Technically, ZigZag is classified as a Tobacco related product, it was always sold here as a cigarette rolling paper before pot became legal in Canada and Tobacco logos are definitely permitted by PD.

On a related note, Does anyone else find it strange that in a time period where(here in Canada anyways) cigarette companies will soon not even be allowed to put their logos on their own products, PD still allows them in the game where kids can potentially see them?
Not sure they cover the cigs in Japan yet. Still a just a warning label I think. And they still have vending machines with ads on them all over the place I think.

And yeah ZigZag was a "tobacco product". Back in the day I used to only have the courage to buy ZigZags if I felt the cashier was "cool".

Politics, huh?

As soon as you start banning stuff that one or two people have a problem with, it grows into an avalanche of crybabies that won't stop (see California). That's why a lot of governments have a policy of not paying kidnapping ransoms. As soon as you give in to them and pay it, you're gonna get a hell of a lot more kidnappings.

I don't know if someone from PD looks over all of the decal uploads, or just look at ones that people report. Probably the latter. It would be nice if they put out some black and white criteria for decal uploads, so you know it's not just being deleted by someone at the company who takes personal offense.

I hate censorship.

I agree!! I blame participation trophies, we had a young guy quit at work last week because he was asked(not by me) to pick up the pace a little bit, Once, he never came back after that day. Apparently that was too much to ask.

I'm really digging Daily Race C, especially considering how new Goodwood is to the game. No one car feels overly competitive and it's not difficult to do well as long as you take it easy. I do really enjoy the new circuit, especially with the Gr.4 cars. I'm also glad the race is on the longer side so I can settle into place and just focus on my driving and fuel strategy.

Some people do get too aggressive though, especially at the start of the first lap, the standing start certainly doesn't help.

He probably didn't get asked properly. I'm betting he didn't get a hug and a latte when he was asked. :(

Back to the Seaside, I seem to like to be beside it this week. This time in the R8 which I haven't used in a while because I raced it religiously at Catalunya and became bored of it. Now it feels fresh again, it's much more smooth like butter.

I improved my QT to 1:39.3 although it still only gave me P10 in a lobby of DR A and Bs. Lap 1 was a little chaotic, I found myself in a 3-wide after T1 and the car in the middle high five bumped me twice and ended up pushing the driver on the left off the track. SR down for me while he was given a 2 second penalty. Next up I noticed the driver ahead had a 5 second penalty, I was near him when he fell victim to the chicane which brought me up to P6.

Lap 2 approaching the chicane, I passed a second of the chicane's victims to P5 and onto lap 3, I started to sway like a rowing boat with a drunken captain at the helm out of the first turn which dropped me to within half a second of P6. At the chicane, I went through slow and P6 pass me although we both passed another chicane victim on our way out so I held P5.

I was behind P4 all the way until the last lap when a Supra lost control at the corner before the chicane and kissed the wall. :O Not quite podium but close with a 4th position finish.

Races around Goodwood have been absolute mayhem even in the 99 SR group. Nobody seems to have figured out how to drive two abreast around the first part of the circuit yet, so if you sort of hang back from the pack and let people take each other out you can typically pick up 3+ positions in the first 30 seconds of the race. :)

The first turn/straight at the start of the race are pure hell with the standing start. Spacial awareness just goes out the window.

Ah, Race B.

I'm done. Until the penalty system gets an update, I'm doing nothing apart from Q laps. Or maybe next week's race C. Because they're generally not full of desperate halfwits.

Get hit while someone dive bombs me? Penalty. Twice.

Get hit by someone coming back onto the track? Penalty.

Get hit from behind while braking? Penalty.

SR down most sectors, and the above penalties in three laps, and we have my first rage quit since just before Xmas.

We know the feeling.

But getting a large minus SR is a GOOD thing. Because you then get to race against slower drives and get back some DR that you just lost.

And it'll be farer too, because you'll be further up the grid due to the slower drivers; and also because the fast drivers in the lower SR scores are afraid of being re-set - so they'll drive cleaner than those with high SR scores, who mostly just want to pass you at any cost and are not afraid of lowering their SR ... in fact many look forward to it because if they increase their DR but at the same time lower their SR, they are rewarded by meeting easier competition as I just explained.

