I love the Viper.

I love the mid range power of that monstrous V10.
I love the lumpy off-beat sound.
I love the way it can catch up to just about any car in a straight line.
I love how the low gears are crossed and the top gears are spread out.

I love the Viper.

First race of the day and my first race in the Viper. Too many small mistakes and I underestimated the pole sitter. I was certain I had saved more fuel than him and that he'd struggle towards the end. That turned out to be wrong. A small mistake just before the straight on lap 2 most likely cost me a win but a good race anyway.

What time did you qualify with? I ask as from the body language of the p1 car he is using the D-pad. i also use it and find the Nordschilfe tough with all the mid speed turns but i am FINALLY knuckling down to get used to the track after ignoring it for years.

The relentless crappy daily races has helped me focus on the campaign mode for this track, i have all golds but for the full lap best i have done is a 7.05 but I am still learning my way around, there's a ton more time in me if I could just remember the turns.

Just a thought but it would be nice ( to me anyway) if there were 3 seperate threads, one for each race. I usually only do race A and find myself scrolling quite a bit to try and pick out the race A posts. I know its not all about me but I just figured I'd post my thoughts.

Completely agree mate!

Separate threads would make it tidier but I don't think it's very necessary since one solution is page filtering with "Race A", "Mini" or whatever. People just say which race they've done and I'd guess most posting here are doing all 3 (some at more/lesser degrees) so can relate to them all.

Going down this route could also dilute and isolate people from each other when you'd rather have a community stay together.

Is it possible to finish Race 3 without any pit stop? Im using the M6 GT3 and fuel consumption seems a bit high. Any suggestions where i can save fuel efficently without losing power?

Absolutely. I've raced with guys making it in the M6 on a no stop. A number of other cars will make it as well. You may need to use a combo of short shifting and FM

I qualified in a different car so I don't know what the Viper can do, though I'm certain it will go faster that my 8:10 in the Genesis.
I just did a race lap of 8:24.5 in the Viper but that was on lap two with worn tyres and a bit of fuel saving.

I just won with the Viper after starting 3rd behind an M6 and an F1.
Both of them went off so I didn't win it on pace alone but I'm getting more used to the car now and after tweaking the brake balance it feels even better.

I would actually not like it. I read almost all post even if it is for a race i am not doing that week. I find reading the posts of some of the more descriptive members has helped me to improve my skills and race craft accross the board, and i dont want to read three threads.

I also find this thread is very fluid, like a real life big group conversation and it can go from a heavy focus on one specific race for a a few horus or days then suddenly it will switch. In fact if you had contributed to the conversation we might all be talking about the a race right now. Which i am about to do a quick hot lap sess on before i gotta go to work.

Just meant as my 2cents

So this racer calls me a dirty driver. In this situation, he turned right into me. This happened in a previous race and the same spot. I managed to save it this time. What do y’all think? I also post the whole video to shiw my view, his view and his “revenge”

1 Race A this morning was laggy. Top 2 cars were from Brazil and only had one bar. Jumping around. So bad I decided after a lap not to attempt to get close.

Started 3rd. By the end of lap 1 decided i wasn't going to pass the front cars so my plan was to hold off the cars behind. Aggressive block out of the last turn on lap 1, orange warning but successful. Gained a decent lead. Same turn lap 2, no one around but stupidly I push it and lose grip in the dirt. Costly. Down to last. Fight to regain some spots. Some contact, another orange warning. Finish 8th. SR white. -300 DR.

On the plus side I pushed an orange cone from the last turn all the way to the finish line. Personal best. :D

Thanks for sharing.

I too love the Viper, but I only managed a no-stop using FM5 with short-shifting at about 70% range. To see you short-shifting at about 25% is eye-opening.

So this just happened....

I do not think i can top that. The big key here is momentum. I felt like i was right on the razors edge ;) of grip the whole time. Still not sure if manual is faster with this car but there is no turning back now....

