I use TC at 0 on all but the squirreliest of cars, for which I inch it up to where I can somewhat hang on. Usually no more than 2.

*sigh* You can get the same control with your X and square buttons, just have to develop a style to be able to do this. ;)

👍

After months of playing GT5 I have learned how to control the throttle quite effectively. Driving lmp cars/group c cars with only abs set to 1 forces you to develop a greater ability to finesse the throttle with the X button.

like some have said, sometimes TC is actually beneficial for those extremely powerful cars. Personally, I would never use SRF, ASM, and active steering. Although it's easier to drive the car, it completely insulates you from the "feel" of the car; it dulls the driving down and you're less in tune with the car you're driving.

I too think the shoulder buttons give you more control than the x and square... my large reason for switching from x to R2 for accelerator was my finger would go numb after playing for an hour. I can flip out 3 fingers on my right hand to use the R2 and still use my thumb occasionally for other things on x, square, and others. Before the second shoulder buttons were introduced, I tried to switch from the thumb to other fingers... I lost control. Those shoulder extensions look cool, though.

Plus side - they're cheap (or brick and mortar store to avoid shipping).

Down side - they shouldn't need to be purchased as the triggers should have been designed like that from the start.

And with that, I think I've steered this thread off its intended topic enough for one day... :O

8??? :dunce:

Well... if you feel comfortable with it, go ahead... ;)

I use 1 with the fastest race cars and some supercars... 0 for the rest and 3 for the X1 ;)

I usually turn it off for any car, and try to tame the beasts in my garage, with my mad precision button mashing controller skills, lol :p

1 or 2 depending on if its 750 bhp+
3 on nasty things or if srf is forced off

Actually, they are quite ugly and a bit awkward to try to play with. Their only purpose is to solve a problem that shouldn't exist for anyone with a nominal amount of motor control in their hands. Just don't squeeze so hard/grip so low and your fingers will never fall off the buttons.

In addition, It may have just been a defective/damaged controller, but the only one I had extensive experience with had one of the triggers start sticking down after a while.

Still, they are fairly cheap.

Tc 1 for powerful cars.(TVR Speed 12)

Tc 0 for all others.

This, i use X & square.
I want to start to use r2-l2 but i'm not really comfortable lol

I use the DS3 as well, but I drive in the standard setup from GT4, with the sticks. By now I turn all aids off, but that took a while. As you say, turning off TCS is probably the biggest difference. If I have learned anything from RKM's tunes in the tuning forum, it's that for whatever reason, turning down the LSD all the way to 5 in the settings helps with wheel spin, if your suspension is setup right. At least in my head.

In short: you can kind of compensate the loss of traction when you use TCS 0 by tuning and adjusting the settings of our car. Takes more time though.

i generally have the setting on 2 or 3 for most of the cars when I want to drive fast, but when I like to have some slip in the car id normally turn it down to 0 or 1 depending on what car and drivetrain it is!
Also used to use the button to control but I've got used to using the sticks!

TC is 0 for me.
Only exception: The FGTC championship I´m taking part in. SRF on TCS4 and aktive Steering to mild (because almost all Aids are allowed => why not use them)

But I even drive the FGT without aids (1:09.815 at Indy Road-Curse)

Button-Layout: Accel X Brake []

All aids off just to make the cars feel real.

What button/stick do you use for throttle?

Same here. Be careful not to slam the throttle to full off a slow turn, ease into it. It takes some getting used to.

I cannot drive the lexus ISF RM without tcs...

TCS 0-1 depending on how powerful the car is.
