Was gonna try and improve my f1 le mans time, but noticed my mustang was rocking a stock livery and slipped and made this:

Guess I have to drive it now...

I passed @TRL LIGHTNING !! :D

The only way I ever will.

Did they let you pass out of sympathy because you were in an NSX?

Sorry.

The Mustang disappoints me. It feels and sounds like it's really fast, and I want it to be, but it just underachieves at LeMans.

I feel sort of similar. It's too heavy at some sectors particularly around Esses. Like driving a truck at times. It's definitely fast and not bad overall. It's just there's better options.

Good work. Of all the 🤬 things we moan about  its people running stock liveries that annoy me the most!

Anyway a question for the hive-mind...

What do we consider the generally accepted etiquette for messing up the good old maison blanc sector (I.e. Porsche and Corvette) when in traffic?

If you get the proper line through there, with good throttle control you'll be quick and clean.

Buuutttt... if you get it wrong with someone close behind then chances are you're going wide at Corvette 2, it's just a question of whether you accept it and take the track limits penalty yourself or brake to try and make the corner, get punted and give the guy behind the penalty?

Asking for a friend

I've been on both sides, incidentally.

Those ones are pretty much as bad as they get.

I picked up a good one at Mulsanne earlier where a chap just completely forgot to brake but as he somehow managed to graze my bumper on his way into the sand it gave me 3 secs...

There has to be an update soon.

My opinion...you need to run your race. Go wide, and the guy behind should expect you to slow and get back on line. Any bump is on him. Now, if he gets along side, then it's on you to give him room.

That reminds me.

Need to make a UKIP/ we love EU livery.

Not sure how to split the two. But I'll figure something out.
I raced an account called "TheBrexitParty" a few days ago and their entry message was "Free Tommy" (for those of you outside the UK that is a reference to Stephen Yaxley-Lennon a well known racist/woman beater), I had to try really hard to force myself to drive clean, he/she didn't bother. I still won though.

I was thinking about using a decal I found the other day that says "Trump 2020" to do some profiling.

It's been like this since Sainte Croix was added to the game... Any time now!

Contact, other car goes off or hits the wall, either on his own or rammed by a third party, doesn't matter, you get a penalty. Actually the update has already happened as before it was the last car to make contact that got the penalty, which would have saved @sturk0167 in the first incident. (But people abused it by punting the car in front of them into the next car penalty free)

Two more races after my 5th to 14th mess.

They went pretty well. Currently have a 50% win ratio at la Sarthe.

Set a sub 4 minute race lap in the first of those two, too. 3.59.799. That included a .500 penalty coming out of the Corvettes.

I've seen his/her name on leaderboards. I'm not fast enough to get into the same lobbies. Fortunate, really. I'd hate to turn into one of those dirty drivers that we all hate so much.

The Free Tommy stuff does make me laugh. The people saying it would be calling for the immediate deportation/deaths of any brown people doing something similar.

Lol, a week or two ago on my very first race on my uk account the first thing someone asked me in the warm up screen was “BREXIT???” I said I was Canadian and more or less didn't care. And he replies with “TRADE??”

Ok

Might run a trump 2020 livery on a Mustang to see what happens. Bye bye SR.

This Ford GT is cursed. First race this evening I get punted so hard at the first high speed chicane my car is reduced to half the size after slamming into the wall. The car that punted me quit right after, so back to last. Then a diver at Arnage bumping me hard enough to end up in the wall, yet I get SR Down? Thus another neutral rating.

It's Friday, supposed to be clean! It is also dirty hour though. SR still at 99, DR dropping from the punts every race. It was better in SR.B.

Second attempt. I get to start last, good fortunes, or not. At the start of lap 2 there's a wobbly cloud of cars in front of me on the way to Dunlop. I compensate and follow close behind while making sure not to touch any of them, however the impatient GT-R behind me sticks a nose in, bumps me and takes a shortcut... I get 1 sec penalty sigh. My hatred of the GT-R continues. He does it again at Tetre Rouge, but this time he knocks me wide so he gets a 2 sec penalty. At least I didn't see him anymore after the penalty zone. -7 SR for that race, for one 1 sec penalty. At least I still managed to finish 6th. Friday has lost it's clean race day status.

3rd time is the charm, or rather 6th time including the 3 attempts this morning.

I got to start last in the fast room, that helped.

The GT-R seems to be the popular choice now. I'm not taking it seriously until they can drive it without shortcuts. I guess some people figured out the last penalty zone doesn't slow you down much.

That was easy after the Ford GT

It was the fast room again, GT-Rs won again, with red dots again. My second lap was 4:00.6 on the first try. Yep, that car is fast. I had a fun duel with a GT-R until he fell back at the Porsche curves. Good race, but bleh car. Onto the next one.

I'm more amazed at there being only 2 McLarens in your lobby. My lobbies usually have at least half of the field in them and in more extreme cases, it's like racing in a One-Make. I've been seeing a few GT-Rs, I didn't know or expect it to be that great. Maybe I'll try it out.

Don't go over to the dark side!

Another car I only want to drive once

It was a little slower room, yet still GT-Rs at the top, who won again, with red dots again. I could have had 5th yet the final penalty zone ruined the end of my race. A Brazilian with 1 sec penalty unghosted and rammed me at the chicane, perhaps he though he was still ghosted. He didn't even get a penalty for it, but I assume he got the SR Down as I got the clean race bonus. Lost 2 places off track, almost spun around :/

Weird car this one. First understeer, then quickly snaps into oversteer at lower speed. It sucks through the Porsche and Corvette curves.

Damn it. I lost because of my reliance on cones. 2nd lap, I'm in 2nd place and me and P1 both blew the first chicane because the braking cones were gone. :banghead:
I ended up 3rd, and he got 6th.
@Stencedaddy was there.
I'm trying go drive without the cones now ... I've got the blue blobs engaged, but also the brown track guides. Which are mostly quite wrong but at least they sort of let you know where I am on the track.

I had a few races last week where there was a cone on the racing line, next to the apex. One race I avoided it, which slowed me down. I was leading so the guy behind gained. There it was next lap - so cars must have been running over it. So the net lap I punted it off the track. My car rose into the air and lurched. I lost lots of time.

In a real car, if you hit a wooden post at high speed, the post just snaps and you hardly touch your car. Hit it at slow speed and you will damage your car. But hit a plastic cone, and you won't damage anything, let along feel it in your car. What are PD software engineers smoking when they have cars disturbed by light weight cones? In a game that doesn't allow damage?
