OK, I'm starting to see what Azure complain about regarding UMP.

I wanted to try something new tonight, so first thing, I try getting shotgun attachment for my ACR. It takes 20 noob tube kills. :p Anyway, I get that done in four, five games, try the sucker out. It. Was. Worthless.

I move on to "marathon". One game, I got to host, and I went 30-8 with my silenced P90. Great, right? Down hill from there. While I'm completely addicted by the non-stop running, I'm also dropping by tons. My estimated k/d's been around 1.5-ish. But I don't think I'm done experimenting.

Anyway, this is where UMP comes into play. While P90's great in close range, its' range is very limited. But on Invasion, I pick up this guy's silenced UMP, and while it still has the sub-machine gun maneuverability, it gives me range. Rest of the match, I spent picking up their UMP's! After the match, now I've swapped my P90's with UMP's.

We'll see how it goes. :p

And that, not long before I told you how bad I was sucking. Seriously, my game picked up a bit after hooking up with you & Brett. Thanks for the good games guys! I hope I got bit of a momentum going in tonight. :D

I'm not doubting you, but I haven't seen a thing. And how can you tell that they know where all of your teammates are? Couldn't they have just gotten lucky?

P.S. If you want cheating, I got cheated last night! I was on Crash, camping on second floor of this building. I see this guy go prone, easily over hundred yards out, I start firing my ACR at him. After he drops me, I see the kill cam, I couldn't believe what I saw. He's laying down, sighting me in with what looks like a USP! I want my money back.

Everyone was saying the same thing over mic regarding how this guy was finding us.

USP?

Managed a triple Semtex yesterday, annoying they don't come under the challenges outside of sticking them to someone. Managed 3 choppers in that round!

USP by Heckler & Koch. A handgun. Back when all you could have for sidearm was a handgun, it used to be my choice.

On people finding you, I have experienced that. I guess it's possible, but I've never heard of such hack or mod. But yeah, I have said out loud "there was no way he could have known that I was hiding there!" before. I just never thought too much about it.

The USP is still one of my favorite sidearms. You've been at the receiving end of that a few times from what I can recall :p

You somma b*tch! With my favorite handgun!?

P.S. I'm starting to get a bit better handle on Marathon Pro. Still running it with UMP, no pun intended. I'm just not used to getting shot in the back though. I should use the flash bang more or something....

The UMP is retarded. SCAR damage levels, just with a bit faster drop off in damage but still the same. More accurate than say the F2000 or TAR. Larger clip than any AR. Faster move speed, faster ADS, better hip fire. It is so much better than any SMG, and better than the ARs on most maps. Compare it to the Vector. Go on, use the Vector, you'll understand why I bitch so much about that disparity.

And for the handguns, I still can't decide if the M9 is better than the USP. Slightly different situations for each I feel, based on distance and enemy counts.

Wow, after looking through Den Kirson's info you are absolutely correct. Apart from having only about half the range at full damage it is better in every other stat AND has 12 more bullets in the clip. It also reloads 3-tenths faster, as long as it is not empty, and sights in faster.

Suppose the only negative other than range in comparison with an AR is the retained bullet damage through materials. Interesting, never realized this.

Infinity Ward completely messed up on the UMP45's minimum damage. The UMP45's minimum damage should have been 20, instead of 35, like the rest of the SMGs. I also wonder why IW decided the UMP45 should have 32 bullets in a magazine. Magazines for the H&K UMP, in 9mm and .40 S&W, hold 30 bullets; the UMP45 magazines hold 25 bullets.

Recoil is less manageable when bursting the UMP45 at mid and long range, thus making single shots with the weapon much more important. I also find the front sight on the UMP45 to be too small and that hurts accuracy over longer range. The extra damage retention with an assault rifle through material is very nice.

And for the handguns, I still can't decide if the M9 is better than the USP. Slightly different situations for each I feel, based on distance and enemy counts.

If the M9 were to have a better set of iron sights, then I would be better able to comment on the weapon, but I find the M9's iron sights to be complete trash compared to the USP45 and have not used the M9 much for that reason. Now if I could have Akimbo M9s without having to get a bunch kills to unlock the attachment, I might like the weapon more.

Ah, that Pistol.

Been mostly using the RPD of late, having moved away from the Scar. Trying MP5K and the TAR on occasion too.

Mostly have thumper as my side arm or the PP2000 thing.

RPD is great, but I'd recommend FMJ+Grip setup. The gun is great at longer range.

As far as my go-to gun go, it still is the ACR. I had moved away from optic sights, using silencers. But for this gun, I've moved back, using the Holo-sight. Talk about a lazer rifle! :sly:

icelt: If you visit this thread, or play with Azuremen, you'd know everything about the UMP.

Yup, got the grip on the RPD, not unlocked FMJ yet I don't think. Think I have a scope on it.

ACR is awesome, but not unlocked it yet on this prestige.

Well I've only ever played MW2 on the 360 so I haven't had the fortune to play with you guys. However I do still visit the board on occasion, just 'cause I find the series that fascinating I guess, but I must've missed out on the UMP insights until now.

