Burnout 3

Oh man, I LOVE this game. I just unlocked the US circuit racer, and it's crazy rediculous. Online play is really quite smooth as well. Anyone up for a game night sometime?
 
Alright....
tried to rent this game today. While walking in, I see an employee leaving with a copy of the game. Later on, I see no copies left. Damn. I look behind me. 2 employees talking both have copies of Burnout 3, and leave together in the same car. WTF? At that point, I"m pretty pissed off. Later, I see if there are any to buy. Lady tells me, nope, all gone. As I leave I notice not one, but another 2 employees leaving, one with a bought copy, and one with a rented copy. WTF?!
I found out employees at my local blcokbuster have the right to get discounts on games, movies, etc. AND can rent or buy them before they hit the shelves! What the hell? They should be allowed to buy them the same damn time we get to. 👎

Anyways, went to another, much nicer people, and an employee there happily went into the back and got me a copy to rent. Traveling 5 miles was worth it instead of traveling 1/2 a mile. The other one seems to get a much bigger selection. They said the one near me rarely gets huge shipments of most wanted games. They get huge shipments of just new games, and not to mention aren't good with their renting. They have lost quite a few movies and games due to not trying to get in contact with the renter. That's what you get for letting 17 year olds play around in Blockbuster.
The other one as workers all out of high school.

So, I'll be traveling 5 miles instead of one half to get my games instead from now on.

I guess the major fault in the game is the lack of replays. I mean, some crashes are aewsome, it´s a shame you can´t watch the replays, or save the races to watch it again and show to your friends.
 
I'll be getting the xbox one myself (it's more polished, custom sound tracks, better loading times). Looks like a superb game on either machine though, I can't wait too play it :D, I really enjoyed the first 2.
 
Grrr, had to rent the ps2 version, but I can play it online. Its ok so far(still feels too much like BO2) but i have yet to try online. The NFSU2 demo was interesting and it plays better than the first :). The sound is very impressive, cant say that for BO3 however, but graphics are not up to BO3.

Its awesome, and makes my games pass really worth the price! I was playing at 12 AM, and probably will return to it later this morning. 👍
 
I like Burnout 3 very much, it's, like everybody said, THE arcade racer for PS2......Everything i could think of was already said, do i'm gonna comment the Underground 2 Demo a bit.

The music, which was a fairly big part of the first Underground is really messed up. The sounds may have been improved, but since my TV speakers are crappy, could't quite figure that one out :( Didn't play UG1 on a PS2, only on PC, but the graphics of UG2 seem a lot worse than those of the first part. Just look at the *stock* headlights of that LanEVO :( :( The gameplay is fairly fine, but if an EVO understeers too much, what will happen to the WRX STI ?

Anyway, this does not represent the final quality of the product, so, in my oppinion, they'll have A LOT to improve until release date. But since it's free ( i mean on the Burnout3 DVD that is) i should stop complaining ;)
 
AWD cars tend to understeer regaurdless. I saw nothing wrong withe the graphics. The demo for NFSU was nothing like the full game, graphics and playabilty. I'm still buying it the day it comes out :).

LOL, funny video. I'm definately gettting this game tomorrow after school. Looks SO FREAKIN FAST. And it looks like it doesn't even lag(or none at all), unlike NFSU. :drool: :drool: :drool:

they do on the xbox.
 
there's tons of people on the ps2 servers as well. I always manage to find a room open with at least 4 people ready to race or crash or whatever the situation may be.

Oh, and the ps2 version supports the headsets as well.

Press the triangle button after the race/crash has finished to view the replay, no replay save however.

Yeah, I saw that like 1 hour after I posted this here, and forgot to edit. :dunce:

But still a shame you cant save the replays.
 
THIS GAME IS A MUST BUY!!!!Blows Burnout 2 away with no comparison.
The online play is the best so far of any PS2 car game that has been made.
Online highlights:
-8 people in crash mode and 6 people in the other events
-You can talk the whole time online even during the races.
-Replays online
-TRAFFIC. All the traffic including semis, bus', cars.....
-Full detail crashes online
It would take a LOT of game time to beat the single portion of Burnout 3
100 events in the crash mode!
73 events in Race mode.
173 events total in the game. Thats the events-not each lap you have to do.
67cars to unlock
Excellent game. The crashes are impressive. The game play is extremely fast!
With a capture device you could save the replay. 👍
The buddy list in this game is very similar to the set up of X-box live. You add a buddy then later you can simply click on his name even if your not in his room and you can join his game. Excellent improvement for PS2.
 
so... what is everyone's burnout 3 name? We can add eachother to our buddy lists or something.

Who knows... maybe we could create a GTP meet on Burnout 3 and race against eachother?
 
One thing I would like to know. You can see in the video I´ve posted that when someone talks during the race it doesn´t show the name of who is speaking on the screen, at least on the Xbox version. Is the same on PS2?
 
When I was playing it showed their names in the lower right hand of the screen. On PS2 Burnout 3.
 
on ps2, the name shows up in the bottom right corner of the screen in blue text. The font is small and they intended it to be out of the way (mostly to keep your eyes on the road)

OH SHYET!! OMFG!??!?! This game is soooo damn good! :dopey: I'm so glad I played this AFTER SRS. Screw renting this one, I'm buying it! :lol: encorage road rage?? Works for me!!! The Damage looks so realistic!? The driving ain't but eh... can you mix crashing with driving and continue for hrs. upon hrs.?? I don't think so.. but BURNOUT 3 can! :lol: Sooo... much better than NFS:U and it's "clones". Very Refreshing! :dopey:👍
 
Just wait till you and a buddy do the "Team Crash" you will be in love. You both head side by side into traffic online to get as much damage as possible. Talk about some killer replays and the "team crash" is ONLY available online. 👍
Another great thing is all the points you get online help you unlock more cars. 👍 👍
 
Wow, that's crazy... too bad I won't be doing online anytime soon. :sad: Anyway, you know what else is crazy?!? The music on this game?! :lol: I've had it idle for awhile and they have not only decent music but a lot!? No of this dark, repetitive, wannabe rap crap from NFS:U and it's clones. :D:tup:
 
Heh, I may have to get this once it comes down in price. I spent hours driving an F350 around Chicago in the old Midtown Madness, whaling on stuff and chasing pedestrians out of the way. Plus, I think my wife and kids would get a charge out of it too.
 
If you like fast arcade racers especially Burnout 2, this is ten times better than whatever else you've played.
 
Wow I just tried this game and it ROCKS!!! All the PS2 copies at the blockbuster were gone so I snatched the XBOX version. I'm planning on buying the PS2 version though. I could just sit there and lay the takedowns on people all night. hehehe I'm proud of myself, first race in the game, I got 7 takedowns :)
