I have a question for you guys......do you feel the AI have a major problem of ACCELERATING into a turn in places they should be braking??? It seems like they enter turns that I can't take at 90kmh + easily at 160kmh +, It's insane, you can even see them NOTICABLY accelerate before the turn, I was following one into turn one at fuji 2005 not paying attention and thought, what the hell, dude just started manji drifting lol, I never once lifted and was going 180kmh and not gaining on him, he just darted into the turn going the same speed I was and I then realized the reason he initiated was the turn and went balling off track at 160 + with the brakes locked, he darted into that turn at atleast 160kmh and held it perfectly.....I was like WOW!! WTF WAS THAT??!! :odd: :dunce:

Also I have MAJOR framerate issues at every track. I go into time attack and run all by myself and get bog in atleast one turn in every track, some tracks never stop lagging/bogging....:odd: And it bogs almost as bad in drift battle mode (not D1 GP mode)

Is that normal?? The reason I ask is because I read reviews that say it has no bog or lag at all and I see vids that show the ai not behaving like this, and the ai driving the subaru in that last tutorial about twin drift doesn't behave anything like that, he seems to drive properly.....WTF??? I'm just lost now......:dunce:

I haven't seen any lag in single player yet.

The AI does that when you first play because you don't really notice what they're doing im the beginning, trust me, once you get better, you can stick to them like flies to poop.

Oh, I'm the f'ing bomb at drifting in this game. I'm far better than any video I've seen, I can link drift smoothly and fast at high angle every track in the game with most any cars. You know the video's for each track.....I can replicate them perfectly. I love replicating the SUGO Int. one. If your telling me you can enter turn 1 at Fuji 2005 at 160kmph and not go off track, then please tell me what I'm doing wrong lol.

They literally ACCELERATE in the braking zones and don't decel till mid turn, They do it at all tracks and it's just more noticable with faster tracks. It makes no sense.....

it pisses me off that they always leave me on long straights, and I am smashing the x button down, i still love the game but its alot of bugs they could have fixed

K just a follow up, I entered D1 mode and all the "issues" I had with FPS bog and AI issues are gone.....wierd, the ai is like it was in the training mode test agian. I likie. Also my fps never bog now, The issues only exist in single attack and battle modes apparently....

Argh, the farthest I have gotten in survival mode is 4 cars..?!

Yet I have won championships in 2001 and 2002 series and I am currently leading points in 2003..?!

It seems like survival mode is alot harder than the d1 grand prix series.
Is anyone else getting this, or is it just me?

Read my post directly above yours.....that's what I'm saying, in every mode but D1GP mode, the ai are horridously insane and aggrovating.

This is why the Japanese version was superior, they still left you for dust, but you had a chance to win by drifting properly.

It's still that way, I win 90% of the time, I just can't keep up with the lunatics lol.

I keep them in sight, but the game offers no reward or penalty for getting seperated in any mode besides D1GP. In D1GP you cannot touch the other car or get passed by it or you will get iced and it'll stop scoring you for the rest of the run, Also the closer you are the more points you get, and if you get too far behind it'll stop scoring you completely, and you can not stop drifting in D1GP mode either, and of course you can't go off track or cut the course, also a special rule in D1GP mode is that you score based on how impressed the judges are. Most of these things do not apply in drifting battle or survival mode, where the rules are don't go off course, don't hit anything and the more angle and speed the better, it will not penalize you for not drifting or falling behind or getting passed, it does not matter where that other car is in these modes. It will however now penalize you continously the whole time your under 10km/h. It's a much harder mode, but two perfect laps still = win.

How come when you spin in a tsuiso battle, the other car stops? I've spun out leading and chasing, and each time i see my opponent stop. Shouldn't they just keep going like in real life?

Why are you spinning out? It's like wanting damage in GT5, are you going to crash so much that you want damage. I am just messing with you. lol.

You win DriftTengoku JZX90, Zaku's personal B310, Manabu Suzuki's(Mana-P's) personal RB1(Odyssey), Manabu Orido's RS-R JZA80, Keiichi Tsuchiya's personal AE86, and the UFO.

Anyone got pics of these? I'd like to see them!

Sweet thanks! Also, how well do the honda Oddyssey and UFO drive? So anyways I got the game a couple of days ago, pretty sweet. Beat the 2001 series on the 2nd try and the 2002 and 2003 series on the first try! I seem to have had the most success in D. Zamurai's FC3S, the thing is a beast. The 2003 A'pexi FD3S is quite badass too, its a shame that the newer A'pexi FD is uglier and doesn't drive as well as its older version. I plan on doing the 2004, 2005 aswell as survival mode in the next few days. I just wished this game had online. That would have made it perfect.

Not sure on how any of them except the Drift Tengoku JZX90- drives, and that one drives good. I've heard that Suzuki's sled is a beast though.

Cool, so I'm looking through the empty spaces where I pick cars. I've noticed there's way to many spaces for the cars that they show on the site. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

The Survival cars go into the professional slots, and the Championship winning cars go into the Expert/Beginnner slots.

I've noticed that, but I was quickly looking at the slots available for both professional and expert/beginner and it looks like there are way more slots available than the amount of cars you win from survival and D1 modes. Wait, if you beat a championship twice does that mean you get 2 cars? I'm wondering if you still get a prize car if you beat a D1 series the 2nd time around? I've also noticed Sam Hubinette's viper in the background. It would be so kickass to have his car in the game but I doubt it.

In the Expert/Beginner you win The Championship cars.
2001-Taniguchi's all red S15
2002-Ueo's Garage SIFT AE86
2003-Imamura's Apex'i FD3S(Best car in game, imo)
2004-Miki's Top Secret S15
2005-Kumakubo and Tanaka's D1USA cars.

It fills all the spots, belive me on this.

Awesomeness, thanks for the clarification. I'm working on my 2005 season at the moment. Its a shame the police car isn't in the US version. Here's another, is the opening movie for the US version different to the Canadian version? Seems like the US opening video is real footage from what I've seen from videos.

Some forums have said that the Police car has been replaced by the UFO in the US version, kinda stupid if you ask me, I'd rather drift in a police car in the game. Anyone have pics of that police car? Also apparently Tarzan Yamada's viper was taken out from the US version and possibly been replaced by the GTO. Another shame. Tarzan Yamada's viper is way cooler than Rhys Millens GTO.

**Edit I just took a look at the japanese yukes site and I didn't see no viper in the driver's list so I'm guessing Tarzan Yamada was never in the game? The police car was an ER34 skyline. Looked damn cool.
Also, why is Keiichi Tsuchiya listed as "Drikin" in both games? Speaking of Tsuchiya, in the Japan version there's another mode called "Tsuchiya Trial" I wonder what that's like. They must have replaced it with the X-treme mode in the NA versions.

I think they put the UFO in just to have some fun, that it was an American release, and put one in because of Area 51's 'secretness.'
