in mind Spa will be double-points regardless of whether it's an enduro or not).

Vote closes 3rd January at 7pm (when there will be a test race, incidentally).

I'll go with 'Yes' I think.

No - 0

 pretty dead even right now :D

Dependent on numbers - 2

Dependent on numbers - 3 providing tyre & pitstop strategy comes into it (ie wider tyre range) if not than a NO from me as it will be boring.

All we could use last season was softs.
The laps need to compensate for meds/hards :)

All Sports tyre compounds were allowed in S3 actually, but it was just impractical to use any other compound, which was a shame. Myself and gedi found last season that using the 'Fast' wear setting, rather than 'Normal', would have spiced things up a lot more (particularly on fuel). I hope people want to see that used this time.

If I can make it ofc I thought I was on reserves with TBD as car in OP seems I'm not though :p.

I know all tyres were allowed Actually! But as you and I said we could only use softs! :banghead:

I would say normal is better because it dulls the big advantage Rwds have in tyre wear. Esp when they are one of the fastest to start with.

I know you were considering signing up as reserve, but didn't know you wanted in 100%. I'll fix that up for you now in the OP. 👍

Indeed, when wear was set to Normal, Softs were the only option really. Mediums and Hards were completely uncompetitive; the Softs could last a stint fairly easily. Hopefully switching to Fast will allow for a wider range of strategy. I know we tried last season and people were against it, but I'd like to try it this time.

That is a point. Testing required at some point I think.

Besides strategy in touring cars..

:sly:

The reason people were against it was because the Audi had a major advantage over the FF's on fast so normal was more fairer.

Indeed, hopefully with the Audi removed, that will mean we can try Fast this time. Although, as paul says, we'd have to look at BMW/Lexus tyre wear first before deciding finally. Fingers crossed the difference isn't too big.

So the same point I made on Rwd tyre wear vs FF tyre wear, testing testing testing to be done though. I ave little time to test here and there but I have to pick one thing, tonight I dabbled in a bit of Toca but of the 8 cars I got 3 done .

Quick question: because we can't do the championship order thing, will the grid for Round 1 be decided by a qualifying session?

(I don't know because I wasn't here at the start of S3)

Think it started with reverse grid from S2 :)

I was originally planning to do it by order of sign-up, but actually gedi's idea works pretty good. I'll sort the grid out soon by reverse S3 order and stick it in post #3 (where it will always be during the season, along with event laps and pit windows) :) 👍

Should prolly be a reverse grid of the final points for s3

Remember all, test racing planned tomorrow night at 7pm.

Which non-calendar track(s) should we race at?

Autumn Ring? It's not actually on the calendar this season. And maybe a test at Monza Wet too.

Not yet, the deadline for car and team selection is January 10th.

Anyone who isn't registered in a team by then will be entered into the Independents' Championship until they sign-up a team-mate.
