The Ferrari looks kinda strange with a predominantly red front wing, mainly because they've used a white wing for such a long time.

The Ferrari looks like an oriental dragon-face from the front. :)

The Ferrari looks a little odd without Vodafone white, but I quite like it. It'll look better without the yellow plugs in the sidepods.

they dont need F1 to help boost their profile, as only lifting the championship trophy will do that which is a very hard task, and cannot be guaranteed regardless of how much money you plow into the project.

Nope. They need Le Mans and a rallying heritage to do that instead. And the amount of money and resources they put into the R8 race car did guarantee championship wins, because they scared any potential competitors away; for example, one of the reasons Cadillac stopped endurance racing at the end of 2002 was because it didn't have the ability to obtain an Audi-sized budget.

lol @ scared off potential competitiors. Lets face it privaters and small companies cant compete with major manufacturers. However I do find it amusing that the worlds largest manufacturer couldnt but together the funds to challenge the 5th largest manufacturer. (at the time)

And money doesnt guarantee success, it was audi's clever design in which the car was "lego like" allowing for quick repairs.

Anyone know what's the purpose of the tiny vent on the top of the front on the Ferrari?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the F2006. And it's surely not big enough to cool anything.

Cools the driver.

Nothing wrong with the overalls, but Alonsos haircut...sheesh! :)

The car looks sleeker than last seasons.

VODAFONE McLAREN MERCEDES MP4-22

(Valencia, Spain)

I don't like the very front of the nose of the Ferrari. Looks rather large and stubby. Neither am I used to the absense of white. The car will probably look better on track and I'm sure the looks will grow on me.

The Mclaren does look pretty sleek. I never have liked the nose that gets skinny high up and stays that way the whole way down. Looks like a saw-tooth shark. There is a bit too much reddish color on the Merc. Their red does not look good on TV, either. Alonso's hair is a bit of a mess. Is he trying to look like JPM? They look similar with the hair.

Toyota just looks like their previous car, which in turn looked like the 05 car. lol

I for one actually now love the Ferrari for it being all red, its a change that I really like and hope they stick with it for the season. The white was normally all about Marlboro sponsorship, but since they can't show the name, leaves them free for an all red car. Don't get me wrong, I don't support Ferrari in F1, but I like what they did.

McLaren looks interesting, especially around the lower back of the engine cowl with that secondary wing assembly, looks very freakin complex. I guess we all knew they were gonna keep the chrome paint, which in my opinion is good, because it really does make the car a stunner.

Crickey that McMerc is beautiful! Oh whilst browsing on F1.Racing.net I found this pic:

Has photo caption written all over it. ;) Looking forward to BMW's tomorrow.

As a 20-year-long fan of the sport, I don't know how you guys note the differences between the cars in the past 5-7 years. With few exceptions, they really do look quite alike except for the rear wing and nose-mounted wings. The paint schemes and sponsors give it away, but the cars seem to have very few outward differences from one another, due to the restrictive rules on car design.

Well I'm certainly not the best at distinguishing cars, the winglets tend to give it away.

And have you checked the side profile view of the ferrari!? Looks like it has grown a dorsal fin!

I personally like the rear rims on the Ferrari, they remind me of the old BTCC Hondas.

I'm not a supporter of Ferrari in F1 either, but it sure looks nice, they may grow on me.

My favourite team Mclaren have so-far the worst looking car IMO, i think they could have done it a bit better.

Hmmmm, not much changes on that car. Sidepodwings, and a sleeker enginecover is about all I can see. The front looks pretty much like it did last season.
Bland car! Much like the Toyota.

I love these high-res images, GTChamp. Where do you get them?

Kimi looks bored lol

When doesn't he, he's working remember..

As for the BMW launch, i was expecting more from the car, it seems pretty basic compared to both McLaren and Ferrari, hopefully they can do well, just not too well. [fanboy]Don't want them overtaking Honda now..[/fanboy]

Damn, the Renault is looking more and more like Le Batmobile (the 1990's version). So many darn aero bits it's almost hard to find the actual tub of the car.

They had to compensate for the mass damper system somehow. I am liking the paint scheme on the Renault. So far it looks the best.

The Renault more then probably won't be that blue anyway since it's got Dutch sponsors and dutchmen always wants their stuff in orange :boggled:

I like the current pics:

Toyota: Not that much different, but I spot a thinner nose, slightly bigger fornt wing, a la BAR, the rear wing is more bended as well, I like it, I don't like total make-overs.
Ferrari: Sexy! Back to their old style, I liked it better with white but it looks like it's going to give the others a real blast 👍
Mclaren: I really like it 👍 Not too much different from last year, even smaller then Toyota from what I see but the colors fit in beautifully, sure it will be, again, the best looking car on the grid 👍
BMW: The nose seems flatter and thicker, as well as the colors seeming to be brightened up to stand out more, it seems a bit shorter as well as a bit higher then before... I like the looks of it, but I'm sure they've got the ugliest driver package
So far Renault shots: Weird...But looks likes it's planning to pwne the field...

Again, I like them, I don't like total make-overs like BMW-Williams did back in '04 with the most ugly looking front wing ever...
