I'm watching the Rutgers at USF game right now. Damn! Does B.J. Daniels (QB, USF) have an arm or what? He completed a wicked 58-yard deep pass play a few minutes ago! I swear this guy is a dependable QB if you want to do a Hail Mary pass.

It's 6-0, South Florida with 1:31 left in the first half right now.

Ah...B.J Daniels...the only guy in the Big East who was close to Geno production wise while we were in there.

That kid is dangerous.

He's also ugly.

/burn

But he's one heck of an athlete. Don't really care about Big East, so I'm watching NFL instead.

It's only week #3 into the season and things are looking fairly well / as expected for most teams out there. There have been a few stumbles here and there, teams regrouping, etc., etc., etc., some other issues here and there as well.

Going into week 3, do you see any teams that need "that sense of urgency win" ?
Who may be stumbling, who needs that "lifter upper" ? Who needs to get that monkey off of their shoulder ?

I'll keep my "urgency needed win" in the Big 10 ...... Wisconsin Badgers. I am not picking on the Badgers, I am just pointing something out.

The defending Big 10 Champs are not looking very good at all (even though they are 1 - 1). They were supposed to have a cakewalk this year, but it looks like somebody stole that cake away from them. Adding to their problems was the firing and hiring of the offensive line coach.

Week #1 saw them eek by Northern Iowa 26 - 21.
Week #2 saw them lose to Oregon State 10 - 7.
Week #3 sees the Badgers at home facing a 2 - 0 Utah State Aggie team.

Wisconsin ... it's now or never. You lose this one, your in deep stuff.

Does one hit the panic button yet ?

Rutgers is the first team to 3-0 this year (maybe the ONLY time they are first to that) as South Florida continues its hatred of Thursday, losing 23-13. After tying the game at 13, South Florida went into a mode of very poor decisions. A pick in the end-zone which would have tied the game late in the 3rd quarter was the first problem (one that they rectified though). The second was letting Jawan Jamison run in for a score with 1:19 left as he torched them with a 41 yard run while Rutgers was up 3. The final was on the very next play. Rutgers kicked the ball fairly deep and.... nobody on South Florida decided the ball was important to touch. Okay, USF is down by 10 with less than a minute to go but you can't do THAT! Rutgers then went on to run out the clock and improve to 6-2 all-time vs. USF and the USF Bulls fell to 0-9 (!) all-time on Thursdays. Maybe they should schedule games for other days.

It was 23-13 in favor of the Scarlet Knights tonight. Breathe a bit easier, Blitz24. Did you know that the University of South Florida is now 0-9 ALL TIME on Thursday night? So they'd even lose to Eastern Michigan or Savannah State if they played them on Thursday nights! They could even lose to Texas Southern or some other non-NCAA, non-FBS school if they can't find the Thursday night magic.

Yeah, I mentioned it in the closing sentence. Well, good news for them is that that's their last Thursday game of the season. The bad news is that their annual collapse may be starting before October.

Just to throw this out there, I love watching Skip Holtz rot in Tampa :). It's just very rewarding to see a traitor get his just desserts.

One other game played last night was a SWAC match between Mississippi Valley State at Southern. That game ended up 6-0 in favor of the MVSU Delta Devils. They are now 1-1 on the season. The Southern Jaguars are now 0-2.

Tonight's game is Washington State at UNLV. The Running Rebels will try to tame the Cougars of Washington State University in Las Vegas. Good luck to both teams tonight.

Congrats to Pitt (never thought I'd say it) to beating Virginia Tech fashionably.

Oh, and anyone else see De'Anthony Thomases' 59 yard (untouched!) TD run?

11 Rushes. 244 Yards. 4 TD's. THIS SEASON.

Not. Fair.

It sure was nice of Cal to let Ohio State off the hook and win that game.

ECU win and a Carolina loss.

Let's just hope I can type a repost of this in seven days time.

I was watching that ECU game (They dont show WVU games in Illinois), and how your guy got away with that Fumble TD, I don't know...

Meanwhile, Geno is going ham in FedEx Field...34-39, 411 Yards, 5 TDs, end of 3rd Quarter...WVU up 42-5...Paul Millard comes in, Geno's day is done...

He has 9 incomplete passes this season, and 9 TDs...#Geno4Heisman

There was no camera angle on the goal line, so it wasn't officially "indisputable," and I'm pretty sure the officials weren't sure what to do with the ball because the inherent fumble went unrecovered and our 4 guys were closest. You could put it on the 1, but the call made was probably the best.

Pittsburgh has been the real stunner for me from the scores I've seen. Most surprising was by how much PITT took down VT in Pittsburgh.

* Both NCAA Division 1 Tallahassee schools won today in beatdowns, and both in Tallahassee- Florida State and Seminole Nation stomped all over Wake Forest 56-0, and former FCS National Champion Florida A&M beat Hampton 44-20.

