The great DR slide continues, but I am having fun (mostly). Did one Race C, to narrow and to slow for that circuit. Need to do way more laps. Race B is better, best result.. 2nd, midrace.. After a few very optimistic overtakes and lots of bumping and grinding a perfect GT-Sport 17th place before more havoc put me at 14th or 13th..

I know I am the minority here, but back when penalties were harsher I had more clean racing and experienced more respect among drivers.
The amount of pushing around on a high speed late breaking circuit as Le Mans is to much..

Man, no time for racing or reading here, the last day and a half. Come on this morning and theres like 4 pages to catch up on lol

Next weeks races look to be not bad. Curious what will be in the a race, we did the fugu there already so with the slight uptick in sport mode variety, i am hoping it will be something else, i have no real guesses though.

Happy fried day yall

I hadn’t thought about that song in Yeeeeeeeaaaars, thanks for the reminder.

Race A next week might be the same as Suzuka. I don't dislike the track but i wish we had bigger tracks for road cars.
Still can go for some interesting racing .

Race B is a bit boring with gr4 and Race C is ok, at least it's not a japanese track ha

Based on my la Sarthe race last night, the GTR should do pretty well, too. Out brakes, and out handles the F1. Sticks to its tail nicely with a draft, too.

Tyre wear may change things a little bit, however.

For monza people focus on top speed but a) exit speed and b) riding kerbs are keys. Long straights but nothing like Le Mans where top speed is king.

Not a problem. I also decorated the front, back, hood and roof. 👍

Your livery is definitely Barney Stinson Approved!!

Been really enjoying this week's Daily races B and c but a couple of dirty players have tanked my sr, so irritating especially when your faster and they won't let you past cleanly or at all and when you do you instantly get punted of circuit.

Back to la Sarthe, starting P1 in the Aston, with McLarens P2,3,4 and 6, and even more boringly, all in stock livery!! I got a decent buffer out of tetre rouge, but P2 caught up by the second chicane, looked, but ducked out thankfully, although he breezed past before mulsanne corner. I drafted him down to Indianapolis, and stayed with him until he ran wide at Corvette to get a 0.5s penalty which he quickly doubled by cutting the next bit. He then braked very early (maybe expecting to slow down in the penalty zone?) for the first ford, only just dodged him, must have been by millimetres. He got back past before the PlayStation chicane, but lost out with the penalty, and got caught up with one of the other McLarens. He somehow got another penalty to serve at the Arnage zone, but by then the other McLaren was past him, and right on me towards Porsche. I stayed right, no one's going to overtake round the outside there right? Wrong! He went for it, and ended up in the gravel, must have given me the tiniest bump though, heard it, got the SR down, but didn't feel it, and no penalty, so drove the rest of the lap unopposed to take victory no.5, my first repeat victory!!

Just had a daily race C where I dropped from P2 to about p12 or 13 on lap 1 because T1 with grid start and managed to work my way back up to 1st on the last lap with a little bit of fuel saving helped me go from 5th to 2nd after the put stop and helped me gain about 4.5 to 5 seconds on first who was about 11.5 seconds ahead and then catch them by about a second or more a lap from then on to catch them on lap 12 and pass them after they made a little mistake in sector 2 and win by 6 seconds. Just wish I saved the replay.

So after a week full of work and not many chances of switching on my PS4 I decided to visit Le Mans again today. It would be such a great Car-Track-Combination if this wouldn't be a sprint race and people acting like they are racing for their lives. I had a fun duel with a Porsche in lap one. We both were clean and went side by side through the second half of the Porsche curves and the chicanes, not even a single bump. Then I hit the grass at tertre rouge which allowed him to pass me but I was able to pass back long enough before the second chicane. I breaked at my regular point and he crashed (indeliberately, it was just a tap) into my back -- 2s Penalty for me.