Time for work. The hunter has become the hunted lol

You weren't dirty. He then demonstrates why revenge hits are so pointless as he costs himself a buttload of time ending up in the gravel. They could have just followed you and slip streamed past on the straight but ruined their own race instead.

That is some lap! You need to work on GR3&4 and get up to speed. It's in you, you just need laps! Hope to see you in race C soon!

I never go past 6500 rpm, not intentionally anyway. The power drops drastically after that. 6500 is about 80% of the shift light.
But that 8.4 V10 pulls hard all the way from idle, much like the Corvette's V8.

I'll post one more video of a race vs a McLaren F1 and BMW M6.

Thanks man. Not sure how i managed that lap tbh lol

some of the combos for the gr 3&4 cars i am ok with and your right i know with more laps, a lot more, i can probably get to the pace i feel i should be at. The problem is that like i said, i just love racing in road cars. I am gong to try and do more of the b and c stuff though. It seems to be where the party's at sometimes and i feel i am standing the sidewalk just listening to the loud music....

Having a tough time getting that last turn in race a just right. I cut the curb and try to stay on the inside portion of the track but end up drifting really wide usually (I've smashed the cones a few times in races).

So, for the Manufacturers Cup I decided to run a B-event as personal warm up Chose the Scirocco with a 1:49 Q-time which put me as 4th on the grid... until Bus Stop. Some Punk in a Huracan decided to pass on the first left kink, hit me and bounced back into the wall. I was suprised and hit the wall. So after 1/4 of Lap 1 I was already carrying 5s of penalties.:irked: I got passed by a few cars since the field was still together and settled at 11. Serving my 5s I finished 12th.:banghead:

The Cup afterwards then felt soooo comfortable! Once there are instant penalties and damages people suddenly back off, leave enough room for other cars and enter turns carefully. What a wonderful experience (although I somehow forgot to switch to RH for the race and had to stop with my RM - from 7th to 9th).

@Dairyworker That's a stunning lap. Great job!

I have a little bit more than two hours of play time left this week... Should I do race C four times? Should I try to improve my 8:13.594 first? Should I try to sub 1:05.794 (:p) in the Mini? Hmm... 💡

Edit: I just had an epiphany! Yesterday, I turned off CSA in the Mini. And of course I forgot to turn it back on. So I was driving Gr.3, on N24, with a controller, with TCS off and now also CSA off. No wonder I made a fool of myself. Phone reminder to enable CSA set for Friday afternoon...

It's a tricky one for sure, i can gain or lose a couple hundreths depeding on how i hit it. I find the best way is to treat it like one big long corner coming from as far left as possible try to clip the curb then let it drift out to the edge under mild throttle and then as it comes back in to hug the stripes at full bore. Not sure how to discribe it better.

You came from a long way back but hit your apex and he had room to take the corner wide. His fault. i think i have come across him before and he nerfed me off.

Seems like a really good description to me. Thank you my friend I will give it a try! I was definitely not letting it drift out enough and trying to hug the turn all the way through.

This is game-changing for me. I’m going to have to unlearn what I have learned about the Viper. Thanks, man.

Next week's races are up:
A) N300 (Provided) - Dragon Trail Gardens - 4 laps - Sports Medium
B) Gr.3 - Maggiore II - 4 laps - Racing Hard
C) Gr.X (One make) - Suzuka - 12 laps - Racing Medium - x4 fuel, x15 tyre wear - Grid Start w. False Start Check

A could be either the new Lamborghini or Ferrari seen at the Paris event given they raced at Gardens there
C is presumably the SF19

That was a nice move and a clean pass. You were even or better at the apex and he turned in on you. He may not have seen you there, but your pass was well done, in my opinion.

Very interesting combos! I'm definitely going to try out the Dallara SF19 in single player (if I can afford it that is) because I already know it's going to be an embarrassment for me online  Gr.3 Maggiore, finally I can do this one! I actually won it twice when I started playing, but that was in DR/D and C. Let's hope the aliens get distracted by Race C and FIA so I can win this combo properly this time :D