The only gun that ever felt truly right to me though is the ACR. Man I wish the ACR was in BO.

Little out of left field, fell across this istainsville dude yesterday somehow. Although it is BO he does a really good job of explaining how a team should be going about their business in CTF matches.

And an on topic vid, accuracy and rapid target acquisition are pretty impressive:

Smart player. I really like how he uses covers to his advantage. I try to do the same. 👍

I to try the same, but much more often fail . I think the real tactical skill demonstrated is his ability in using cover relative to the probability of threat direction. Meaning if he knows/predicts that the threat is most likely to his 12-3 o'clock then he's more than happy to leave his 9 o'clock out in the open. This is where I struggle... as evidenced by the number of times I get shot in the back :ouch: no cover there apparently ;).

Even more from left field...
West, Zampella add fraud charges to Activision suit
Former Infinity Ward heads tack on new charges in ongoing Modern Warfare dispute with publisher; seek to regain control of franchise through voided contract.

The days continue to tick away until Activision's court date with former Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West, but much still remains in flux. Last month, Activision succeeded in adding West and Zampella's purported co-conspirator Electronic Arts to its $400 million countersuit. Today, West and Zampella added two counts of fraud to their original complaint, which was initially filed shortly after the duo was fired in March 2010.

Fraud may not amount to a war crime, but it's certainly a concern in the civil theater.

In the amended complaint (a copy of which was obtained by GameSpot), West and Zampella allege that in March 2008, Activision entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the two then-Infinity Ward heads. According to the complaint, the MOU sought sought to secure their continued employment not only for their talent but also as an effort to close its impending merger with Vivendi.

The contract was designed to "address issues of significant concern to West and Zampella, particularly in the area of creative authority over the Modern Warfare games and the creation of a look, feel, and brand for the Modern Warfare games," the amended complaint reads. In addition to creative control, the MOU laid out a bonus plan that was tied to operating income generated by a set of eligible games, including Modern Warfare 2.

The complaint also emphasizes that Activision offered West and Zampella this deal because the two's continued employment was of vital importance to closing the Vivendi deal. "To protect its interest in consummating its merger with Vivendi Games, Activision needed to do everything it could to keep West and Zampella content with their responsibilities and compensation at Infinity Ward. This gave West and Zampella considerable bargaining power in their negotiations with Activision," the complaint states.

West and Zampella claim in their amended complaint that they remainded skeptical of this contract, as Activision had been less than committed to promises of greater autonomy and independence in the past. Through negotiations, though, West and Zampella claim they secured a deal that would see them having final say over any Modern Warfare-branded game or licensing activity.

However, as part of the final contract, Activision included a stipulation that this creative control and financial incentives were subject to West and Zampella's continued employment. The two allege that they expressed skepticism over this section, questioning whether they would simply be fired to circumvent the clause. To this concern, Kotick allegedly said to the two: "Don’t worry about it. It’s impossible for you guys to get fired.”

Because of these assurances, West and Zampella claim they did not push for a more strongly worded section or commitment from Activision. They subsequently signed the MOU, committing to three more years of employment at Activision under the assumption that they would operate as an independent studio in the vein of Blizzard Entertainment.

As to the new fraud charges, West and Zampella state that they now believe Activision never intended to honor their contract as it pertains to creative authority or the payment of bonuses.

"While paying lip-service to West’s and Zampella’s creative authority, in 2008 and thereafter, Activision began secret development of Modern Warfare and Call of Duty games and related products, and undertook other conduct in relation to these two videogame franchises that, under the MOU, required prior approval from West and Zampella," the amended complaint reads. "Activision did not inform West or Zampella of such plans or seek their input or approval for them. Indeed, while breaching the creative authority provisions of the MOU, Activision continued to pay lip-service to them, in an attempt to mask its secret development efforts."

Speaking to GameSpot, a lawyer representing West and Zampella indicated that in addition to actual and punitive damages, the two are seeking a rescission of the MOU. If granted, Activision would co-own the Modern Warfare brand with Vince and Zampella, which would give the two the right to release their own copies of the game. A voided contract would also give West and Zampella the right to create new games in the Modern Warfare franchise, he said.

Activision had not responded to a request for comment on the matter as of press time.

Mostly more of the same in the pissing match over money between the two parties but the bolded bit is what I find most interesting. So V&Z's new studio is Respawn right. The assumption is they are hot and heavy into production of their next game, which given their history and the amount of employees they siphoned off from IW has got to be another "realistic-ish" military based FPS right? So now their lawyers, undoubtedly with interjection from their bed mate EA, throw out the bombshell that V&Z want co-ownership rights of the Call of Duty name? Wow!

1 - to me this just about guarantees that they indeed plan to take on Activision head to head in the MW themed FPS environment.

2 - although maybe most likely just another means to encourage settlement, can you imagine Activision and EA competing toe-to-toe by releasing FPS with the same "Modern Warfare" name? That would just be totally wild and interesting to see how the consumer base would respond.

This reminded me of the James Bond series. One year, they had two James Bond films. I think the official one was the Octopussy with Roger Moore? Another featuring Sean Connery called Never Say Never Again. I could be wrong, but it was a same deal.

