I think once you have seen a Quattro S1 E1 Rally car at full wack in 1985 on a rally stage the power of 5 pot engines stays with you for ever.

I have never seen one of VW V5 engines always wonderd how they ran.

Also didnt Renault use a 5 pot engine think they shared it with Volvo & Fiat somtime in the 90,s I think remeber them being on the old Top Gear.

Just listen & you'll know why. :D

And with a small ecu tune you can easily beat an R8 (V8), an Evo, an M3 or an Porsche. 👍

That is an inline 5. A V5 is something Volkswagen put in the Jetta that could be looked at as having two cylinder banks, one with 3 cylinders, the other with 2.

Next to Wankels, 5 pots have always fascinated me by the possibility of finding a true compromise between fuel economy/cc and horsepower in relation to the other equation of power to weight r.
Does anyone have the definitive list apart from the one Griffith500 posted? Maybe TS can put them all up? Including anything new that we find?
The smoothness of an odd-number seems to apply in many disciplines. . . .