* No Tyler Wilson, no problem? Well, if you thought Arkansas would do just fine hosting #1 Alabama, then explain the 52-0 "pwnage" ARK took.

* California Polytechnical University (Cal Poly) went to Wyoming and beat them 24-22. The Cowboys couldn't do much of anything against the Cal Poly Mustangs.

* As of the initial time of this post, Fresno State hung five touchdowns on Colorado in the first quarter alone. As of the time of this post (10:00 PM Central Daylight Time), Fresno State leads Colorado 62-7.

* My buddy FoolKiller would be sad that his Wildcats lost 32-31 in Overtime against the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky.

* Missouri held off the heat from the Arizona State Sun Devils to win 24-20 in Columbia, MO.

* East Carolina University and their Pirates stormed into Hattiesburg, MS and tamed the Golden Eagles of Southern Mississippi 24-14.

* It was 54-17 as Duke's Blue Devils eviscerated the Eagles of North Carolina Central University.

* In trouble for most of the game, Baylor's Bears managed to storm all over the Sam Houston State Bearkats 48-23.

* It was College Station (Texas A&M) vs. Dallas (SMU) in Dallas. College Station won. BIG- as in 48-3 big.

* Georgia Tech blasted Virginia 56-20 in Atlanta.

* No heartbreak this time- Penn State sunk Navy's battleship at Penn State. The effort was a 34-7 victory for the Nittany Lions.

Congratulations to all other winners.

What a game in Palo Alto! Down goes the giant that is USC!

DOWN GOES #2 USCal! DOWN GOES #10 MICHIGAN STATE! Two stunners from tonight's games.

WVU's ranking should be up a few tidy spots tommorow afternoon. =D

Not surprised SC lost. 1-6 vs Stanford.

I am.

Matt Barkley has everything he needs to be a successful QB...two of the nations best wideouts in Marquise Lee and Rob Woods PLUS a All-Pac 12 Caliber RB in Silas Redd.

Oh well, when I see Sports Illustrated's Heisman Tracker on Thursday, I expect seeing Geno on top. =D

Good day. Carolina loss (especially when you saw no "Go Tar Heels!" Facebook posts when UNC was down 39-14 but they all magically appeared out of the woodwork when it was 39-31, etc.), Duke blowout, and ECU win against a top C-USA team.

Next week, ECU heads to Chapel Hill for the most important game remaining in the season (barring a conference championship) and Duke plays Memphis. Two wins would be surreal.

Next week Rutgers faces Arkansas who may be looking for revenge following an embarrassing 52-0 loss today to 'Bama. My hope is that they don't get it and Rutgers moves to 4-0.

You guys have a shot.

Sanu graduated, right? Or is he a senior this year?

Sanu will be playing tomorrow for the Cincinnati Bengals. He decided to leave one year early.

That sucks. That guy was a boss.

That sucks. That guy was a boss.

Our offense is fairly weak. Our defense however should be more of a threat.

Same with us. Other than South Carolina (can't really expect to hang with them), were giving up two touchdowns per game. We would laugh if somebody told us that would happen at the end of last year.

If BYU makes this, I wouldn't blame the Utah coach for punching a fan.

Never ever seen anything like that in my life. Worth staying up until 2 AM.

I was not pleased with the Buckeyes this weekend. Yeah, we won (35 - 28), but only because Cal missed 3 field goals and had a TD called back from a penalty. Otherwise, this game has a totally different outcome. Hats off to Cal., they played a hell of a game and should have won.

The Bucks will host UAB this weekend, then go on the road to East Lansing to face off with the Spartans of Michigan State. This will be the last of the non conference games for OSU before heading off into the meat of the schedule. Something tells me that after the UAB game, things might get a little rough for the Buckeyes. So get in, sit down, shut up, hang on ..... it's going to be a rough ride unless some changes get made. *cough cough* d e f e n s e ..... we are giving up to much. We gave up a total of 512 yds. to Cal., waaaay to much. Once we hit the divisional opponents, it may get ugly. One good thing did come about from our defense this past weekend. We finally put some pressure on the opposing QB. We had 6 sacks, impressive. Now if only our linebacking crew can step it up a notch or two, we might be better off :nervous:. Time will tell.

Penn State, I was really happy to see them get that first win under their belt. A very well earned victory from the boys from State College, congrats Nittany Lions 👍. Let the healing process begin.

USC went down !!!!! WOW !!! I had anticipated a good close game with USC winning by no more than 2 TD's. I never seen this one coming. I don't think USC did either. It's going to be interesting to see how far they will drop in the rankings. This will move 'Bama into the #1 spot, LSU moves up to #2, Oregon moves up to #3. From there on, who knows. Sort of looking forward to seeing the rankings this week ... could be interesting. Matt Barkley was not so impressive, and with the play as of late from W. VA's Geno Smith, he (IMO) moves ahead of Barkley in the run for the Heisman. Smith, definitely somebody to keep your eyes on for sure.

EDIT : btw, way to go Notre Dame