These inconsistencies and also the regular "I chose the McLaren because it's fast"-drivers makes this week a real dissapointment to me. I rarely drop in SR but this week took me to SR A (76) and took about 4000 DR just because I started in 6th, 7th or 8th, got bumped off and then finished at the very end of the field. And I only had 4 races this week.

When watching the replay why I got the penalty after the Porsche-incident I noticed, that driving aids are allowed again. So that means after a few weeks of real competetive racing with people actually caring we're back to bumper cars (although I have to admit I have no idea when the aids were allowed again).

It's just hillarious.

First race of the day, Penalty free in the M3 again! Not a bad start, I even avoided a guy who seemed to have misjudged his braking point, thanks to my mirror. That would have been race ending had I not seen him. :)

All camera views should have a usable rear view mirror!!

I moved from bumpercam to hoodcam because I prefer the increased visibility of the road ahead but my word I miss the rearview mirror for exactly that reason. So many collisions could be avoided if I could see someone flying in too fast for the corner!

I’ve tried hood cam and I really wanted to like it, but I just can’t do it without the mirror. If it had one I’d have probably switched for that very reason, you can see so much better in traffic. :)

I've done a lot of race B qualifying laps in the McLaren F1, and obviously am aware of it's lousy braking and handling. I just used it in the race for the first time, and it's even worse! Won't be using that piece of crap again. Back to the Chickmobile. 👍

Update: Yup. Definitely the way to go. Lower top speed, but 7 seconds faster overall, with no sliding.

Sounds like the BMW is good, I'll give it a shot based on your posts. I got it for my daily car yesterday so maybe it was fate. It beats being one of the F1 clones.

Viper is also good although it's slower on the straight compared to the Ford GT and McLaren but handles much better.

Yeah, the BMW has become my favorite for this race. I finally took the ladies to victory lane. 👍

Especially in the Ford GT. In bumper cam I feel like my nose is scraping the pavement. The mirror is essential though. I look more at the mirror than the road ahead while braking.

Think I was in that race with you, and thought I recognised the name.

I was going with the Z4, and from 15th on the grid, I think I managed 7th.

Next race took the Jag out. Again 15th on the grid and finished 5th with a clean race bonus (whoo hoo) and somehow pulled off the fastest lap! Had some knob try and squeeze me off at the end of the Mulsanne straight, so as we approached the kink, I was on the inside with my nose slightly ahead, hit the brakes early and they totally outbraked themselves, hit the kitty litter and promptly quit. Had a Brazilian try the same move in the previous race; same result. I safely make the tight right hander, neither opponent does.

Yeah, some cars are super low in Bumper cam, I wish you could adjust the view up/down in all views like you can in cockpit view. Why put the option in and then restrict when they can be used?

I'm sorry. I didn't notice. Was it your main profile? I do remember seeing a Z4 at the bottom of the starting grid.

I continue my contrarianism - bringing the INFOWARS AMG into race B with my 4.01 f1 lap i'm still working off.

4th on the grid for this one, and it's pretty much an f1 fest up and down the grid. Got some weird understeer between dunlop and tertre rouge, ate some wall and got 1.5 so every f1 down to 9th passed me on the middle straight. Felt a little disheartened but I grimaced and buried my foot as usual, grabbing back positions all the way from indianapolis to the start of lap 2. In 5th and I have the tow of 4th, he screws tertre rouge worse than I did at lap 1 and goes way wide, I nail it and the following chicane and get the slipstream from the French f1 in 3rd. Could probably have drafted past him but I actually eased off and didn't start making moves until Porsche. My quick gqins must have spooked him but I kept it uber clean, and he ate a penalty through the final curve and I passed him into chicane 1, where I probably would have got him anyway.

Have enjoyed taking cars geared toward gains through the curves than the straight line cars. In 2 laps it just feels like there are more gains to be had with the penalty line there and the short final run to the finish. Haven't had many good starts or much Mulsanne passing, but the results have been generally good especially with the AMG.
