Change gold time for Vettel Challenge?

Should the Gold times for the Vettel Challenges be increased?

Obviously the S.V. Challenge is extremely hard one,
There have peoples successfully Gold it whatever using wheel or Ds3,
I don't know why there need to have a discuss about lower the difficulty or not.
Just because " It's too hard for me ,please give me a chance to get pass!! "?
I don't think this is a reason .
Challenge is Challenge.
Everyone have a choice to Give Up.

Why we need achieve the faster time?
 
You know, I've stated countless times that the times are elitistically low. And that I believe they should be changed. That's cool, it's just my opinion, but it's no reason to quit trying, even if you never do it. If the times change, awsome, but while they haven't, they are my goal. Only Suzuka left.
 
Ok, I think people are really confused.

Vettel Challenge is just a stupid commercial hype, it is not Gran Turismo, it is rubbish. (Yeah I golded it, so what, it is just absurd and surreal, not worth anything but satisfying an obsession).

It is REALLY hard to gold, yeah, and it is SO sad that PD came up with some idiotic fantasy contraption to give us the BEST, the HARDEST...

Really sad... The Hardest should have been something iconic and "real" so to speak.

Why is nobody complaining about Eiger on Gran Tour? That one is very hard to gold too, but guess what, that one IS Gran Turismo, not The Jetsons.
 
Eiger is not very hard Diesel pump. It's just perfectly doable.

I'm more than 4 tenth under gold. There are people who 6 or 7-tenth under gold..
There are people who got it golded after 2 tries.. It was not a super hard challenge.. Just a decent challenge.

And it IS Gran Turismo, not a sci-fi crap.

P.S. Vettel Challenge is perfectly doable too with golds, but it is NOT doable for most guys, plus, that is Wipeout, not Gran Turismo.
 
I still haven't beat Eiger Nordwand on grand tour... I have tried it like 30-40 times and still only got silver... just barely. For the X challenge... I have gold on monza. Which was hard and took a long time. But the other two, I only have bronze (pre-patch bronze). I'm closer to silver in both... but it really feels impossible to do much better. If they would let us change the downforce, I could almost guarantee I'd get gold pretty quick.

This difficult when you don't understand OFF Throttle is how important of this event. (I'm noob, That's Took me 24 working hours for this )
 
Fueled by this thread I went on getting gold/silver on this challenge.
It's ridiculous, I'm using sixaxis and after 2 hours I've only been able to get 0.300 away from silver.
There is no way and I repeat no way I can get gold with my current setup.
The problem is the shere speed of the thing - if I use FPV camera the speed is too great and I'm not able to perform hyper-speed calculations in fractions of a second.
If I use TPV camera I can handle the speed but then I don't have the accuracy.
But the biggest problem is the lack of feedback from the car, in other words the car itself, if it was any other car it'd be very easy.
This challenge is really impossible to do without a wheel (yes I know some people have golded it without a wheel but that's like 100 people at max from 5000000 people - 0.002%) and having to buy a wheel just if you want to gold is really a sad move from PD trying to take money from us.
Also, I'm not bad at this game (all golds apart from this challenge).
 
There's other stuff I can't beat as well... IC license... 1000m stop. Took me 40+ tries, and I finally got it today. It's not about skill, it's about trying to get close and leaving the rest to random chance. But I went to watch the replay of me getting gold, I could hear it playing but the screen was black, then the game locked up. In my community log thing it says I got gold, but it shows silver on the license. There are several other license tests I have trouble with as well.

Anyway, I tried the X Challenge on Nurburg and got 0.571s from Silver. Can't believe how much better I've gotten with this car. I used to always run off the road, now I always make it, and always get near Silver. But like I said... If I could change the downforce it would be much easier. The car is far from it's full potential as it is in the X Challenge. I ran my personal X2010 in Nurburg GP/F in practice... with downforce maxed... I got a 1:01 lap pretty easily. When my best in the challenge is around 1:04.5 (second lap of course).
 