I highly doubt that I'd be getting another Call of Duty, or Modern Warfare, but if it was released from the EA-camp, there is a tiny chance I might get it. It's just that I do respect the two former heads from Infinity Ward, but EA is another publisher I with not to buy from.

I noticed that, too. Not that you get shot in the back alot, but that guy in the video leaving his back wide open at times. :p I play TDMs, so I couldn't do that. You gotta try to keep your back to the walls, outside the maps, etc. In TDMs, guys come from everywhere.

Over the last couple of weeks my form has been pretty decent, improved my K/D ratio by about 400 kills.

RPD with Grip and Holographic at the moment. My sniping form is even pretty good (silencer and ACOG iirc), which is rare.

I'm struggling big time. My k/d has now dropped .02(I have tons of kills/deaths, so it's a huge margin), and I'm struggling to maintain 1.5-ish k/d in TDMs. Last night, I had couple of games where I was in negative. Something's wrong with my head though, because my reaction's been slow. My DSL has been automatically robbing me of my first couple of shots. Been watching the replays, and when I die, it turns out I never even fired a shot! :dopey: Starting to get shot around the corner a lot, too. They haven't happened that much since CoD4, so something is wrong with my already slow Frontier DSL. But my mind is also lagging, as I haven't been able to catch a lot of the opposing players, and if my DSL is giving me a full second of lag, my slow brain is giving me another full second.

I've been catching up on sleep lately, I had another full sleep tonight. I hope I do better next time. :p

I personally find any optic sights on RPD an waste. RPD has one of the best open-sights, as you get a wide clear view, and front sight is very easy to read.

One time, I had RPD w/Grip with a Scavenger. You won't run out of ammo on RPD, obviously. But it was nice to be able to refill the claymores. RPD is horrible at run & gun, so claymores watching your back, cutting off flankers can be huge.

I switched the class the last night to use Holographic, it's not something I've used before (or at least, not a lot). Bit of an experiment really, I'm mostly wanting to upgrade my Barrett, but I don't really use it beyond Derail/Wasteland.

I just think you suck A6. Thats probably it.

Probably.

What part of my post gave you that idea!? Get off your high horse, and with your ha, ha, ha, high speed connection that lives up to its name & stuff.

Oh it does. It does.

But you wouldn't know about that.

Well I've only ever played MW2 on the 360 so I haven't had the fortune to play with you guys.

I have the same issue. It would be good to find all the 360 mw2 gtp'ers and organise a game.

I have the same issue. It would be good to find all the 360 mw2 gtp'ers and organise a game.

Even with the large number of MW2 players we had on PSN, we still had the connections speed issue due to most players coming from three major regions: U.S., Europe & Australia/New Zealand It's almost a treat to have a foreign guest, seriously. TheCracker/Dan is the only one I've played with numerous times, and usually, it's his idea to join. I love running TDMs with Dan, but one of us are fighting the other team, and the lag. We still have a lot of fun though, and we win more than we lose. :D

When I was on XBL, I mostly played with Empty Space, nk4e & breakpoint. It worked out OK for us, with all of us connecting within the U.S. I've played with James/G.T couple of times, and yeah, that was bit tougher. :D

TA: I think my verbal slap in DSL's face worked, because I had high-3 to 4 bar connections today. I did pretty good to some games nearly perfect. I had one clan that talked a lot of smack to me after I destroyed their team. All high-prestige, except they were the worst high-prestige players I have EVER seen. My game was still off, I was bumbling around, but they were even worse. Last match, none of them could reach double digit in kills.

I think its funny this game has been out a year and a half and some people are still complaining.

Who wants to do another GTP night this friday?

Let me just say that I hate you guys. I am in desperate need of blowing people away with my TAR and some SEMTEX.

Well I recently got rid of my 360 so I'm no longer part of the Live contingent I guess.

Interesting on the JB correlation, remember both movies quite well but had no idea they were released that close together and by different companies.

True in TDM things get more hectic, but he has a public TDM vid posted for BO.

Still similar stuff, I think one technique we all could easily employ is pre-firing known spots. IDK, maybe you guys already do this but I have this bad habit of waiting to see my target... for no apparent reason as all it does is help my pointless accuracy stat some. It's not like the MW/CoD games have a finite number of virtual bullets they can mfr .

Just imagine if it did. What if you had to get kills in order to buy more bullets. More expensive bullets would require more kills. Everyone would run around with an MP5k and a single M9 secondary. Quick scoping would be over and done with. No more 'nade spam either.

Who wants to do another GTP night this friday?

I am up for it.

One thing I am sometimes good about is firing as I aim down sight. It is not as helpful at mid to long range because the accuracy from the hip is not very good at those ranges; but in close quarters combat, it can be the difference in winning and losing an encounter.

Yeah, count me out on the accuracy stuff. For every kill I get, I usually kill every air, trees, grass, and whatever I can get away destroying along with my main target. Heck, sometimes I blow up the car to kill the guy next to it.

Mad skills, I agree......

Just sell some of your toys, your gun, whatever. See you Friday.
