People complained that IW did a map pack playlist in MW2 that forced to to play all sorts of games just to play the new maps. Treyarch have added the maps to the normal rotation so that you can play any game type you want. If you don't like it to bad.

I hated MW2 so I have no idea what any of the DLC did for that game. Why dont they just allow a separate playlist for the DLC like Halo does. Works perfect.

Now are the maps already on the disk???? Thats the main question I want answered. From what I heard the dlc is extremly fast which usually means its on the disk already.

MW2 DLC used a high level of compression. I think those DLCs were less than 400mb. With a half decent connection you could have them in no time.

And like I said MW2 had map pack playlists. It forced you to play all game types if you wanted to play the new maps only.

I have not purchased COD dlc since WAW. I dont mind supporting Treyarch but I refuse to support IW. So hopefully I get to at least play on a couple of the maps tonight. I dont have Black Ops but Heather does so I figure I will just DL the maps because a few of my friends want me to play with them and I have 4,840 ms points burning in my pocket. I like the BO multiplayer but as I said above, I hated MW2. I think it might be the only game I have played that I hate. Its rare I ever use that word.

Capcom did the same with Alternate Costumes and colors for Street Fighter IV.

Map pack is around 600MB according to JD_2020, and 600MB isn't going to download "extremely fast" unless you have something like a 100Mbit connection.

And even if it was already on the disk, its not like this i would be the only time thats ever been done. Codemasters has been doing that for years. I think of it less as buying something and more like making it better similar to buying a premium membership. Either way you don't get anything to hold in your hands but you're still happy afterwords.

I would almost prefer it to be on the disk already just so that it doesn't eat up space on my hard drive. Of course I'm still going to buy it either way.

Exactly 646.37 MB on the 360 IIRC. Not insignificant by any means.

Edit... was a little off.

I was thinking about buying the maps but I heard the maps downloaded instantly. Which indicates the maps are already on the disk. Please tell me this is not correct or I will never ever buy another DLC from Treyarch ever again.
I also heard it doesnt have its own playlist for the DLC maps, so if they are not voted for, you cant play them.

MW2's maps were on the disk, I found them. The download for these maps was almost 700mb's, which is about right. Your not paying to download it though, so if its on the disk or not doesn't matter, your paying for the new content. It doesn't download instantly for sure, unless you have a T1 connection or something. I have standard broadband and it took about 10 mins.

Yes the mappack has its own playlists. No the maps are not resident on your current disk. @650MBs I had the maps downloaded and installed in just under 8 minutes on a 24Mbit connection. So the download is fairly quick IMO.

I almost thought for a second that I could maybe possibly make it to round 40. It didn't happen.

I'm really liking the rooftop stage, kowloon I believe, not sure on the spelling. I'm always moving and there are 3 ways into almost every camping spot, you might kill me once but I bet when I fly through a window and stab you, you won't expect that. I know the map very well now. The last game I played was on it but it was rather annoying. There was one guy with a stop camping emblem and he was camping so hard he must have stock in coleman, he was annoying because he would just ADS at the entrance and just sit there. Pretty ridiculouse seeing his emblem and all.....

Let's go dolphin diving!

You should watch Seananners dolphin diving montage. Its epic.

I played some games tonight and man oh man the Galil with hardened is a murder machine.

I have been able to play the new maps quite a bit. I am also glad Treyarch added the map playlist. I knew if we asked, we would receive. :dopey:

Anyone want to play some zombies?

I can't imagine a 1-bar being *too* bad in zombies. Plus, I am beyond awful and getting killed in round 4 solo isnt much fun. lol

When playing solo quick revive only costs 500 and you will be automatically revived after a few seconds by the computer.

I know. I'd already used it twice.

Meh, I was too busy getting swarmed by zombies and downed to notice

22-6 on domination with only a sniper rifle.

There's now a Nuketown 24/7 playlist (for a while at least). When I was playing BO earlier, 45,000 players were in that playlist, and there were around 300k players online.

In comparison, reg TDM had a "mere" 145k - half of the total playerbase. Nuketown had 15% of the total - 30% of the people not playing TDM were playing Nuketown. 30!

They're losers!!! I get so enraged over the love for that crap map. I was playing Demolition and 3 guys were saying "Go random maybe we'll get nuketown!!!" What a garbage map especially for objective based modes

People just want to play it so that they can random grenade, noobtube and bs knife. Or because they still lol over the double rainbow and mannequins.

My cousin, myself and a couple of his friends were playing the Nuketown 24/7 playlist just for fun last night. Yes it is a crap map, too small, too open, terrible spawning and frequent random grenade and tomahawk deaths. However it's the one map where I can just sprint around with a shotgun or dual wield SMGs/pistols and not take things too seriously. Plus it's great for quick exp especially with the double points going on.

I might check out that playlist. I almost always do awesome on that map. Its to bad double XP is almost over I could do a whole prestige on that map in no time.

I thought I would hate Nuketown before playing BO. I actually found Nuketown to be one of the better maps in the game. Most of the rest of the maps are uninspiring. But then again, I have not played BO in probably two months now and things may have changed.

Man, they had the double xp weekend this past weekend and I got to play for maybe an hour and a half total all weekend. I was planning on just jamming the game and finishing this 2nd prestige and going through to the end of the 3rd during the weekend, it wouldn't be hard playing domination with double xp. But I only gained 6 ranks and I'm not a level 47 or 48. I'm not going to prestige unless there is another double xp because getting some of the pro perks is just so annoying I can't handle it. Its mainly the Ninja Pro and Marathon Pro that takes me a good while to get. I have playing CTF and always seem to get stuck on a horrible team when trying to get Ninja playing demolition. The only perk I haven't got pro for, or even come close to getting pro for is FlackJacket. I don't understand what the hell they were thinking when they made the throw back so many grenades thing to get it. I never get regular grenades thrown at me, only semtex and you can't throw those back!

The problem with these pro perks is that people join these game modes only to get them. I only play CTF to get marathon pro but if a teammate gets a flag I will try to help them out and I try to defend sometimes to be able to win. When the roles are reversed though and I get the flag instead of people helping me they camp the enemy flag spot so when it comes back they can get it to try to get marathon pro.

You need to camp more. Flak jacket pro was one of the first ones I got you just need to stay at the typical spots (eg: top ledge in jungle, the upstairs rooms in nuketown, etc).
