Custom Soundtracks in GT5 - What are you listening to?

Seriously. If you are listening to music with lyrics your concentration is going to take a hit. I think this may also be a reason some people don't listen to music in-game, because they don't know about or like the instrumental music that's out there. A simple drum beat and bass line, however, is really non-intrusive and will guide your focus to each and every apex.

Also, if you are listening to bands that switch styles a lot your going to risk losing the flow of things.

For these reasons, despite my vast music tastes, I stick to long DJ sets of dub techno/DnB/etc. It helps you arrive to the "zone" and makes sure you stay there for the remainder of the set. Unfortunately GT5 doesn't have a "resume track" like wipeout so my laptop is outputted to the same speakers as my ps3.
 
Hi there!

I dont know about you, but im getting a bit tired of the tracks in GT , What I want to do here is to create a alternative music track for GT, and also at the same time discover new music. So, please post your ultimate racing tunes here! ;) Name of artis and track name! 👍

Edit : please pick out 5 favorite tracks you would recommend others to listen to while crusing in their GT 5 car.

btw, does anyone know who this is?

I listen to blues, blues rock and jazz. Here's a few bands I have on my PS3 HDD. Before I start, I will say I love the menu music in GT5. It's funk mixed with Jazz and for some reason I find it really enjoyable to listen to.

Right now I have a bunch of Muse stuff mixed with Oasis and even some Japanese stuff....while watching a replay of the Tuscan night special event the other day and drifting that Lambo I thought I should dig up my Initial D music.....:D
 
probably a dumb question... but how do you set it up with your personal stuff?

coldplay....trust me download some cold play, especially "high speed" nothing like it
 
Haven't gotten around to copying over some music yet... but will probably be some classic rock, like Steppenwolf, CCR, and the like.

For Excite Truck on Wii, I was using Chemical Brothers' "Galvanize", which also works :)
 
I found myself putting Burnout 3 and GT4 soundtracks. I'm starting to like punk/hard rock, and also I recently discovered Dakota Star from GT4. Didn't know there were 3 good songs from them hidden in the huge library:



 
I have copied all of my rock/rock-ish music to my BGM folder. I've never liked the Gran Turismo series' music. And I use today's Top 40 musis for menu BGM music.
 
I did have some classic hard rock and a little metal in there but I turned it off because in online races it reverted back to the in game rubbish. I now use the PC if I want BGM
 
Tool, Nine inch nails, Puscifer, pretty much all i ported over from my pc atm might add some other playlists sooner or later now that i am getting on the 4 hr endurance challenges etc.

Might get flamed for this but I ordered the Gran Turismo 2 soundtrack cd off Amazon ($5) for the release of GT5.

WHy on earth woudl someone sign up for a driving game and then crank up music?

You guys do know that the Stig doesnt actually listen to that cr@p while he does the Top Gear hotlaps right?? :lol:

Its easy when you take all your driving seriously - even the driving that comes with its own background "tune" ;)

 
am i not doing it right? i made a playlist, but when i got o "select personal BGM folder" it makes me select a specific MP3 - i can't just select a folder/playlist - and then it will only play that song the entire race.
