Not bad, for getting 4 seconds at the traffic jam chicane, going off twice, having so much time during an early pit stop to think about changing tyres or not, losing a big gap to cars behind by going off and hitting the chicane and going off again at chicane exit and going off again in the infield. Breathe...

Started here last race.

Now here this race

Should be fun

Bogus last race. No penalties for me. I get brake checked by a Megane, after it came out the pits. I could have forced a pass, but just tried to stay on its tail until a better opportunity. Slams on the brakes and I punt it way off ahead. No dot.
Had a last lap battle with a Jag(I should have blocked the whole lap). Gave it space to pass at Fordwater. Into St. MAry's, I had too much speed. Broadsided it and we both slid through the corner. I backed out of it. A 458 ghosted through us and hit the Jag. I hit the 458. No dot.

Jag drives to the other side of the track. I slowed and wait for it to reenter. Followed it to the finish. Was in 9th before all that drama. Bye bye top 10.

Was that the “Devil” in disguise?
He did the same to me at Gardens and ended my 10 race clean streak.
Don't think so but I will check by looking at a game I saved ...

I wanted to get even for a couple of races and then fortunately I had things to do ... when I came back he was still there ... once again I got booted out ... later in the night I came back and fortunately he had out-qualified me ... by a few thousands - which was good, I thought I'll watch him ... instead, he's slow as the first turn, I pass him ... and then capow - he punts me again. That was enough for me as I lost about 1200 DR so that was it for the week .

Wow...... Goodwood is a circus tonight. Idiots everywhere the eye can see. Just rage quit 2 races, 1 I had some idiot bumping me off track every turn, then got caught in a ghost/noghost event. 2nd race I had some idiot fly up on me in turn 2 clipping my side and flying off track since he was traveling probably 50mph too fast for the turn...... naturally I receive the 5 sec penalty and then get spun again by idiots.

I'm going to give it one more attempt before writing Goodwood off. Seriously people, it's a 15 lap race dont act like imbeciles on lap 1.

EDIT: Make that three rage quits in a row. It's a straight up circus. Got another ridiculous 5sec penalty for an idiots mistake.

I've come to realise that I struggle to keep concentration after 10+ laps.

I'm good around Goodwood up until the pits. Then after that, when I start thinking about time splits and seeing if I can catch anyone I just lose focus and go gardening. It starts with the left hander. I forget to brake there at least once a race in the last 5 laps when I'm concentrating on the deltas etc.

Tyre degradation probably is a factor granted. But I figure I've just found my current natural limit on this one!

Always enjoyable when this happens, though @AlexWilmot, assuming that's you? A nice little pick me up in yesterdays evening session! Thanks chap!

I guess upload any decal you want, then put it on your car right away. Once it's on your car, they can't delete it from your custom livery.
PD will un-share the car so it can't be used in online mode.

I’m gonna make something up tonight and see if it gets banned, from my alt account, just in case.
I got 30 days off early in the piece for a, ahem, livery and Sony console blocked me. Tried making new accounts and nothing worked. Couldn't even access the psn store or download the first content update that introduced league and offline stuff. My Christmas holidays were less merry than I had anticipated :)

I won't be screwing around like that again.

Sweet I'm back to S after 2 easy wins.

What's the damn secret for the s turns after section 1? Only part that I can't nail down...like wrong car gearing or something

Drop down a gear and try to stay to the right, slower is fast through there. Right now I'm at a 1:14.9xx with the Cayman.

EDIt: I said "stay to the left" meant the right. You want to line yourself up to hit the inside curb on the 2nd part of the corner and then your flat out till the next turn.

Just did a 1:15.494 in the Megane without trying. Should have left it alone. FF tyre wear might negate that in the race, but I juat wanted to see if it held up versus the Atenza. Yeah, bested it by 0.6 seconds. I'll run the WRX and RC F later.

I tried the GT4-Mustang yesterday evening and suprisingly almost matched my M4-Time (1:16.2 vs 1:16.8). The driving behaviour is quite similar though the different gearing needs some training to get used to.

I think I'll give it a try later and see about fuel/tire usage.

That's me

Did a couple more races at Goodwood today, this time with the Lexus RC F.

It feels competitive, but once the front left tire starts to wear out, you're in trouble.
I was competing for 3rd with a TT Cup. Whenever we had to turn right, I had to slow down a lot more in the later laps, which lead to it eventually passing me. Still a very fun race.

I am getting annoyed with Goodwood ultimate pace, track just doesn't suit me at all, but I find the races fun, war of attrition, hold back, wait for a spin.

My Q time is a 1.16.2, optimal high 1.15, but I genuinely cannot see much more time there whereas normally, I know if I've missed an apex or where to improve etc, so its a little disheartening, although in one of the races last night every single one of my race laps (except for lap 1 and pit in and out) was a 1.17.1, I'd just like to shave a second off that.

Also, I am finding it strange with cars, anything RWD I cant get lower than a 1.16.9, I was in the 458 and thinking I was tearing up the track with an amazing lap (similar in the Mclaren), and come in at 1.16.9, then I get in the RCZ and drive an AWFUL lap which comes in at 1.16.6, I got to a 1.16.2 in the Scirocco (which is now my favorite Gp4 car).

