Oh I do. Recently I mostly use either the FAL with holo sight and stopping power or the AUG hbar with grip. My other kits are the Barret with thermal sight and the Famas with holo sight. Sometimes I just like to go unknown for a while though...

I take a bit of offence to that. I'm (1st) prestige with a KDR of only 0.63 (due to the woeful matchmaker at release... I challenge you to have a decent match with a ton of lag)
Oh, for christs sakes, here we go AGAIN. Im sorry but I am fed up of this argument, I am completely over it. It is NOT all about the match maker, release called for a few things.

1. You have to learn the maps.
2. You need to learn the new play style.
3. You need to learn not to go running and gunning with one bar.

As some of our American and UK GTpers know, I have come out of a 1 bar game with TOP SCORE, 1 bar, aka, a ton of lag (the lag would have been no different back then). This means that all the other factors have been learnt and I am playing properly. You go into a 1 bar game now, if your a good player you shouldnt come out with a KD of 0.3. If you do, thats your fault. If you come out with a 1:1 K.D, it means that match making wasnt to blame but your playing style was. On release I had 1 or 2 bar games all the time but you dont see me using it as an excuse for my K.D, my K.D was actually higher on release than it is now, by about 0.1.

I know you might not care about your K.D but that is probably because it isnt too good, if you dont care about it dont make excuses as to why it isnt so good. If your K.D was good upon release you might have actually wanted to keep it that way.

Oh god. I came across airdrop glitchers for the first time literally a minute ago :|

Constant UAVs/CUAVS/Predators/Attack Choppers... sure, they were on my team but it still pissed me off. Regardless of the side you're on it's impossible to have an enjoyable game if someone (two people were doing it :\) keeps calling in air support and whatnot. Sooner it gets fixed for good, the better.

Legendary - I'm talking about when the game first came out, the matchmaker would drop Aussies & Kiwis into games with AMERICAN HOSTS. As a result you'd always have a one-bar connection, making the game virtually unplayable. Since the matchmaker got patched, my KDR is a lot closer to 1 than zero... I'd say my actual KDR is around 0.85. It's more than just a coincidence, and I'm still as crap as I was when I first got MW2.

Yeah and thats what I am arguing about. If you learnt the game then it shouldnt bother you to have one bar as long as you dont rush. The game was not unplayable, read above, you needed to learn the game. It cant all be blamed on the American host issue.

I
That night I got so mad I jumped, I jumped like crazy for the entire I would say 30-45 minutes I played before just getting Danny Bonaduce style pissed off and just turning off my xbox. I had gotten so pissed I couldn't even play Forza 3 and enjoy it because I couldn't focus enough to play it. It takes every bit of focus you have to play that game if you play it on the hardest setting like I have been from the start, one small thing like letting a tire slip into the grass and you just went from 1st to 9th that quick, and with it on hard you won't be catching up but maybe 2 positions if you have enough time left....IW ruined my entire night that night.....jerks.
I just played some on XBL, and not one encounter with the care package glitch. Other than the lag being crazy bad, it went OK. Struggled real early, then got matched up with some noobs, my k/d skyrocketed(for the night, not overall). I think it probably evened out in the end, it stayed at 2.00 and didn't change. On PSN earlier, however, I got my k/d back up from 2.16 to 2.17. Yay!
It's a game, games are designed for people to have fun, and fun is having a good time, whether you get killed a lot or not.
I completely disagree with that, but there really isn't "the" correct way to play. For me, CoD has replaced basketball. If one of the guys on the team(sometimes the other team) comments that they just want to have fun during basketball, I feel like punching him in the face. And like basketball, I see deathmatches in CoD as competition. I play to win, and if my team completely sucks, I either get mad and leave(crying), or I just try my best to come out with good k/d ratio.

But that's me. While there will be many like me, there will be players like you, then people in between. Ultimately, you should play this game way you see fit. 👍

What do you guys use as a main weapon on your stealth kits? I have a silenced UMP45 but I can really only use it effectively at close range. Should I switch to something like a silenced ACR?
ACR is my favorite rifle, but when going cold-blooded, I use SCAR. Good accuracy, good stopping power. SMG, I use P90. I have, since CoD4. Great gun.

Also, little trick I learned in 'Nam: I often start the game with stopping power, then switch to cold-blooded once they get their killstreak going(UAV, Harrier). That way, for the first minute or two, you get to have a bonus stopping power. They drop so fast, when you got stopping power on. Of course, this variant ninja class will have to have the silencers on the guns, too. ;)

Edit:

Legendary is damn good one/red bar player though. It's frigging ridiculous.

I tend to check my KDR after every match. I set a goal of making it go up by a couple points and it helps me play better I think.

It really depends on the map for me as to which guns I use on my stealth setup. If its a map that's on the larger side like Underpass then I would use the silenced ACR, on smaller maps like Scrapyard I always put the UMP back on like it normally stays on my stealth setup. If you just burst fire the UMP its not bad at all for further away targets if you have to shoot further away. Ideally with a stealth set up you are going to be trying to flank so you will be taking a path around the action to hit the enemy from the rear and work your way up until either your team pushes them back and the enemy spawns on the other side or the enemy pushes your team and they spawn where you just killed a ton of the enemy players. Once that happens you rinse and repeat with your flanking, since that's what I do with my stealth setup the UMP works great because they don't know I am there normally and I will be killing close quarters because they don't know I'm behind them until they are dead. Its hard to flank on some maps like Underpass so I usually use an assault and most of the time its the silenced ACR just because of how accurate it is that way if I do have to shoot at a distance to be able to get out of a jam I can hit them with ease with that gun, I love the SCAR but for a silenced weapon I just don't like it, the M16 is also a decent assault choice silenced. And brute force most of the time only gets one thing, you killed faster:)

I don't really like the scar. It seems average and nothing about it really wowed me. I just unlocked the ACR but haven't tried it outside of the campaign. I also haven't tried the M16 in multiplayer yet. Is it better than the M4?

