What setting for TC do you set when you drive an RWD car? Just got a C63 AMG, tuned it a little and its a bitch to drive on TC 8.

That's just a twitchy car to drive. I use the default TC setting (5 I think) and am good to go with most cars.

For cars that are tricky to drive like the C63 I use 1, that is, if I'm not drifting it (but I'm always drifting it :sly:).

Tc 1 for powerful cars.(TVR Speed 12)

Tc 0 for all others.

What button/stick do you use for throttle?

Zero. The only RWD car I use TCS on is the Sauber C9. I set it to 3 on it.

I drive with a controller, but with 'triggers' on L2 and R2. Works great and gives me just that little bit more controll over the rpm's. 👍
And as a bonus your fingers don't slip off the gas and brake.

Varies between 0 and 2 depending on how confident I feel. Sometimes I just drive cars with the stock aids settings though with TCS 5.

On a scale of 1-10, 0 has the strongest TC?

NK
Nope,

10 is the strongest setting for TC...

Cheers...👍

What he actually means I think is the 'fastest'...although in that term you are correct

But yes, 0 TCS is fastest with the right driving style, because you have no limit to the amount of acceleration you can put down at all.

I use TC 0 unless I am in a bad, impatient mood. Then I turn it up to about 3.
All it takes is a bit of practice to slowly apply the throttle.

TCS off 95% of the time, but if im driving a RWD car with 900+ hp i usually go with 1, to save myself the hassle

All aids off exept abs all the time

I have everything off except for the ABS. For me its more of a realistic drive, but have to admit with a DS3 it makes it a lot harder if your sitting on a lot of HP.

Also use L2 & R2 for brake and throttle. I purchased the clip-ons for L2 & R2.
These clips are cheap and well worth the price as they give you a little bit more throttle control. :) 👍

Where do you get those clip ons? lol.

I use 0 TCS, regardless of the car. Just use the R2 and R1 buttons, their better for controls.

I'll need to remind myself to try out that car :p But anyways, I usually have my TCS set to zero on all productions. Touring cars I still set to zero, but race cars/Le Mans/Group Cs/LMPs/etc. I set to one. But If I tune it right (most likely LSD), I'll maybe even set it to zero as well.

I have my accel. and brake mapped to L2 and R2 so it's pretty easy to modulate.

*sigh* You can get the same control with your X and square buttons, just have to develop a style to be able to do this. ;)

I got mine from Walmart I do believe. They were pretty cheap $5.00 maybe.

What I really like is that they do extend the throttle slightly giving you more of a range of control. Using the x button just do not give you the same feel and R2 with a slight extension allows to run with TCS off. It works for me. :)👍

That last bit saved your bacon, it works for you. 👍 The X button DOES give the same feel for me though, and I've been using that button for throttle control for well over 10 years throughout the GT series.

I'm not sure why people criticise me for not using TCS for grippy racing. Skid Recovery Force, Active Steering and Racing Soft for the win!

I ran the Nurburgring 4 hour in the AMG C63 and never used traction control, it's a great car but a little heavy. There really is no need for TCS on anything other than a few of the group C cars.

Yup. I use the buttons rather than the triggers because that's how I spent years playing GT4, it's hard to adapt. I've tried with the triggers and there isn't any difference in sensitivity I can assure you.

I make it a rule to use TCS 1, SKR and some other aids for steady driving when I create a run in an ongoing event or at practice. Sort of I'm totally relying on the devices as I can only go nicely with a few powerless cars without assistance of them.

I use a SixAxis controller (although both are due to be replaced as they're pretty manky now). Never used TC, I don't like it, it just robs power.

May not be any difference in sensitivity, but I prefer to use fingers rather than thumbs. But then my thumbs make Megan Fox's look svelte... :sly:

Go away Mafs, leave my style alone :D I can still drive with X and Square, that's what a PSP is for. I just prefer the R2 and L2 buttons.

The X button & the other 5 buttons might be pressure sensitive according to wikipedia, but you can be for sure more precise with the 2 analog sticks & the 2 analog buttons (L2 & R2). :sly:

I respectfully disagree. I, too, used the buttons for GT4, et al, and when I purchased the trigger extensions, I was able to modulate speed much more effectively. The reason, I believe, is button travel. The entire range of the X and square buttons is 1/8" (3mm) while the range for L/R2 is easily double that. That fact alone suggest that you should have a lot more throttle control with the triggers. That said, before I had the extensions, I hated the triggers as I'd continuously slip off the button, typically at the most inopportune time.

Ultimately, though, it comes down to what you're most comfortable with. 👍
