I highly recommend running Catalunya. It’s a fun track.

@Gersicer
I was checking replay. In one race I got by you on the back straight before 130r, then you got by me in the chicane, then I chased, and after a lap or two got by I think t1. I did get away some but you were putting in quite strong laps during the ensuing chase late in the race. I kept seeing you back there.
In the second yeah I think you might have gotten taken out t1. Can I send ya a friend request?

Interesting, I always thought the number on your car only represented the position you need to finish to gain at least some DR. Thanks for the info!
Technically that's true. You do need to finish at least in the same position as your car number, and that's because your car number represents where your DR ranks compared to everyone else.

As for Catalunya it's one of my favorites tracks but why the RH :boggled: ... I tried qualy. Did a few "not so bad" laps with the RCZ but it's really not there yet.

And for the friend request ... Absolutely ! 👍

I'm surprised at the negativity I've seen towards this week's races. Race C is understandable but A and B aren't bad and dare I say it, very fun too.

The Maggiore West II layout is more flowing than last week's Maggiore II so I'm an instant fan of it. I'm not big on the TT Cup but it's an okay choice. At least it's not the Scirocco :yuck:. I've clocked a 1.58:3 and hoping to push to the 57s.

Catalunya is a welcome return although it's a track I need more practice on since we've seen so little of it. I've so far done a few QLs in the Ford GT and hit the high 1.47s with several mistakes so I think I can improve a bit more.

I'm glad someone else has said it! Considering the amount of repeats we've had in recent weeks this weeks races are pretty damn good and (mostly) not seen in a long time. I don't understand how there are so many complaints.

Part of the problem for me is that the daily races are not daily, it doesn't matter which combo it is, I've normally had enough by Thursday.

I do get this. Someone else here (so I take no credit) suggested that changing Race A on a Monday, B on a Wednesday and C on a Friday would at least mean you are never waiting long for a change. I'd love to see this implemented.

Hopefully that short cut bug has been fixed at Catalunya ?

Yes this was fixed a while ago. Attempt to cut the chicane and you get reset back on track. Thankfully.

@GTWolverine That is disheartening and yet emboldening to hear at the same time. There have been multiple races where I'm starting below 10th yet have a #1 or 2 on the car and yet people have out qualified me by seconds.

I never catch them and curse GT for setting such high expectations of me.

If there are DR D drivers in the field it screws up the door numbers, doors number are in order of DR scores, but handed out based on the alphabetical spelling of the DR Numbers, so in mixed DR races a DR D driver could get door #1 and a DR A driver on pole could get #10.

On another note, I shaved another 4 tenths off of my race A time. :)

The way I understand it, you basically need to finish higher than your car number. The number the game assigns you for each race is based on where your DR ranks in comparison with everyone else.

Yup, bascically you need to beat all players with equal or higher DR than yourself to gain from a race, I think 80 points is the gain for beating an equal driver, then it goes either up or down from there depending on how much lower/higher that driver was than you. :)

Thanks, that's really helpful. Is there any way to see what car number you've been assigned before the race starts, so you can see what to aim for??

NP, anytime. Just jump into the warm up and stay in the pits, switch camera views and hit the rear view button, sometimes you can see it on your hood pre race. :)

I'll give that a go! (not that it should really matter as should be aiming to finish as high as possible!)

I tried the Ferrari at Catalunya. It was pretty nice to drive while practicing (qualifying with retry not to set a time) Then I got into the race and the car is sliding all over the place. I can't even remotely keep the same pace, got rammed off 4 times, ended up with a 1 sec penalty for one of the bumps and finished last. I'll give it another go, but it seems I wasted my time making a livery for it. Why is the handling model so different between qualifying and race conditions ugh.

You should try that car with the tyre wear on too, not good is being polite. It's a shame so many of the Gr3 and Gr4 cars are almost unusable.

I might race at Race B this week if someone finds a car that can match (or almost match) the R8, I don't get on with that car at all. :indiff:

I did ok today with the Viper.... quite a surprise! Nice to drive. Probably a bit better than Corvette, AMG '16 or Ford LM (for me).

For me, the biggest problem this week is the car choices.
-350 hp front-wheel drive car at race A :yuck: (the track is pretty nice, though).
-And at C, the 86. The same car gets used over and over.

I probably should have specified that I don't understand people complaining about lack of variety. Other than Race C, the races do represent variety over what we have seen recently.

Completely with you about the TT though. I just gave it a whirl and that car is just no fun to drive.

Accelerate = understeer. Brake = understeer. Turn the wheel while coasting = understeer.

Second race with the Ferrari, no better. And I got a 1 second penalty for avoiding another car, track limits are strict, better hit cars instead of avoid :tup:1:52 lap time with the 458, going back to Lexus.

I suck in the Lexus as well, yet at least my lap time already went down to 1:49.
It's another 911 party :/ And my first red SR from all the bumps received.

I just tried race A, twice. Hated it. This may be the week where I finally try a race at Barcelona. Although I remember from the circuit experience that the track seems to have a bunch of random, unnecessary turns that kill the racing flow. Looks like punter's paradise.

I'm Mr. negative, today.

i'm forgetting tracks such as alsace , alsace II, yamagiwa, st croix .... quite fed up with real tracks on daylies.....

Yes, indeed!

I think, St-Croix is only being used since it debuted, sept. last year. Really want to race it again. And what 4 the BMB Infields, really challenging, but very rare. Then, Brand's! What an adrenaline rush with fast cars, but...nope!

I also can't figure it out annymore! Grtz

Erm.... no. Your door number has nothing to do with gaining points. In a grid full of the same DR, you loose points if you finish in the bottom half and gain them in the top half. If there is a mixed grid then it slides a bit. I've finished P9/16 and still gained points because there was higher ranked DRs on the grid. If you have a few DRs the same as you on the grid, you have a door number of 1 and you are on pole, if you finish P2 or 3 you are still going to get points, not loose them :p.

I agree with you on that track, just too many sharp turns to slow you down... I want to race, not drive to the store for milk and bread, give me a flowing track to let the engine roar!

Fourth attempt, second attempt in the Lexus. Finally not rammed, finished 8th. Best lap time 1:49.4.
A 911 won with ease with a best lap of 1:46.6

Catalunya is another meh track like Autopolis. Enough for now. 4 laps is too short to get into the zone and race C no thanks.

Catalunya should have been C. Hmm, how about SF19 at Phillip Island for race C...Oh, Right...No Phillip Island (Yet?)

Waha, third win today with the F-Type Gr.3. Fun little car but has some big under steering issues. Also managed second with the Ferrari 458 but dropped it for this week after having more stability issues. I got the 458 to be pretty good around Maggiore but it’s just not having Barcelona this week.

Shouldn't that Fuji race be with the SF19 Toyota to compensate the Suzuka race with the SF19 Honda?

It wouldn't matter, it would still be bad. With that long straight and the "overtake" button you'd just have cars ramming into each other all down the straight or you'd pass a car and then that car would slipstream you right back and divebomb into T1.

You would probably end up with four wide situations too, one wrong move and you'd all be off track.

Race A With the dreaded TT :D Not so bad after all. Actually had fun with it, and the track is quite fun, when you got the lines ok.
Qualy 1:28.729
Did one race, started P4 and finished P2, my door number was 11. 2 A+ and rest of the room A dr.
Managed somehow finish with red SR:S. So 91 left on SR points. Bit odd thou, I didnt hit no one??
