How can you be overtaking without being at least close enough to slipstream? That would be like unlocking a door with your keys in your pocket.

say you are driving in lane 4 on a freeway, and you are driving faster than a person in lane 1. you will come up from their rear, overtake them, and speed away, yet never be close enough to slipstream

"Coupe" derives from the French for "to cut" and can refer to any car where the roofline drops dramatically to the rear of the car (not before the rear - to the rear).

by definition, a coupe is a car where the side window and roofline slopes downwards before the top of the rear windscreen. a sedan has a full height side window to the top of the rear windscreen

back on topic, the reason you must think that slipstreaming is when this "candy corn" *cough*ARROW*cough* icon appears when you slipstreaming them is because to slipstream is to go behind to make less friction, therefore going faster, in result of going faster than them. The same thing as well as cutting down the time in between in corners...I think,

I always thought of it as meaning that the AI driver was really trying hard, and pushing itself to the limit...which could be the cause of those sector time differences...

I agree with this.

If you watch a long race you notice the AI is gaining most distance while the icon is up Not After the fast sector.

& of course Pushing it faster will result in faster sector times.

Its a Indication that the AI is pushing it at that given moment.

Its verry aparent that while the Icon is up its going quicker, and as soon as it disapears the intecity of the AI Driver relaxes.

That would explain why my 318i is classified by the DMV as a 2-door Sedan... :dopey:

Hehe, I unlock doors with the keys still in my pocket all the time.
It's called wireless transmitter. Almost every new car in america has them!

Sorry, not to mince the meaning of a post but I couldn't resist.
