Played this a bit tonight in the Pro Tour rooms, came across a couple of people doing the lap glitch so I thought I'd see what they do. Turns out it's such an easy glitch to exploit, now whenever I see someone try it I can skip along with them and keep annoying them until they quit.

Also everyone in Pro Tour Time Bomb is terrible or I've got magically better since I've been chasing down Drag. Beat Dallenbachs every time with my Eclipse GT, got accused of cheating a few times because they couldn't believe the speed even though I was only doing fairly standard times (around 2:55 both ways at Utah).

:lol: I usually give them an ear bashing and send various well worded PSN messages, might give that a try though maybe the outcome will be better than 'lol'. That glitch annoys the hell out of me.:crazy:

It's such a ridiculously easy glitch to exploit though, I experimented with it a little more tonight to see if I could get some exact triggers. I can pretty much do it every attempt now(eg. finish a 5 lap race in less than 30 seconds) and I only learnt how too by observing someone else yesterday. The hardest part is the first lap skip, you have to be dead precise but after that you can do it in 4 seconds. Lap leaderboard only registers lap-times as low as 15 seconds.

I'm glad nobody has actually posted instructions of how to do it on the internet or I'm sure we'd see it happen so much more, maybe Codemasters would actually do something about it then....hmmm..should I post how?
 
I'd be amazed if Codemasters knew the glitch, the dev tends to be one of the last to find out as they don't go around in public internet circles. It took us about 2 years to find out just how they were exploiting one specific part of our game.

Reproducability is everything in bugs and glitches, if we can't produce it ourselves, we can't do anything about it. Send an e-mail on to them saying how to do it.
 
Now that it's platinumed...I might get rid of Dirt 2. But I haven't decided yet. I know Shift is going away. But we'll see about Dirt 2. I mean, Dirt 3 is coming soon and there are more games I want to play....but, again, we shall see.

To be honest I doubt they will even care, it isn't widely known and Dirt 3 is coming up soon.

I think if it was passed on they'd want to ensure it can't be exploited in the build that gets released as Dirt 3.

Well, I didn't get rid of Dirt 2. So, it's nice to have a decent rally game, you know. And Sega Rally sucks worse than Dirt 2, so...anyways, I'm playing through Heavy Rain, at the moment, but don't be afraid to send me an invite. I might be up for gettin' dirty so I can wash the mud off in the rain. :P

I may be going online after the football (Rugby League) finishes at around 10PM Australian eastern standard time (2PM GMT).

i loved the online in this game but havent really gotten the chance to get back into it unfortunately. i may see if you guys are online some time if i get the chanec to play dirt 2.

We didn't see a DiRT 2 thread here...lovely to find one though!!! We have a whole dedicated DiRT 2 Team over at Reflex Motorsport...if you guys ever wanna race with some of us look us up.

Well myself and Aldo are planning a decent session this weekend (possibly both days) as I'll have my wheel back up and he got his this week as posted above.

I'm not sure when I'll appear on Saturday but Sunday I should have plenty of time to kill 👍. Just posting to try and get numbers up, I'll be locking to headcam as well for an extra element of danger in the races :lol:.
 
Had a few decent races last night. I tried the Escort for the first time an it wasn't as bad as I thought it wa gonna be with a wheel. 👍
Also, don't forget to get on Dirt this weekend. I'll be available to play on Saturday afternoon and all of sunday!

If only we had known it was talk like a pirate day... I only found out when we started playing CoD :(
