Well it was fairly hectic due to various networking issues, but overall the quality of racing was very high with some spectacular battles appearing. Let's keep this up through the rest of the series.
Results for Round 2:
Stewarding:
Race 1
Pre-Start - nightfirept - Out of position on the start
Verdict: nightfirept Driving Standards Warning 1/3 - This is not an acceptable way to behave on a formation lap, in the future please move into your grid position as soon as possible, then follow the pack in formation. If you do this again, serious penalties will be enforced.
Lap 2 - xNikodemusx - pp-123 - Accident
Verdict: NFA - pp loses control, causing Niko to overreact at which point both cars half-spin and meet in the middle. While there is no penalty on this occassion please remember to be careful at race starts or when near other cars.
Lap 43 - Play117 - nightfirept - Avoidable contact
Verdict: Play 117 +90s - While it is true that nightfire could have been further over the RHS of the track down the straight, there is still plenty of room on the inside into T1, the cause of the accident being that play was simply too late on the brakes and was unable to stop in time for either the corner or to avoid nightfire.
Lap 66 - FutureF1 - xNikodemusx - Blocking
Verdict: FutureF1 Driving Standards Warning 1/3 - You are allowed to defend your position with one defensive move, here you not only keep just to the left of the racing line, but after Niko has got his nose alongside, you make a second manouver to close the door. This is not allowed within CORE racing.
Lap 69 - xNikodemusx - FutureF1 - Racing incident
Verdict: Warning both drivers - While Future does move across the track, he does so in a resonably predictable manner and it is clear there is no space on the inside by the time Niko gets his nose alongside. Niko, it's a leading driver's right to place his car in a way that allows him to retain the lead, this is a very clumsy move. Future, while in this case you have got away with it, due to network latency it is often better to make a decisive move so that the following driver knows exactly what to expect, please consider this in the remaining races.
Race 2
Lap 42 - P1K3Y_M1K3Y - attrapp - Racing incident
Verdict: NFA - attrapp, please consider that moving to the side of the track while being followed by a lapping car makes them assume you are letting them through, however Mikey, it is the responsibility of the passing car to ensure the manouver is completed cleanly, you could have left space on the apex and avoided the damage.
Lap 46 - bichu_mau - Pit in lines
Verdict: Warning - Since we were not policing pit lines at this track, and no damage was ensued in the incident, you have got away with a warning. There was a note on the Driver's Brief specifically referring to being careful when entering or exiting the pits. In the future manouvers such as this will result in penalties.
Race Length: 3 x 90 minutes
Weather: Sunny/Dry
Lobby Open: 1900BST
Event Start: 2000BST
As with the previous event, Race 1 will be preceded by 15 minutes of qualifying to determine grid order, with the finishing result determining the starting order of Race 2, then repeated for Race 3.
Can all drivers please ensure they have read the
Rules section of the OP, there will be stringent stewarding taking place after this round and ignorance will not be accepted as a defense.
Pit Lines: Unlike in previous rounds, pit lines (both in and out) will be strictly policed. Due to AI control, drivers will not be penalised for crossing the line of driver's left of pit out,
HOWEVER putting wheels on/crossing any of the solid yellow lines on driver's right will result in a penalty.
Track Limits: Are defined entirely by section 3.3 of the rules with no exceptions.
