LOL- I was half joking, but really if you tune up a car to max and use RS tires, you should have no problems. I use same tires or less for a challenge and most are really easy but some can be a challenge. I use a wheel though.

Enter the room with comfort hard, then switch to Race Soft in the pre race options
I'm not sure if this trick still work but you might end up with easier opponents.

Put some aids on if the going is too tough. Recommend
Auto, driving line on, traction control 1, abs 1-3, brake control 5-3, race soft tires and skid recovery force on. Max out rear aero to gain rear traction instead of horse power and utilize full pp limit. Get a new car which will increase pp as u break in the engine. Take short cut if it does not run thru the grass or concrete. Find a car u like and that should win u the seasonals. If not, try again.

Use a wheel. If you already are, then keep practicing. Lots.

If you think your that bad, then spend some time in bspec. Watch the line AI takes, the speed of the corners, the gear they are in, the amount of throttle they use round corners, the lap times etc.

Then give it a try yourself in A spec races.

What I would suggest is the License Tests. This is sort of a driving school ad teaches you all the principals of racing. If you have already completed them then try for a better time on all.

If you haven't tried these tests then start at the first license and move your way up. You will experience many cars and will open you up to some of the cars for free. As you move up the licenses you will drive faster cars and be able to discover what driving aids you will need to be the quickest (personally I recommend: Auto gears, driving line, skid recovery force, and tc<5)

Aids are the key to driving fast if you are new to racing sims.

You could also try getting a friend to show you the proper lines/critique your technique mistakes in a private lounge. There's probably a few simple things that can make you a lot faster if you're finding it that hard.

There are some cars that are just bad for their PP and will be very difficult to win with when running similar tires to the AI, maybe impossible on some tracks (I'm looking at YOU, Marcos Mini at Tokyo Compact Race ) but just about anything should be able to win with RS tires.

I left school and i grinded to work my way up. I tried and earn a lot of things in my life I JUST WANTED ADVICE TO BE A BETTER DRIVER. WHATS THE PROBLEM HERE?

Already some good advice in this thread, but the best way to become fast is doing TTs. For instance the Eiger one that is on now; download one of the top 10 ghosts, hop in a good rally car and tear it up. Study the lines, gear choices and braking points. This will translate into race speed before you know it.

To answer your question, it takes a while to get used to a wheel. I bought a DFGT about a month ago and it used to it 2 weeks later. Once you get used to it, it will provide more speed. For example I greatly increased the gold and silver trophies I earned in the license tests, while decreasing the number of bronze trophies to 0.

Based on your answer to my question I'm guessing you are using a controller. When using a controller it is important that you map your controllers correctly.

I'm not saying there is one way only but there are a couple which prove to be better than the rest.

My setting are:
Steer Left/Right- left analog stick
Accelerate- Right Trigger
Brake- Left Trigger
Handbrake-Circle
Look Left/Right- Right analog stick
Look Back- Triangle

That's really all you need to race with a DS3.

I'd suggest either - giving up, or actually getting better.


I started this game in January 2011, I was horrible for the first 2 weeks (I used TCS 6, ASM on, used racing softs all the time, fully tuned cars etc.) since I was awful at GT5rologue.
My save game got messed up so I started a new account, I slowly started doing all the licences without Bronze medals, in the end I got them golded, by then I had 30.000km;
Then I went for golds in Special Events, by the time I reached AMG Begineer Sector 4 I had realised I have to use MT, I was at about 45.000km by then;
At about 115.000km I golded Vettel Challenge, a feat I would've never thought of achieving (I used a sixaxis at the time);
At about 120.000km I had achieved Platinum Trophy (still using sixaxis);
At about 125.000km I got the wheel;
And at 140.000km I qualified for GTP_Registry Division 1 Gold (highest ranking on GTPlanet, aka the best drivers).

Point here? If I managed to get from a TCS 6 guy to a Division 1 Gold - I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do something simple as winning an A-Spec event.

Ha I just had a huge facepalm after reading this. I was not aware you could turn your head left/right in GT5 I always had thought they need it. Well thank you for this.

I find it most useful during online races, seeing that's the only time I'm racing wheel to wheel. As soon as I switched to a wheel I realized that there would be a disappointing decrease in the adjustability of looking side to side.

When using an analog stick it gives a very realistic gradually turning, but with buttons it's 90 degrease to the left or right and that's it.
