Im assuming your using expert mode? Mess with your settings...most importantly your final gears, it helps you get torque up there when you need it. Come into the turn slowly and really start to grab angle towards the end, it allows you to link into the bottom near the wall and then link back out to the final long sweeper around the back of the course.

omfg i finnaly found it i called eb games, walmart, game crazy, best buy ect ect. But i found a toys r us and they only have 2 so i might get it later on tonight.

Still 40, I payed 42 after tax from toys r us.
If you love drifting, youll think its worth it. I sold my dfp so I have the controller, and if you do fine with that on gt4 youll have no problem with this.

Seriously though, tandem drifting never gets boring.

Best drift AI ever.

Ohhh, I use the professional cars always, never really tried the Expert, the only Expert car i've used is the C35 Laurel. If you want to try an awesome drift car, beat the 03 championship, that way you get Youichi Imamura's Apex'i RX7 from the 03 season(he was champion), when you start the next season, go to Expert cars, and go to the left, its one of those '?.' Leave stock settings on it, one of the best cars I have drivin in the game.

Wow, this game looks incredibly fun. I wonder if they have it in Canada yet. Seemsa little too pricey, so I'm gonna wait till the price drops or a used copy shows up. Either way, the game looks sweet. The AI seems to ber very smart in this game too.

^^The Ridox Supra and Option Stream Z are good cars if you can control them. They're so stupid fast that you can stick to your opponent like glue on tandem runs. Which I find is the most fun in the entire game.

A good way to take that wall on Irwindale is to try to follow the tiremarks on the track. I usually don't, I just try to get close to the wall as possible. To initiate the drift just use power over. The hardest part is connecting the turn after the first clipping point. The AI doesn't follow the racing line that is used on the actual track which is a pain in the ass, cause I actually do.

The game is $39.99 at Toys'R'Us

I got the game over the weekend, and I was really disappointed. D1GP 2005 the Japanese version was a lot better. The graphics have been downgraded. The edges on the car are more jagged. The original music is gone and replaced with stupid beats. The biggest thing of all... the gameplay now lags! Which is a real no no when you're in full lock and trying not to spin out.

So what are the new updates? The cars have backfire now. Replays have new camera angles. American drivers and the GTO were added. Psychics were slightly updated. New commentary & interface.

The new updates don't make up for the con's I found in the game. I guess I'll be sticking to the original D1GP 2005.

Are you serious? Can anyone find some comparo shots just to be sure, I mean I already have the NTSC-J version and I don't want an inferior dud that lags with worse off graphics.

well america always do that when we get something from japan downgrade everything, like when we got the 240sx they took out the sr20 and put the ka, but now i know the ka is better than the sr20 but it still could have been cool have sr20s in the cars, so i am gonna stop my rant right now and get back on topic

once i get back to alabama i will get the game, toys r us was so far from my grandmas house that she would'nt take me

Yes the graphics are quite noticeable. I don't have comparison screenshots, but I played the US version and saw all the jagged edges. SO I came to my computer and looked at the videos of my replays that I recorded.. and my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. The graphics were indeed dumbed down. The game only lags on certain turns in courses. Tsukuba for example. It lagged in the original D1GP, in D1GP 2005 it was fixed a little, and now for the US version it lags on more turns. Some courses have no lag at all.

Oh yea, just a tip for you DFP users. Make sure you set your controller to DFP on the options menu. Also pressing Select + R3 + L1 makes the wheel feel lighter so it's easier to spin the wheel and countersteer. In the original game you didn't have to do any of this. Changing all this makes the car more stable. Before I had this changed, the car always wanted to understeer or go straight... which required more correcting and a much bigger workout for u. Yukes must have changed the psychics to better suit the dualshock controller, because I noticed using the controller was 10x easier than before.

No the neons stay on no matter what. That was the first thing I thought when I saw the cars at night..."What the **** is that glowing?!"

Also the camera angles are the ones the game chooses for you, you cannot change them, which sucks in some parts of the tracks..

Just popped the US version in..

Hmm... Don't really like the HUD change, and the music is weird.

Drifting seems to be the same, and I haven't experienced any lag yet.

I'll check it out closer tomorrow morning when I have the time.

i love the game, the music could be better or stayed original and the actors come on could'nt we have kept the real judges from the game. but other than that the drifting is fun.

Ok well after playing if for 2 days I finnaly found the car that suits me best, I started out with the 180sx but i was'nt feeling it, so I went to time trials and tried out diffrent cars and I tried the Toyota Sorara(JZZ30) and fell in love with it, I feels so good going around corners in that thing, and I like how I can play with the throttle alot to get the right angle in the car.

So after 2 days I did the 2001 season and got last place, that was with the 180, then I switched cars turned of aids and switched to manuel and practice a couple times on the tracks and got 3rd place out of the season which i think is pretty good for me, so tomorrow I will be starting the 2002 season.

I like how the game has no modes so it forces you to get better at this game or quit, so now all we need is online for more uberness, I wish it had lan so where we could do xlink with it.
