.... It's just AWFUL.
I have a decal that sums up how you feel. On my helmet.

I also have little time to race due to responsibilities...,

That right there is the only valid reason someone can claim for their rating being low.

It's existentialism in a nut shell. We are all responsible for the outcomes of our own lives and we make the choices that affect our lives. If you can or cannot devote time to your racing, it is what it is.

Laying blame on others, or controllers, or whatever cause outside your own efforts is simply scapegoating. After all, we aren't seeking a cure for cancer here, so what a great way to practice taking responsibility for oneself.

Check this out.
I tested all the Gr.3 cars in Time Trials for race C. Of course I used all the race settings and automatic transmission. This list is for those of you who, like me, can't drive the NSX like Igor can (not even top 10 for me). I drove every car with TCS 2, because they're all undriveable for me with anything less. I did 3-4 laps each. Although, I didn't even complete 1 lap with some cars, because they sucked so bad. This is not meant to be a list of the best cars, but rather a list of cars that work well for those of us who aren't experts. #1 sure did surprise me.

The Peugeot has a similar feeling to the Porsche, but obviously gets me around the track more quickly.

The GTR and M6 did better than I expected, because they felt sluggish and heavy.

- Worst piece of garbage: Ferrari 458
- Cars most willing to put the power down, despite the TCS 2 restriction: Viper, Mustang
- Best handling: RCZ

Just hoping this helps some of you. There are cars on this list that never get any praise, and rarely get mentioned, but are worthy competitors.

* I have no idea how any of these cars will do on fuel and tire wear.

Update: The Peugeot may be good for qualifying, but it wears out tires very quickly!
Gave the Peugeot a go, managed a time half a second quicker than I did in the NSX. Down to a 2:15.7 now

But BoP is set to On instead of None.. So I'm not sure what to think anymore..
The SF cars don't habe BoP, not sure if it's also the case for the Red Bull
Maybe I was reading too much into this... All of the open-wheeled cars don't have BoP..

And I'm assuming next week's race C will feature an open-wheel car given the fact that that has been the case with standing grids in previous races...

Wow! I didn't know it could do 15s. Nice job. 👍

I'm having trouble matching my times from yesterday. I'm gonna see if the manual transmission will help me.

Surely no group X car will have BOP, that's why they are put in that class. Maybe the class is the error, it's possible.

Pretty sure it'd do 14s in the right hands, and thanks
First lap with M/T; 2:30. With over 2,000 races on my books, surprisingly this is my first attempt at M/T in a Gr.3 car. I can see the potential, though. I saved my A/T ghost, and can make big gains in certain places.

Initially, I was trying to replicate Lesters gear changes, but quickly realized that the gear ratios are totally different between the Porsche and the Peugeot. :dunce:

Dream scenario: last weeks race A but with the sensible VGTs. Let me race that FT1 with its lovely slides and DRS aggro mode.

Cheers Sven. I'll have to set up a private lobby to test fuel/tyre management over the 8 laps, and have a crack at it tonight.

Wireless headset got delivered earlier, so I can stay up nice and late without annoying my brother, and house mate too much.

Still can't recommend it, even though I only got hit once from behind (SR Down)
I started 17th, was in 11th when everyone pitted, moved up to 2nd then dropped down to 9th in the last 4 laps.
EMud.jpg

It required extreme short shifting in the Lexus. Shift up as soon as the bar becomes visible and stay in 5th in the 3 long sweeping corners.
Normally my best lap is 2:20 flat with 2:21's on average going up to 2:23 or 2:24 on lap 4 mediums.

I tried 5 laps on hard, 3 on medium next. 7th place finish with a best lap of 2:19.150 (lap 7). Stopping is better and starting on hards works pretty well when starting at the back as the mediums go to waste anyway on the first 2 chaos laps. I was lucky though to have a bit of a gap to the ones coming out of the pit in lap 5, so not to get run off.