Races have been great though, no wins but after me getting B last week and then having "that race" with the c*nt and my DR reset, I am now back up to B S again, so 5 days (4 if you ignore my day trudging around deliberately at the back getting my SR back up). Now I have to figure out how to get good, as I fear from now, the real hard work begins.

This is my race from last night. A mixture of contentedness and disappointment.

Lap 1 was exciting - avoided a first corner penalty for the contact I made contact with the Beemer, it was as a consequence of his misdemeanors with the Ferrari, I was waiting for it, but the penalty system got one right for once.

Laps 3-10 were dull.

Laps 10-14 were me forgetting how to drive.

Lap 15 was both a disappointment and a blessed relief.

For those interested - some observations concerning my DR/D career. We're kinda plateauing on the result front at present. If my SR drops to B/A then I can normally muster a top 5 finish. Now that I'm back up to SR/S I'm languishing mid-to-bottom of the leaderboard. But my race-craft is improving for the most part and I've more or less maintained a DR of around 2-3k for the last couple of weeks. Got to watch that, I might start to care about it again...

But I have noticed a significant improvement in my QTTs. I remember when I first started daily races, I was ecstatic if I could within 10secs of the 'Aliens' on the longer, technical circuits. Now I'm regularly within 7secs (shorter tracks = shorter splits, naturally, as there's less corners mess up and lose time on!).

We're getting there. You never know, I might get a pole position/fastest lap/victory before the PS5 arrives...

I am no expert, but I find watching the qualifying laps to be a massive help, I also make a point to try and keep my SR at S, because even though I know I have got less chance of winning, I just find being a lobbies with faster drivers automatically makes me push harder, learn where they are getting time on me, and getting faster.

What I find the most frustrating about this week, is that I was hoping goodwood would be a level playing field and I could be a little closer to the aliens, but it hasn't worked out like I would have hoped, and people are just naturally faster and thats kinda depressing. Or maybe my settings are wrong, I dont feel connected to any of the cars like I should do, except the scirroco, but thats only because I spent so much time in it last week that I can predict it. I also have to consider that playing for 2 hours a day at the very most is always going to put me at a disadvantage.

If ever there was a track which suited the "slow-in, fast out" mantra, this is it. The hardest corner for me to get right was Lavant. The braking point is far sooner than you expect, and you need to be on the throttle at the point of the first apex otherwise you lose too much speed on the following straight.

@Mistah_MCA puts up superb lap guides on YouTube. Hope these help you shave a few tenths if you haven't checked them out already.

Also, as you mention in your post, your consistent lap times = good results, so well done. I'm definitely guilty of over-pushing and taking the odd excursion, so perhaps you're best served by ignoring my advice completely :boggled:

FYI, I do have the same problem as you with the Ferrari. It feels ferociously fast to me, but I can't match my Lambo times.

:D:cheers:

I'd also like to note that for the guide on the C race, I used a non-meta car (Viper Gr. 4). If you choose to give it a shot, you'll need to be really aggressive on the sharper turns from Sectors 2 and 3. It understeers a lot, so you need to force it to slide and get on the throttle ASAP.

Another good candidate is the Lexus RC F. It has great speed, but shows weakness in the turns, especially later in the race.

Just had my 1st race of the week @Seaside. Starterd 10th with my F1 Mclaren. In front of me: 4 Beetles, 2 Ford Gt's, 2 Gr Supra's and a 911. Finished 9th. Guess the top 2: 2 Beetles.
Maybe i give the Bug a try cose i can't get my Q time under .39.4. ...Never thought the Beetle was one of the cars to drive here. I always try to avoid driving it, but, well, let's give it a trx.

Yeah the Beetle is nice on Seaside, especially thru the bus stop and chicane

I'm glad I quit early (9:30 race), looks like it didn't improve after my first quit.

Dropped from S to A thanks to the ridiculous penalties.
EDIT: It changed it's mind and dropped me from S to B . Just won a Goodwood race by 30sec lol. This Penalty/DR system is a bad joke.

It doesn't update till the race is over so you saw the results of the previous quit. I only saw this morning that my quit cost me 6 SR, there must have been some SR Downs from getting punted off.

Sweet I'm back to S after 2 easy wins.

And that's the essence why SR loss is pointless as a disciplinary tool and welcomed by those that want to win at all cost. And also why SR.S is often dirtier than the lower tiers. SR.S is ram to win, or easy win the next race.

Thanks to those who recommended the Lexus at Goodwood. I'm down from 1:15.9 > 1:15.5 in qualifying and that still included a sketchy manoeuvre around the chicane. It's RNG when I'm at the wheel, sometimes I'll go through well and other times 🤬 completely. I also found this car doesn't like to eat grass very much so beware.

Never thought the Beetle was one of the cars to drive here.

Are you not losing speed to others on the straight? I found it to be an issue with the 4C. It's great around the chicane but you eventually lose speed on the straight after the chicane and before the first turn.
