Not impressed! takes about 60 bullets to kill someone with these crap guns? where's the damn RPD when you need it? putting this on ebay for a £1 and thats over pricing it 👎

Is this as gory as WAW??
 
Yeah there is a fair bit of gore. I just passed what I assume was the torture scene and there was nothing to it.

I guess I mean in everything like multiplayer too. Usually if you throw a grenade you will blow peoples legs off or arms off in multiplayer. Since they copied the MW2 engine, I was afraid the gore might be gone in multiplayer.
 
My mother was nice enough to rent it for me while Im in school. Cant wait to get home and play it. :D Dunno if I should do the campaign first, or just go straight into multiplayer.

Well if you play the multiplayer you do stand the risk of someone spoiling the end of the campaign for you. Unless you leave your mic off.

I hated MW2 but loved WAW. In MW2 I hated the cheaters and all the other online probles with that game.

Lets get some honest opinions in here. How does this multiplayer compare to MW2? How are the cheaters, map glitches, spawn killing??

MW2 is one of the worst designed shooters I've ever played. Thank god I didn't spend money on it.

A friend of mine kind of talked me into buying it last night so I pre-ordered it through Steam and got up early and played it. I've only played a bunch of the SP which was light years better then any CoD has been since United Offensive. But giving them that, its not a fraction of SP game as many other FPS from over the years. Which is fine as it is a MP oriented game. I haven't played that portion yet but it should be better then MW2 as they have changed a few things (fixed snipers, dedicated servers, no retarded heart beat sensors, etc..) Hopefully it doesn't suck as much as 95% of shooters released these days.
 
The guns in this game are not underpowered at all, they are great.

Currently running the mp5 RDS with camera spike, hacker, lightweight and hardened.

I also did not buy MW2. I rented and played it for about 2 weeks and gave up on that game. Easily one of the worst games I have played online. The hackers, glitches, and spawn killing was rediculous.

My fiance rented 2 copies of Black ops so we will check it out later tonight. The rental fee is only $3.50 each game so its a heck of a lot cheaper than $60.00 per game.
 
I agree. Treyarch does a pretty good job listening to the community and patching their games. Its still boggles my mind that after 2 years with this game, they did not fix that care package glitch. I mean, they knew it was MW2 yet didnt fix it for BO??? :dunce:
 
After MW2 I decided I wasn't going to buy this game, especially because "it comes out like 3 days after GT5 :rolleyes:"

Last night on a spur of the moment decision I pre ordered it, and I'm going to be picking it up in about an hour or so. I really do hope it's better than MW2, because after COD4 got old (looooong time for that to happen), I've been lacking a "go to" FPS. Battlefield was fun for a while but there's nothing left of the community there. I'm just really hoping that this game is fun enough to piss away an hour or two every weekend for a few months.
 
OMG awesome game! I just played my first match online and finished with 33 kills and 8 deaths! :D That'sa 4.13 kdr.

EDIT: Just went 32 and 10. I got an air package with the DeathBringer! Got 10147 CoDPoints atm. From two games. :D

It's weird, the Famas is full auto? Will there be a GTP night for members in Black Ops?

The original FAMAS was full auto, look at the trigger guard, on the original one it was just a small one to go over the index finger (like in Black Ops), whereas the newer one (MW2) has a larger trigger guard that covers the whole hand and is burst fire.


They screwed up the M16 on multiplayer, it should be full auto, the M16A2 (where it switched from auto to 3 burst) wasn't phased in until the 80's.
 
Just won my first game of Gun Game. :') It's awesome. Made my heart beat rise xD

EDIT: Gun Game with lag has to be the most annoying thing I have endured in this game so far. Trying to hit someone with the ballistic knife and a 1 bar connection = 100s of tries.

Like as in a dedicated night? I am sure at some point we will organize one. Otherwise, it will be mostly what I have been doing with A6 lately and gathering whatever GTPers are online and playing together.

Technically, both the older (F1) and newer version (G2) of the FAMAS have both full auto and burst selection, along with a semi-automatic one. The fire selector switch located within the trigger guard gives choices of safe, semi-automatic, and automatic. The FAMAS, both F1 and G2, has another selector switch behind the magazine that determines if the weapon will be operated in three round burst or fully automatic when the automatic setting is selected on the fire selector switch. Call of Duty developers just do not allow the gamer to select which function will be used.

Infinity Ward chose the wrong model for the FAMAS in MW2; Infinity Ward used the older F1 version. The F1 did not allow for the use of the 30 round STANAG magazine, but had a specialized 25 round magazine.

I loathed mw2 more than you would believe but black ops I think is a huge improvement.

Ahh I've seen your type in lobbies. You might be better off in mw2 noob. Black Ops actually has recoil and requires skill to shoot someone. Aim for the head.

So much wrong.

Black Ops doesn't require any more skill than MW2 to shoot someone. The Famas has minimal recoil, also it's easy to fire off two shots with a sniper as the position resets almost instantly. Trust me, you need those two shots. Weak as kittens.

With recoil you don't aim for the head because most of the bullets will fly over the top, aim for the chest.
 
I've just finished the single player campaign. The ending was a little ridiculous. It felt more like I was watching some crazy anime than playing a COD game.

Playing as Nixon in the pentagon is pretty funny though.

I could fire across map with an ak47 and kill a guy in 3 bullets just by holding the trigger down firing full auto in mw2 . Black Ops you need to burst fire at medium range let alone cross map.

The 3rd sniper is decent but they've made it so much harder to quickscope. Mw2 was a heap more noob friendly.
 
I think the FAMAS is my favourite weapon so far, but i've started using the AK74u, which I find very effective.

Also, the RC-XD is fun to use and the Ballistic Knife is not as easy to aim as I thought it would be.
