I don't want to put these as links because my free account doesn't have enough bandwidth and it'll get shut down. But here you go. The last one is a cel-shaded image I made in Photoshop from a picture of the car.

On-topic (slightly), I don't consider it a sports car. I'd say it is a 'sporting' sedan. I'm glad you guys like it!

@ MF1: it's an ATX with navigation (wife's car). It's surprisingly fun to drive even with the automatic; probably the best ATX I've ever driven.

Pretty nice looking one there.
Although, like I said, I sort of prefer the styling of the TL model.

how about fittin a blown big block in a civic?!?!
I went to the "drags" and i saw a saturn with a blower and it was pretty quick

Someone actually did that... fitted a small block into a CRX, looks like a funny car and goes like stink!

According to Wikipedia.org:
A sports car is a type of automobile designed for sporting performance. While opinions differ as to the exact definition, most sports cars have two seats and two doors, and are designed to excel at a combination of acceleration, top speed, braking, and maneuverability. Great emphasis is often placed on handling—the ability of the car to remain in the control of the driver under challenging conditions such as when the car's tires begin to lose their grip on corners.

A large, powerful engine is not required; many of the early British sports cars lacked a powerful engine and did not accelerate as quickly as, say, muscle cars, but were known for having exceptional handling characteristics due to their combination of light weight, carefully engineered/balanced chassis and innovative suspension designs.

If we were to accept this definition of a sports car, a Honda Civic can be sporty and may not be a "true" sports car, but it can be considered a sports car.

For me, I would not want a "sports car" that sacrifices maneuverability and handling for a few more HP.

hmm the crx does seem very sporty... and i agree with a sports car having balanced power and handling... but something with more power than handling is I guess a Muscle car... but I'm still not sold on the GARDEN varitey (as someone put it) civic being a sports car. It's almost like putting some mods and rims on a geo metro and calling it a sports car.

ok that geo example sucks what I am trying to ask is... does putting performance tires and some engine tuning mods on a car not necessarily considered a sports car make that car a sports car. for example i don't think that if i put some work into my car(pictured in my avatar) it would be a sports car. some people have called it sporty. It is an st and if I were to upgrade it to a comparable gt or better then would it be considered a sports car?

Well for one thing, I don't think the Wikepedia should be quoted as an actual definition of a sports car. As for a sports car, I've not heard of a single sports car that isn't RWD. Perhaps there is the rare AWD one, but it takes more than being "sporty" to be an actual "sports car". Sports cars are designed as sports cars, and have a certain poise and character to them. They are cars that serve equally well motoring through mountain twisties as they do being parked by a valet at an expensive restaurant or cruising the boulevard with a gorgeous (not "hot") woman riding shotgun on your way to the opera. They are designed for driving only and are impractical for anything more than a weekend trip for two to the country. They certainly don't have back seats, and can never have 4 doors. A CRX is NOT a sports car, even though it may perform rather well, and a Civic will never be considered by a rational person to be a sports car.

EF civics are definantly muh favorite model, then the EG. I was also kinda shatted off that the used the model before it and the model after, leaving this one out -_-`. Not happy Jan.

Then again, most things dont exactly make me happy these days. Apart from knowing people have the pleasure of driving hondas 👍

Im currently in the market for an EF civic if someone wants to sell me one from NSW Australia, PM me.

Alright, since this is a Honda Civic thread, I've got a real life question regarding the two Civic race cars in GT4.

What race series did they run in?

Tachijts ( i think thats how its spelled.. sorry if its wrong) knows a far bit about the subject and posted some info on the gathers civic on pg 4.

even if a car didnt race in something but it had a car using the same parts whats the difference?

i love the EF. i own an 89 model.

i think i just made a new best friend.

is it possible you could ship it to muh doorstep?..lol.. is it a sedan or hatch?

its a sedan. i had to search for it on the net to find a nearly rust free model with a 5 speed. its cardianl red.

as to shiping it... even if i wanted to sell it shiping would cost more then the car i'm sure...

pSI civic
the only problem was a dead battery. lol. its a good car. here are two pics. the date is wrong. this is back when i got it in november of last year.

Well nice thought, but i cant d/l em.. :( the picture comes up with a little X in the corner.

EDIT; i take it your a mod at that site?. I havent got time to look through the site tonight.. but the thought of a site dedicated to muh fav civic makes me salivate.

most people dont know that honda has a very long racing history. they all just think that they have always been building fuel sippers. i'm glad to say thats not true.

Why isn't this car in GT4?:

You know... I can't say why they would leave that '95 LM car out. :irked:

With how many other cars they put in the game this just serves as another example of PD's screwed up priorities.

What?
80hp Diahatsu Hatchback or NSX LM Racer?
I'll have the daihatsu please- I'm on a diet.

No for real... That car as well as many others should have been included.
Just the same, many of the cars should have been left out. :D
That includes a few hondas too!

That includes a few hondas too!
A few? Three quarters of them should have been left out. Keeping most of the NSXs, however, because you can actually race them!

Screwed up is right... put in a mess of 64 hp Kei cars and leave the Daihatsu Charade GTTi (100+ hp on a turbo 600cc engine, 7sec to sixty lightly modified), the only Kei car worth having? Leaving out the Suzuki Swift GTi? Again, a ton of Kei cars and they leave out the important ones. Also, having the FF Toyota Starlet when the Starlet to have is the Turbo 1.3 FR Starlet? And where's the AWD Turbo 323 from Mazda? Over a dozen Miatas and we don't get that?

And the Nissan 3.5SE Altima (the second fastest FF Car on the market, 0-60 in 5.6), the Nissan Pulsar GTi-R, the Ford Cosworth Escorts and Sierras, almost any Saab, almost all Volvos, and... and... and... pardon me... I'm going to pass out now...

Actually, the number of Hondas are just right... all they're missing are trim levels. It's just everyone else gets short-shafted.

Im pretty sure they had that NSX in GT1. I was only a whipper schnapper at the time, so i could realy make much money at all as far as racing went. but i managed to save as much as i darn well could. And finally the day came that i could afford to buy he dam thing.. Ofcourse i couldnt control it, but i just sat there looking at it.. :)
