I think this is the biggest thing for me. Are you really gonna be able to just slug up a 30 pound rifle (Intervention weighs 31 lbs), fire and hit the target?
yeah,i always wondered why the sniper rifles have such good mobility, they should be like the LMG classes

I'm not sure how many of you PRE ORDERED from amazon, but they give you a $20 credit good toward another video game product. I asked one amazon rep and she said the points could be assigned to a current open order/pre order. So if you have a GT5 pre order with them, you could save $20. Of course another rep told me it couldn't be done. I'm sure calling them and asking about it after the fact would work.

I shall be purchasing this on the 360. My gamer tag is M3turb0, i'm also still dabbling in MW2 for any concerned parties looking to do TDM.

About time the quick scoping issue was dealt with, tis very annoying indeed!

Not bad. I don't understand why all the hardcore fans are upset that there was no sign of zombies in it. If it were a zombie game like RESIDENT EVIL, then I could understand the problem, but it's not, and so I can't. And speaking of zombies, I've heard the following weird story:
You play as John F. Kennedy, Robert Nixon, Robert McNamara and/or Fidel Castro in zombie mode. Castro is visiting Kennedy and Nixon (yes, I know there's an anachorism there) in the Penatgon when zombies break in. And for once, Ctrl + Alt + Del made a funny about it (or at least what passes for funny by their standards).
And I also heard that David S. Goyer - who worked with the Brothers Nolan on BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - was hired to write the script. So the story should probably be better than MW2. Of course, Treyarch may have gone and screwed the pooch anyway because it's rumoured that Sam Worthington is the voice of Alex Mason. Seriously, Worthington? The guy has zero charaisma, zero ability and zero credentials. The only thing he has which is greater than zero is the number of facial expressions he can manage - two.

I'll be playing the single player tomorrow morning if FEDEX doesn't screw up so I'll tell you whether it's good or not.

I really shouldn't watch it ... I'm on a download limit, and watching it is going to wreak hell on that limit. Still, maybe I'll watch ten minutes of it.

Also, I've heard that people have already hacked into the beta.

Well, I watched 30 minutes of it. But, well, I can't realy afford to go over my download limit since I spect over an hour on YouTube on Monday and it cost me 1 of my 4 monthly gigabytes.

I have 80gig and it lasts me fine :D! I have downloaded SO MUCH crap this month and I am still trodding along fine.

I did, despite thinking I wouldn't, preorder black ops...
I only did it for the free 4 pack of V energy drink you get when you pick the game up though, it seemed like a good idea to me :D

Back on topic, and I'm curious as to what the secret on Nuketown is. Not that I'll be playing it too much - it's waaay too small. There's a video of all the maps flaoting around on YouTube and I have to say that Array and Jungle look great.

Nuketown is going to be a spawntrap haven....and I will be the one spawntrapping :)

Jeez, u still have download limits? We live in 2010 and download limits still exist :dunce:.

Ontopic. I wonder what will change in Black Ops what we didn't had in MW2? I'm only happy if they put a proper Spec Ops mode and not that stupid Zombie mode.

I'm looking forward to playing on the medium sized maps, but i'm not a fan of larger maps, like Derail in MW2. The new Jungle map seems to be pretty big, I just hope it's better than the larger ones i've played on before.

By the way, I have a download limit. It sucks that there's a limit but it does work well (most of the time).

A university-imposed one. It's a good deal for what it is, but you just have to stay away from video-heavy sites like YouTube.

They do have zombie mode, where you play as JFK, Nixon, McNamara and Castro in defending the Pentagon
But there's also a ton of other stuff. I don't know about spec ops, but they have combat training, which pits you again AI bots so you can learn maps, refine strategies and perfect weapon setups. They've also moved to an in-game economy, where all weapons are unlocked at a certain level and you have to buy each one (but the beauty of it is that if you don't want to buy a certain weapon, you can spend your money on upgrading your current setup), the general idea being that you can dictate the path of development. Parallel to this are Wager Matches, which are free-for-all games that you can bet on to receive a bigger payout for winning: One In The Chamber gives you a gun with one bullet, and if you kill someone, you get their bullet; Sharpshooter gives everyone the same weapon for forty-five seconds and then cycles through them at random; Gun Game upgrades your weapon every time you get a kill; and Sticks And Stones is crossbows and tomahawks only, and if you get a kill with a tomahawk, it bankrupts the player. The game also has a contracts system where you can put up some of your own money for a set of challenges in a set amount of time (ie 50 kills with a submachine gun in three hours of game-time) and you'll get a bigger payout and/or more experience for successfully completing them. Apparently there's 500 contracts that are randomly available and most can apparently be taken more than once.

Yeah, Spec Ops was a bit ... I don't know what the right word is, but it felt like I was playing COUNTER-STRIKE against the computer. I don't mind having objective-based gameplay, but some of the stuff would have been better off as a multiplayer game. Variations on Sniper Fi, Evasion, Suspension, Hidden, Homeland Security, Wreckage and Acceptable Losses would have been great as multiplayer games.

If anyone has played the CAMPAIGN, what are your thoughts on it?
I'm not sure how I feel. The story is kind of all over the place for spanning across a short period of time. There are some WTF moments but the premise of where you are and what you're doing at the time all the gameplay is going on, you'll know what I mean if you played it, feels dumb to me. I think it takes away from the game knowing where you are between the missions.

.

All of them? I only got to be Kennedy after beating the game but I didn't last more than a few rounds since I have no interest in Zombie mode.
Also no point of the spoiler tags as everyone knows about the Zombie mode premise and the mini games.

Well, they're all in the sequence before the actual mission begins. I imagine that if you played co-op, you could play as all four.

When he said he was going to stand in line that shocked me, I figured he couldn't stand. It didn't surprise me that he didn't even have some of the things right he was complaining about...