I don't know about any "wow" factor, but if top notch accuracy + stopping power doesn't make a gun special, I don't know what will. For me, basically, this gun acts like I have stopping power "on", even when I have the cold blooded perk on instead.

I swear you gotta be one of those guys who look like they are staring little off to the side, but they are looking directly at you? And it is my theory that gives you a lag compensation. You are shooting like three feet too wide, but it's a headshot every frigging time! :p

Its the Ping, on my game I can swing around and look at you and shoot but on your game I may even be facing the other way. It isnt until the connection hits your game that I start to turn and then shoot, this can take up to a second. So if I am the one being killed in the kill came I will be facing away from the guy and shooting (shooting a bit behind him) but if I am the one killing on game winning kill it will look fine because the ping has hit you and come back to me. That probably means I was shooting you around a second before the game actually registers it. You have to remember that your bullets can only register as fast as the host can take it in (thats the Ping in ms), if you live on the other side of the world it will take longer for the data to be sent to the host and back.

The SCAR is my silenced AR of choice, with the UMP being the SMG, and the M21 EBR being the Sniper Rifle. The big appeal to me on the SCAR is the excellent Iron Sights combined with solid stopping power and rather absurd accuracy (I can take it head to head with Snipers and prevail) compared to some of the other weapons in the game. The ACR has superb accuracy, but its Iron Sights drive me crazy and it lacks stopping power the SCAR has.

On the issue of lag... I've played 1 bar games with the UK members before and had top scoring games. It is just a matter of adjusting your play style accordingly, and playing more defensive when you have an inferior connection.

The FAL is a fantastic gun, and I am loving it again. Just wish it had better Iron Sights, but with the Holo it works pretty damn well. I like how its a One Shot Kill to the head, unlike most of the weapons in Core. Actually encourages me to aim for the head haha.

Congrats you have learned to play the game with horrible connection...but since you live in australia that is a must for you i guess. I like to play the game how its ment to(with good connection) and I dont want to learn to play with horrible ping. If i cant challange my enemyes 1vs1 without having a huge ping disadvantage then its no fun for me. That has nothing to do with skill..

EDIT: sorry for my english...

Couldn't agree more. I almost gave up on the fal because of the iron sights but fell in love with it after unlocking the holo sight.

I've heard that stopping power isn't really needed with the gun especially after you had the holo sight. Should I be using something else, say cold blooded?

Not particularly. Australia is not some remote island in the middle of nowhere, lots of people live here. I have no idea how big it is but it has plenty of people to go around. I get good connection all the time, tonnes of people play from here so I am fine on the side of things. I am just used to bad connection from CoD4 and on this game it really isnt that hard, you dont actually have to shoot in front of people like you do on CoD4, it all hits regardless just with a delay.

As for your English, its fine, I am sure it wont bother anyone.

I've been using a FAL with Holo and FMJ in FFA games with Cold Blooded (hide from that random pesky predator missile, etc) and it works great. 2 or 3 shot kills most of the time. Paired it with a SPAS-12 since its a terrible hip fire weapon and went 30 and 6 on Skidrow in an FFA game.

I quite like the FAL but under no circumstances should you ever put a silencer on it. It turns into the weakest most pathetic little pea-shooter around, I'd struggle to wound a fly.

My current fal class is with the holo sight and M203. Secondary is the AT4. I'm using bling pro, stopping power pro and commando pro with that. How much does the pro add to vehicle damage? I've been shooting harriers down left and right with this setup so I'm not sure I should change it.

Went 33-2-17 on Terminal with a silenced FAL.

Yeah, but we play hardcore a lot, and as such I also find the FAL to have plenty of power silenced. I can see where it might lose out in wussy non-hardcore modes. :D However, for non-hardcore I wouldn't bother with the silencer as you are usually seen too easily anyhow. I would run red-dot and FMJ in non-hardcore but it would have to be a fairly cautious game.

FAL + any sight + silencer is an excellent sub for a sniper rifle. It is a single shot kill weapon at medium range - on Estate, I can pick off snipers on the boathouse roof from behind the house fairly easily with it, especially with the thermal sight - although that reduces the weapon's run'n'gunnability. I tend not to fire from the hip, force of habit.

I carry one with either shotties or a machine pistol for inside use or running from location to location.

... and while I'm here on a rare posting visit... is it me, or are there simply not enough custom class slots! Wah!

Don't you get an extra one each time you prestige?

I despise non-Hardcore at times. I just shot you four times with a LMG and you're not dead, hmm.

I don't have the connection to play HC. I just find ways to kill quicker in core. Like azure said the fal is a 1-2 shot kill even in core.

Then you didnt hit with all bullets.. 4 hits is death with any weapon in the game.

No it isn't. He shot me 4 times with AUG HBAR in a non-HC Demolition match at Sub Base and I didn't die. All four hits registered for both of us (I got the red arc of doom four times, he got the X hit detector four times). I wasn't Painkillered at the time.
