I did - that's why I think I have an idea of where a lot of the visitors are coming from, although the majority of referrals are from an unkown origin...

its a conspirasy. maybe some (keyword:some)people dont like the site and are trying to flood the server causing the max bandwidth to be achived and shut the server down

Don't forget that even if vB jst reports an IP address, you can use whois to see (or get a referral to an agency who will let you see) who owns that address.

But that becomes a pain in the ass. I have never heard of someone trying to flood a server by page views. It would be easier to all upload an image at the same point in time, but all that would do is slow it down...
