Haha, yeah, I understand. :p

So it should be sunny this weekend, meaning not much chance of scrambled grids! I just want this to be race between the two contructors with no interferances!

Also Renault have a special 1 race engine for this weekend – E spec or F spec … I’ve lost count!

Blake

More like Chi-spec.

Hopefully the pacecar won't be a JiangLing Landwind.

Dennis V. of Renault said this about the "one time engine."

Denis, the team will introduce its final engine specification of the season in Shanghai. Tell us about it…
The strategy throughout the season – be it with a new engine, or halfway through a two-race cycle – has been to provide our drivers with the best possible compromise between performance and reliability. Obviously, for China, the reliability demands are somewhat different, as the engine only needs to complete a single race weekend, and the specification of the engine takes account of that.

So, the team has developed a special one race engine…
No, that’s not the case – it isn’t a separate part of our technical programme. The idea of a one-race engine implies we have developed a different engine, which certainly isn’t the case. That would have been an inefficient use of resources, given that we couldn’t guarantee it would have been needed…

How do you describe the new E spec then?
Well, when it came to taking the decision on the specification to which the engines would be built, we had certain components that were capable of lasting 700 km – but not yet 1400 km. That meant they were not ready for any other races, but potentially were for China. Some of those parts are major enough to justify a change in its specification code – making it an “E”. But it has not been developed specifically for this race, rather it includes components that are currently appropriate for an engine life of 700 km.

What advantages does it bring?
Well, it gives us a better overall performance package. Which means, not only is it an intrinsically more powerful engine, but it gives us more options in how we use the engine over the race weekend. It will be a concrete step forward in lap-time.

sounds bad. whats the weather going to be like? its spring in china isnt it?

it would be interesting if a car other then a renault or mclaren could win. if both cars are running new spec engines i could see it happening.

whats bar doing for this race? does one of the cars get a new engine for this race?

Apparantly weather will be good.

I haven’t actually heard anything about McLaren using a new engine this weekend. I thought they stopped engine development over a month ago…

BAR are still using the Suzuka engine. Button will be using his one from Suzuka and Sato will get a new one I believe (because he got his first Suzuka one at Brazil). I doubt they’d make a new engine just for Sato, he’s definatly not worth the resources.

Blake

whats the temp going to be around?

all i ment was is the other car getting a new engine. i thought it was time for the 2nd car to get one but wasnt sure.

china is on the other side of the earth so i would think it being fall here it would be just getting warm there.

so does sato go out first then?

Yawn yet another McMerc ownage on the cards...

So what lap we betting the engine goes? :)

And what did i tell you about Rubens...
:sly:

“At the moment, Michael appears to be a bit slower than Rubens, so we need to understand why that is.”
—Ross Brawn

Oh god, he makes it sound like there’s a problem with the car…

Maybe... Ever so maybe, Rubens is plain faster than MS round this track, how far are Ferrari up MS's ass!?

So there are rumours that Button may not be feeling well enough to race. Apparantly he has been sick for the past few days.

Blake

why shouldnt they be?

If it wasnt for MS, ferrari wouldnt be what they are.

Ohhhhhh so Sato's plan has come to reality...

Small_Fryz

But its Rubens last race for the team, they could just give them equal rights.... right?

Remember, Rubens did win this race last year … while Michael spun like 3 times.

Blake

Yeah, for once he was mortal on the track, he started from the pits too.

De La Rosa has finished a good season on top again then, thats good to see, what do you think the chances are that he will get the second seat at Williams or first seat at Midland?

Unlikely on both accounts. Though, he definatly has a better chance at Midland.

Blake

Well I dunno, Midland would want some kind of experience preferibly, I would have thought De La Rosa would be near the top of their list along with Ant Davidson.

You need to find out how seasons and the earth works.

China is in the northern hemisphere the same as you are, so they are in the same season that you are. If it was in the southern hemisphere, then it'd be a different matter....

Hence why Australian GP is in March, over there it would be the end of summer.

You mean over here

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Do we know whos in rubens seat next year? i dont know :(

Wait, isn't China on the moon. It is getting warm there now...

uggh!

You replied to his inane statement more respectfully than I could have!

Bee
That would be Filipe Massa.
No, that would be Felipe Massa. :sly:

About Ferrari, Rubinho can get better car settings than MS in some tracks, maybe that´s the case.

I dunno why De la Rosa is being so underrated. He's far better than other drivers on the grid, like Sato, Pizzonia, Villeneuve, Klien (far, far from Klien) and the list goes on. He drove with Minardi & Jaguar in the past, but it doesn't count...

I won't forget 2005 Bahrain..
