Custom Soundtracks in GT5 - What are you listening to?

LOL, Megadeath and Judas Priest? If you guys are that old you shouldnt be playing video games, jk.

and Ludacris?!?! that made me laugh, I almost didnt believe it.

It's so crazy that you can patent something like that... anyway Wipeout HD lets you choose your own tracks but only supports certain file types, which is really annoying because I ripped all my CD's in the highest quality Sony proprietary ATRAC format.

There is also a weird game/tech demo on the Japanese Store that has the ability to play ATRAC in the background whilst you play. It's got the two cat things in it:

I'll be listening to Richie Kotzen... Go Faster! but only during replays:

No matter what game I play, I always turn the music off.
For GT5 that will be no different, I want to hear those horse powers to the max and enjoy my ride.
That also goes for the smaller cars that have less then 100HP.
I don't want to be a tourist while racing at +250KPH you know..

All 560 songs that were in the whole PGR series, PGR has awesome driving songs. Plus playing select songs from different regions. For instance if your in tokyo, Play jpop, if your in Newyork play hip hop or r&b or rock, and if your in soeul play Kpop. CANT FREAKING WAIT!!!

4th time in 2 pages someone said this. GO START A THREAD ABOUT NO MUSIC!!!!

Amon Tobin, Kid606, Wipeout soundtracks and 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' (the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey) whenever I'm either doing time attacks at Tsukuba or driving at the Nürburgring.

Also Dolby Anol, Exile, Mr. Scruff... Although so far on most racing sims/games I just turn the music off, though that might be because I don't like any of it. Except for Wipeout HD, of course.
Wow... I wasn't sure anyone else here knew those groups existed. Well, save for Wagner.

I'd probably do just about every (good) track there is that ever appeared in a GT game.
Ditto. Plus I'm sure I could find a ton of race replay appropriate music by people like Joe Satriani and Derek Sherinian. And I'm intending to compose a few of my own. I'd also hope to be able to include menu music. I am praying that SONY includes all the music tracks from ALL Gran Turismo games from all regions.

By the way, faq Microsoft and their attempts to ownz the universe. Reminds me of a certain American administration we're stuck with for four years... 👎

Metallica FTW!
Apart my favorite band, I will play it with other music also, Rock, Rock-Alternative Genre :)

And I want some Daiki Kasho song too!!

I will be doing really weird stuff. I will be listening to music that probably will never be featured in a videogame like Tangos, Mariachi, Norteño, and Cumbias.

Of course I will have things that have some slight possibility of appering in a videogame like Classical, Europop, Electronic; but mostly I will be listening Metal.

Imagine all that mixed. A Megadeth song and after it a Mariachi song.

BTW we have a thread like this one here:

EDIT:
I know what I will be listening in endurance races.

POLO POLO

He is a man that tells really funny jokes, some of them really long. He is perfect for the highway and will be for endurance races. Highly recommended.

GT1's soundtrack is still the best one in the series in my opinion, so I may toss some of those songs in there, although I always have music turned off while I drive.

Try to not get nostalgic

Justice, Goose, Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, Tweaker, Black Light Burns, Garbage, etc

👍 Just thinking of the Chemical Brothers' remix of Everything Must Go puts tears of joy in my eyes :)

LittleBigPlanet (while only in pod), Burnout Paradise (even while racing online), MLB The Show 09, PAIN, High Velocity, and others I can't think of right now can play music in-game. Rock Band 2 allows you to play drums to your own music!

Vintage Tangerine Dream (Poland perhaps). Oldfield. Eurodance. Amethystium, Gandalf.

Kalwi & Remi's remix of Victory would be excellent for that last lap of the endurance race :-)

I'll be listening to the song "yellowbird" by the german band RUF which consists of 6 flat members and one BIG A** TURBO

Also many pieces from that high pitched Italian composer wee all know

And once in a while i'll listen to the song "V8 in cubic inches" by Chevrolet or any other american cover. ;)

Polo Polo hhahahahahaha that guy is seriously funny, but, seriously, during a race??? i don't think that even the stig listent to jokes while driving

I prefer hip-hop or rap... but they don't go well with racing games. They just don't suit.

I'm basically compiling a playlist just for GT5, adding whatever songs I like (or are suitable for GT5) on. So far I have 64 songs :\ mixture of past GT songs, electronic/trance, and hip-hop/rap.

What are good hip-hop or electronic songs ideal for racing?

You can play your own music in MotorStorm Pacific Rift only offline. For some stupid reason, you can't listen to your stuff while online. You have to listen to the onboard music.

Menu: Final Fantasy VII OST
Race: Rise Against, Papa Roach, Bullet for my Valentine and everything else that suits for me.

I hope I can do this that way :nervous:

I'll mostly just be listening to the sound of virtual polar bears being killed by the virtual global warming coming out of my virtual exhaust pipe. For cars like the Prius though, I may find utility for a radio that can be switched on/off in game. Maybe just have it as an option in that menu-thing where you can adjust TC and the like.

And here's an idea: if you can't load music off a hard drive because some patent clerk was drunk while MS came in, then load it off a flash-drive in game. Like how you can save pictures from photo mode onto a flash drive.
