Very likely, but the proto didn't have all the tweaks and clean aerodynamic shape as this one, hence why I do this.

After reading the last few pages of this thread, this is exactly why I don't get excited or over-hype things coming to the game.

Indeed.

I remember seeing in this thread people already thinking about what colour combinations would they give to their C7s, that they we're gonna have a street version and a tuned one, etc.

The only upgrade possible is changing the tyres.

Well, considering his self-assurance (let's call it that, arrogant sounds so negative ;)), he might even claim he could make it much faster whilst even heavier and as big as a house but they wouldn't let him. :D

Of-course..

Yep, they were counting their chickens before they were hatched. Same way with all the speculation about that track that everyone thought was going to be in the update just because it was in a video. People on these forums just get their hopes up way to high and speculate on things and end up being disappointed, as can be witnessed in the last 2 or 3 pages of this thread.

To be fair, thinking that you will be able to treat it like any other car (or if nothing else, be able to get it in more than two colors after GM showed it off in nearly a dozen) isn't really out there as far as expectations go.

Yeah. God forbid we even paint the thing. That baffles me the most.

Didn't this happen before where PD released an update and you couldn't change something on a car?

TC car pack right?

With PD's tradition of giving their fans plenty of information, I can't blame them. Plus, this inability to modify the C7 seems quite ridiculous to me, thinking the car could be at least painted was a safe bet I'd say.

Yes, I believe it was the Dodge Challenger TC as you couldn't adjust the LSD but they fixed the issues. I don't think we are going to be as lucky here though

There are plenty of cars in the game that are also development prototypes that we can modify extensively. The Black Mask, Miura and McLaren MP4-12, among others (to say nothing of the Standard cars or the straight up concept cars). That by itself isn't a reason to assume that we won't get any modification whatsoever.

You couldn't change the number on the R35 TC, as well.

208mph (LOW in 6th since its basically impossible to ever get into high in 6th or 7th) Under its own power, 285mph drafting (@ 5k rpm in 7th). Numbers seem a bit un-realistic but im not complaining, im still driving a c7 before anyone else so i dont care haha

I hit 210mph in low 6th, 288mph drafting, and 317mph getting pushed.

Thought the MP4-12C was a full Production car.

Come to think of it, have we ever gotten every single iteration of a car from 1st concept to 2nd concept to Test Prototype to Pre-production type and then the final car all while it was being developed? Sure we got three concept versions of the FT-86, but one was done by Toyota, one by G-Sports (which I believe is Gazoo racing) and one by Toyota Europe. We never really got a test car for it as far as I know. I know in GT5P, there was the GT-R Proto (which as said didn't even have an engine so I'm not sure it counts), the GT-R Blackmask, which was then replaced by the Final production GT-R.

The colors!!!! Are just, ugh, FRIGGIN UGLY!!! (In My Opinion). I don't like Roar-ange nor bland grey. I'm glad I didn't get super hyped over this. It's just another car. If they were to add day-night to all tracks and weather to most tracks, THAT would be truly improving GT5.

The red looks pretty good IMO. The side reflectors by the wheels are hideous though. Bought the red just because they are harder to see.

I don't understand the limitations they gave us. If we may not paint it, give us more available production colours. About the tuning, there aren't ways around it, so we'll probably just have to wait what comes next. I just hope they don't make us pay for a final C7 which you could paint and tune up.

But as far as I remember it wasn't in production back in November 2010 when the game was released?

Edit: Quick look on Google told me it was unveiled in 2009, but started production in 2011. So it probably wasn't 100% ready at GT5 release.

The fact that you can do absolutely nothing to this car is a real bummer, as has been stated before, not even paint it! And I was ready to buy about ten of em! :dopey: Oh well.

It's pre-production, essentially the prototype without its maskings. And also a 2014 model, guys, a year away. I would have been very surprised to see a lot of detail from GM & Chevy (including tuning performance options allowed) allowed to be seen when the production car isn't even in existence yet.

The lack of tuning doesn't really bother me, I just wish we could paint it, or at least have the options Chevy has shown.

It was modeled according to how the car was in preproduction circa mid-2010, before the extensive traction control system was finished. The car itself didn't come out for 9 months after the latest period of time they could have put it in the game (mid-October is when the game had to be done, and the car was finally finished in June of the following year).

That's also why it handles so out of sorts compared to the real one.

Completely agree, think it's only reasonable to be expecting the production version after we got the prototype, and let's be honest here, who didn't?
I only became aware of that 'final prototype' badge today and didn't think much of it as like I mentioned before, it could've been just a mistake/placeholder/whatever (don't think I've ever encountered a new car just launched to be called a final prototype before, I know the cars shown at launches often are handbuild pre-production prototypes simply because production hasn't started yet but they're always presented as the final result, aka production car).

To be honest, I don't see what Chevrolet gains by this either, or maybe this is a new method of including new cars now?
First get a camouflaged proto to see how it drives, then get the pre-production prototype (excuse me, final prototype) to see how it looks inside and out, and finally the full production car to be used as you see fit.

And remember, I'm not being negative for the sake of being negative, I was just really looking forward to having a few personalized (as in tuning/set up/appearance) C7's in my garage to enjoy, as that's how I enjoy most of the cars in GT5.
