I was gonna get Oasis instead last night but I got this. I thought at first it was gonna suck but when I got home and listened to it I liked it. So does anyone else have it?

I've had it for a few days. I'm going to listen to it now, just for you TheCracker. 👍

;)

Feel free, as long as it stays clear of my ears then i'm fine.

Actually, I don't like it that much. I like "White Shadows" and "Speed of Sound" but none of the others so far. Maybe the second half of the album is better.

:indiff:

Got it yesterday while at Best Buy. It's not to bad, a little to easy for me but someone told me that it wasn't to bad so I just went out and bought it.

I'd rather go and boil my head than listen to Coldplay
I don't much like the first album, I love the second album, I'm wondering what this third album is going to be like.

I played the "X&Y" through once, last night. To be honest, I didn't like it as much as their two previous CDs. I'll give it few more tries though. Not many CDs blow your mind on the first try. ;)

so true. feeders YWTS was like :ouch: when i first listened to it. about 5 plays of the CD and i was hooked

I'm not gonna buy a CD for one song. I like Speed of Sound but not enough to put down 18 bucks for a new CD.

I wouldn't have bought it for over $15, but many stores have it on sale for under $10 this week.

Had this album about an hour, fantastic so far, always liked coldplay though.

Edit: Speed of Sound and Talk are currently my faves.

Not everyone wants to listen to hard, fast, rock all the time...or thumping rap. This is just relaxing music.

Ever since I taught myself how to play Trouble on the piano, Coldplay rules my face.

I haven't gotten X&Y yet, but I know that Speed of Sound is on it, which is a pretty decent song.

I like it, it's no A Rush of Blood to the Head but it still rules nonetheless. I also picked up their Live 2003 CD/DVD combo for $9.99. 👍

So far so good... 3 songs stand out on this album.

White Shadows
Speed of Sound
Low

I'll get round to listening to the other tracks when I'm sick of hearing these 3 👍

I got X&Y a couple days ago and it is amazing. A couple of my favs are fix you, speed of sound, and low. I'm not really into calm music like this but coldplay is one of my favourite bands. I have parachutes, X&Y, and A Rush Of Blood To The Head.

Ok so i've had this album for a while, sorry to bring up an old thread but has anyone figured out the front cover yet? What does it mean? there is a key chart in the centre fold of the cover, its really annoying me - none of the symbols match up!!!

Anybody solve this?

I was wondering that myself. Legos?

Looks like it was a code afterall: http://top40.about.com/od/trivia/a/coldplaycode.htm

Album cover spells out 'X&Y' in code
Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, is a self-proclaimed intellectual nerd. The cover of the band's latest album X&Y may be all the proof we need that he's right.

Shortly after release of the album, a number of the band's fans wondered if there was any particular significance to the arrangement of colored blocks on its cover. It turns out that there is and the blocks are arranged in a code developed in 1874. The code uses visual representations of 1's and 0's in a 5 digit sequence corresponding with particular letters of the alphabet and typographic symbols. It is considered by many to be the first truly digital form of communication and was a primary language used for telegraphy until it was replaced by Morse Code in the 20th Century.

Now I've listened to it many times, I have to say this album is one of the best ever!
So many beautiful songs :)

Are Coldplay the best band in the world at the moment?

IMO - most songs sound the same, lyrics are really bad in some songs (not all)
