Custom Soundtracks in GT5 - What are you listening to?

How do you make a custom soundtrack for GT5.

Under the options menu, you go to "hardware" and then "audio settings" (scroll to the right). Then scroll down and "select user BGM" and "enable user BGM". That way you can select music you have stored on your PS3.

I am not sure if you can actually enable a complete playlist there. If that doesn't work, the solution would be to put all the music you want in one single MP3 file, upload that to your PS3, and then selecting that particular file. A pity is that it will always start with the same song then.

personally its the sound of silence. a 30 second blank mp3 just so I can hear the trophy sound effects but without the music getting in the way.

although I have to admit if we ever get free roam - that I'll be hitting up the music selection otherwise I'm just missing out - but in my opinion I'm racing not listening to music

My music is the engine under my control! Nothing better. Although I do want to change the music in the menu.

dont make 1 large MP3 as this will lead to nothing but issues
to get custom BGM in GT5 and so it plays all tracks make a play list
i have ones from GT1, GT4, NFS3, NFS4HS, NFSHP2(NFS6), UT3 & initial D

to make a play list in the XMB

go to music>create playlist>name>then select song files

when in GT5 select the playlist and it will play all songs in said playlist
also select it to shuffle for some randomness

back to the topic at hand

i dont know why but i seem to drive better when their is a songs from initial D playing
these are the ones i like the best

Ah thanks, I am learning here every day ;) Problem was that somehow my pre-existing playlist on my PS3 was corrupted and therefore did not play in GT5. I thought that because it did not play, GT5 did not accept any playlists (which would have been quite stupid). Now it works great for me.

Never heard of those guys before btw, I'll be sure to check them out!

I was about to make a thread for this too. :dunce:

I don't have the time to put all my forty-something songs here, but I'm amused to see I'm not the only one who listens to Autopilot Off :sly:

IMO, one of the must have for GT is "Moon Over the Castle". I prefer GT2 version, as it's the most upbeat of the four:

I didnt know you could do this. But thnx for the help.

Im gonna add:
Foo Fighters: one by one
Kasabian: reason is treason remix (from GT4 and was title tune)
The Rolling stones: Paint it Black
The Stone Roses: I am the Resurection
The Stone Roses: Begging You
Arctic Monkeys: Scummy Man
Loads of stuff by Greenday
Florence and the machine: Kiss with a Fist
The Sex Pistols: Pretty Vacant
Fat boy Slim: Acid 8000
Fat boy Slim: Song for Lindy
Underworld: REZ
Underworld: Cowgirl

Actually there is probably loads more but ill be here all day. Off to add some of these. It might just make the Game and all its faults enjoyable again?

I have a huge list of songs in my custom soundtrack but anytime Eastbound and Down (from smokey and the bandit) starts I drive like a maniac. It seems like that song takes my brake pedal away. Not really a good thing though. I wreck a lot when it plays.

A bunch of songs by Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Fuel and Frantic from MetallicA, a few songs from Recoil, I have all the intros from GT1, 2, 3, 4, Prologue, and the ending themes. The first two intros from Gundam 00, the best songs from all previous GT´s, any type of fast paced rock, 80´s rock like Wasp, a little bit of Tiesto, some songs from Time Splitters 2 and 3(its was the best FPS for PS2, and still better than Halo or COD), Low Rider from gone in 60 seconds, Billy Cobham´s Stratus, Level Five from King Crimson, Ted Nugent´s Strangle Hold, and maybe some clasical misic.

Now, I have a question... Is there a way to use your personal music for replays only? I find it very strange that it can only be used while driving. I don´t want that since I don´t use music when driving.

Here's a good one to listen to while doing the beginner top gear event:

This one goes for the rest of the Top Gear events, hell you could you it for ALL of the Top Gear events and it would be quite fitting.

Guys how do i select my playlist.

Its lets me go into the playlist and pick a song, but doesnt that just make it play the one song i click on? I want it to play the playlist, not just select one song.

Welcome to the 'Planet, ochriso.

I found going into the main Audio area in the Options menu, and turning on User BGM, then going into "Select BGM", and selecting my playlist, but not hitting X on a particular song, worked. Make sure the shuffle option is set to "Folder". Every time you load the game up, you will hear the same first song each time (mine's an Albert Hammond Jr, one, so I suppose it's alphabetical), but then the shuffle should work properly.

Also, try to type with proper grammar and punctuation in the future. Hope that helps, and enjoy your stay!

...

As for the rest of this thread, it has now been merged with the previous Custom Soundtrack thread, as they serve the same purpose.

These songs were taken directly from my "real" driving playlist on my iPod. It's impossible to not enjoy driving with these songs on:

Fly by Loudmouth. This was from the Varsity Blues Soundtrack:

Through My Days Into My Nights by Floodgate:

Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria

Through The Fire and the Flames by Dragonforce

Clean My Wounds by Corrosion of Conformity