Conclusion: being a fair driver doesn't really work in this game ... unless you are uber fast.

Note: Last week I lost more DR than I gained racing - initially due to my own crashing. I probably lost 5,000 DR due to crashing while leading races last week. So I stopped crashing and gained back and then made some DR, until I met a single driver who was fast, driving at 6:30 am and then all day and also way into the night. He simply won by being fairly fast and by skilfully punting people. IMO there was nothing I could do against him as my mindset is not to crash into people deliberately. So when I was ever in front of him - he just punted me out, as soon as he could, and skilfully too. There's a skill in knocking into people in this game and its a skill that is rewarded up to a certain point. I am not sure in an all A+ field whether such tactics still work.

Was that the “Devil” in disguise?
He did the same to me at Gardens and ended my 10 race clean streak.

It's really quite simple, pick a side, stick with it. However when the car in front is slightly slower people immediately veer over to the other side regardless of who is there. Can't lift, that's blasphemy. The finish is at the first left after all.

The false starts don't help, nor people spinning their tires. I pass about 3 or more cars before the line. Staying behind waiting for them all to get going doesn't work as then you will get hit by track re-entries. Dunno what's so hard about the start, press gas when all lights are on, release brake when all are off. How do people keep screwing that up! If you spin your tires, start with tcs or pick a awd car.

Some races have great starts though with people doing the right thing and merging into single file right after T1 to take the high speed corners without a hitch. Not in A/S, those think it's always the final lap

Ooh season 5 Black Mirror is out, couple races then Netflix!

I've been loving Goodwood but it's not been kind to me this evening. These clips pretty sum up the story. Re-joins are the most dangerous thing to look out for!

Like this one you can often see them coming a mile off. But just don't know what to do about it...

Later in the same race. Same guy..... After ruining my race he quits...

For those keeping track. My visit to DR:A lasted a day

I get so stressed out when I see someone up ahead just galloping through the grass to rejoin in this race. I appreciate the authenticity of Goodwood being a "classic" track, but I'm just saying some gravel traps and less open fields would certainly be nice haha.

1:39.1 in the GT-R at Dragon Trail. I've been in the 38s on the optimum in a race. I wish it was easier to control the throttle with a DS4, the wheelspin you get coming out of the hairpin before the chicane is awful because you have to turn as you accelerate.

Race C... Its great race track but prone to penalty system and drivers. I get penalty for other car try to pass and hit me close to turn. Very uncalled for it. Other is drivers(most) is reckless and stupid who only think is speed speed speed that carried crash, ram other car. The safest way to get out of those clueless driver is first two car with best time trial time at starting point. Thats how I aim the best time trial. Got 1.15.7xx sec. I either come first or sec most of time. Incredible points achieved.

Back to the wood in the Ferarri tonight. I got taken out in lap 1 by one of the many track re-entries, can't avoid them all. Got back on the track in last behind 3 cars with penalties flashing. The Ferrari is pretty tame in GR.4, I can't drive it quite as fast as the Huracan yet, maybe next race. I got in a little dispute with a bumper. Apparenlty he wanted a break check so I gave him one in the chicane after he bumped me a couple times. Fun fact, the actual brake check did not give me SR Down lol. Then he punted me off later, so I passed him when he was serving his 4 sec penalty. As a final attempt he tried to wedge himself between me and another car in the chicane yet came off worst. Lesson learned I hope.

Next race with the B/S crowd again.

I waiting for someone to report serving a punter into the pits on last lap or something.

Been doing mostly Race A so far this week. Got my QT under 1:07 today (woo). Hasn't helped in races though. Everyone else is so fast. And consistent. It's been fun but hard with no room for error.

On a personal note a few days ago I lost a super close friend who was ill for a long time. I'm was all over the place emotionally. I'm very thankful to have GT in my daily routine. It's given me an escape and an excuse to focus on something else for awhile and helped me get through a few tough days.:)
Sorry for your loss. Our prayers and wishes to you, and their family.