Yeah when you get run over by a car in the street, you are responsible of the outcome of you own life. Totally. Not. Smart.

And it seems you're forgetting the different regions are not all equally competitive but mostly that it's not just about devoting time, but just about people not having equal abilities.
Many people on this forum play several hours a day, and will never reach the level of some others that are playing few hours a week.

Gr.3 at Le Mans.

I see how it is, PD.

You're targeting my weakness.

You're tempting me back early.

You're trying to throw my self-discipline out the window.

But I will not give in.

No. Not today.

This is fine.

IT'S NOT FINE. I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M MISSING THIS.

It's ok, it's probably gonna end up being a maclaren F1 GTR race so, it will be a bit boring.

Here's my lap

Watching it back there were a few mistakes there, but should give a rough idea of gear selection etc.

I'll add my prediction for SR per race

Race A, 17 sectors with SR up, 6 SR for a clean race
Race B, 9 sectors with SR up, 3 SR for a clean race
Race C, 38 sectors with SR up, 15 SR for a clean race

Looks like my SR will take a beating on Sarthe next week, 1 bump from behind will be enough to get a neutral rating.
Maybe Autopolis with be with the SF19 for some fun.

I picked up an ethernet(LAN) cable today, I’m now hard wired in. Upload speed didn’t really change much but download speed did supposedly. I’m curious to see if gameplay changes at all or if I get less hiccups from GT now. :)

I also picked up a wireless keyboard, trying to type from a wheel after a race sucks lol.

Ok tired the 4C again for Race B qualifying but it is just slow at accelerating and has poor top speed, I'm driving it badly too but even if I were not it'll just get swamped by other cars in a race.

Tried the Vantage and SLS but they are not quick enough to bother to put time and effort into running a good lap or to even think about using them in a race over other cars.

Also tried the RCZ and boy is that thing quick, fastest in a straight line in fact but to say it understeers is a understatement. Use one of these in a race and you'll annoy everyone else just as much as a Veyron user, well if you don't just understeer off the track, which is likely if you end up having to take anything other than the ideal line through a corner.
Try using the off throttle tuck in like the Scirocco. It 's not as tight turning as the Scirocco, but it gets you to the point you can stand on the throttle out of the corners with no understeer.

Edit: I'm uploading it now. Should be up in a little while.

sony's NIC isn't great and the speed test is not very accurate, qutie horrible actually. The test depends alot on PSN as well, I have 600Mb bandwidth and all my devices depict that but the PS4 test shows anywhere from 40Mb - 200Mb.

You are correct Sir. That’s exactly why I said supposedly, I have no other means of testing it though so that’s all I have to go off of unfortunately. :)

Finally after getting a wheel and just had about 3/4 days of really using it so far (responsibilities and being a dad and stuff...) i managed to get into the 2.16 daily race C qualifying! It feels like practicing with the wheel is starting to pay off. No alien stuff but happy with the progress! Don’t know if i would have managed this with the ds4.

I jumped right back in, 4th off the grid. D and C rank guys don't seem to know about TCS off the line. The three in front of me wanted to battle, and all got agitated with each other while I sat in the tow. Flat out along the "top" (of the map) straight and they all get out of shape, I slip through the gap into 2nd. Polish dude in front of me, I have a strange feeling, a guy with his lap time shouldn't be in the middle of the road on the way up to the hill, you wanna be right over by the right hand wall so you can go flat out... Wait a minute, he's gonna brake check us! I flicked it to the inside just as I saw the brake lights and slipped past. Cheers mate! His possibly dirty, possibly just sloppy due to frustration moves on me didnt pay up, took a couple SR downs in the back bumper, but all worth it!

My second win! And... C rank! Ya boi is C rank!

EDIT: All these likes... I feel the love... C rank ain't gonna know what hit it! In all honesty this thread and GTP in general is definitely helping me a lot! Feel much faster and more confident and able to diagnose the way my opponents are driving, being patient with overtaking and so on, so thankyou guys.