Instead of changing gold times, they should just change Suzuka, it's impossible. I haven't been able to finish a lap!! How is it possible that I go from golding Monza and Nuburgring to not being able to finish Suzuka.

^ For Suzuka, just aiming for the middle of each corner on the esses, very easy to gain time if you know how to. And Degner 1 can be taken flat;)

Most people who have achieved gold in this have done it by persevering, it takes longer than 2 hours. It took me about 6hrs to move from all silver to all gold(G27), and to be honest, I still don't know where I found that last second at Suzuka and Nurburgring.

Not aimed at anyone speciflc:
As I've read somewhere on here before: It's called the Sebastian Vettel Challenge, not the Sebastian Vettel cakewalk.

I agree before the patch, it was difficult to control with the DS3, but since the sensitivity option was added, I think they've got it right.
 
^^ What he said. People that cannot get Golds simply shouldn't have the other versions of the x2010. That includes me, a challenge is a challenge.

This is actually not true. Degner cannot be taken flat-out with a DS3. Unless you keep the car in 3rd gear that is. I was doing some research and comparison between wheel cockpit views and mine as cockpit view and I found out that using the analog stick to turn, the wheel @ the x2010 did not turn a full 90 degrees compared to wheel cockpit videos in which I saw the wheel turn a full 90 degrees. Degner cannot be taken flat out using analog stick, most far you can get is about the second curve before understeering the third.
 
^ Really? I did it using the DS3 and did manage to keep Degner flat, although you need to brake almost immediately for Degner 2:odd:

Are you keeping the steering sensitivity set all the way to 7? It's still a very fine line between getting it wrong or right. It's probably by pure luck that I managed to do so for 2 laps.
 
I agree these are some very hard challenges.
But there is no need to adjust the gold times imo.

I spent about one and a half hour trying to Gold Suzuka today.
After an hour I got 02'10.098 :nervous:
After an hour and 10 minutes a got 02'10.052 :indiff:

I knew it could be done, so I kept in trying...

After about one and a half hour suddenly a 02'09.830 popped up.

This gave me a beautiful carbon X2010 :drool:

So yes, the can all be golded, but it will take a lot of time, a lot of practice and a lot of patience.
Also yes, this is the most frustrating challenge in the game.

I did it with a logitech G25.

First off, I wanted to say congrats on golding the nurb, well done 👍

As zed mentioned, it is possible to go flat out on degner (as well as the first left-right on the esses) with a DS3. I managed to do it a few times, a quick tap on the brakes definitely worked best for me though, in order to make sure the car would be positioned correctly going into the next corner.

^ have not found a way to take that curve flatout. I need to brake in order to complete it. But I barely get to practice it since I usually get DQ'd on the s-curves.
 
Yeah, timing needs to be very precise or you will most likely end up being DQ'd. If done right, it will shave a couple tenths off your lap time, I just felt more comfortable braking and did just fine.

This option was the closest thing to "it can be done".
It isn't easy, that's for sure, but it can be done.
And I did it with an hour of 5 practice.
Without practice these challenges are as hard as any other special event...

So if you need to practice more than that it necessarily means they should just make it better?

As others have stated before it's a challenge, even if you practice a month there's no real assurance that you'll get it, it's meant to be a real test of your skill, since after all you're matching the times of a F1 driver who has experienced insane speeds and cornering forces first hand and has more than 1 month experience with such things.

Personally, I haven't golded the challenges and don't know if I ever will, despite this, I voted that they should stay as they are.
 
So, looks like 93 players are wheel owners. Or uber skilled DS3 players, but i don't think so.

I want to see how much of the PD crew can beat the S.Vettel challenges with a DS3. :lol:

I goldished till now everything except the S.Vettel challenges (only bronze) & i am still testing out how to beat it with the DS3. I'll give my vote here when the testing is done.
My current settings are Active Steering: Strong, ABS: 1 & everything else: Off. Feels till now the best setup for DS3.

If someone really goldished it with the DS3, please let me know your settings. Thanks. 👍