That would be tricky on this track, I have seen people getting completely stuck at the chicane. That race in B/S was very dirty. I got bumped off a couple times, by a penalty server, track re-entry, dive bombs. So many red ratings while the race has a lot of SR. I guess nobody likes to be in SR.S :lol:The Ferrari is not great at absorbing blows. I didn't change tires either since they seemed to be fine but forgot that tire wear accelerates at the end. Thus became a target again at the end, as passing through cars is still the preferred overtaking method.

Next back to a no stop in the Citroen, perhaps that will keep me out of the mess. Fast room next, let's see if they behave a bit better.

I cheated in that race yesterday and didn't get penalized. It was near the end, and I had been in the grass many times. A bad finishing position was certain.
I went around the chicane to the right, to see how much the time penalty is. None! It was way faster, too. No braking. Just a slight lift off the throttle for half a second. I assume it was an anomaly, and a 1-1.5 second penalty would be normal, and my no-penalty was a fluke.

I did not do it a 2nd time. I was just screwing around, to see what would happen.

Maybe if you wanna get even with a dirty punter at the end, use this technique to steal his position.

I like the track but it doesn't work well with the current penalty system which is limiting my enjoyment of it somewhat. Even so, I'll continue to race on it since it's still fun overall.

Haha yes, I meant that I find it quite fun, and challenging in a good way. A lot of people in the thread about the update were saying how much they hate it or how boring it is, which I don't quite get.
I think Gr.4 cars are the right pace for it, kinda like BTCC, but I agree the current penalty system is a bit of a mess there, hence Race C goes better if you hang back and let everyone else take each other out. Of course, the likelihood of being hit is too high anyway. Some of the cars in Gr.4 with a larger footprint or that are a bit wider are also not really the best to share this track with. I had an easier time in the corners with the 86 than others were having in the 458, for example, and they seemed to have to take the chicane much slower. There are a lot of drivers who can't do the corners (particularly the first or St. Mary's) at all though, and spear back on at a ridiculous angle while obviously in control, because it wasn't uncontrolled movement but targeted re-entry (this was even happening with people shoving each other off in the straight sections). The B/B race was disgusting but I somehow managed my usual drama avoidance and went up to B/A, which was a little more subdued, but still everyone dying at St. Mary's. This race has one of the higher drop-out rates, I guess because of the high number of collisions. Both races went from 20 to 17/18 drivers before even starting, and down to 12/13 by the end.
Either way, my little 86 was pretty fun I think, at least compared to the Goodwood offline races I already did.

Too dirty tonight. I still got bumped off multiple times doing a no stop in the fast room. I leave plenty room to go by but some people simply can't make a single pass with bumping someone out of the way. Then at the end someone accuses me of running him off road in the braking zone. I never saw him during the entire race, passed him in the pit, I didn't have any penalties, never hit anyone. My car is pretty recognizable with all the Ghibli stuff on it... My finish time was still faster than the one stops where I got bumped off even more.

Next race with B/S crowd I quit after getting bumped off 3 times in the first 2 laps. 1:22 laps trying to dodge all the track re-entries and bumper car drivers, no fun. Beat sabre time, Netflix, race in the morning. Early evening is no good anymore in SR.S.

Yeah I've been learning the hard way that you can't trust people to give you space through most of the corners on this track. The first couple turns are somewhat unconventional and people can't be bothered to keep an inside/outside line. Honestly it feels like that at every turn, but those ones seem to produce the worst punts.

This race has one of the higher drop-out rates, I guess because of the high number of collisions. Both races went from 20 to 17/18 drivers before even starting, and down to 12/13 by the end.

I just assume since it's a new track a lot of people don't bother properly learning the track and how much they can/should push on it, so they race other people too hard and just send it into other cars or the grass, and then quit out of frustration.

Tried a couple of race C. 9th on the grid. Great start. I tried the Megane trophy for the stability. Guessed it would serve me well in the chaos. Race went pretty good. Made a few mistakes but had a good battle with an American for the last few laps. Couldn't pass him but I was on his tail till the last lap. Finished 8th.

I decided to try the Vantage for the second one. Faster but a bit more tricky around the corners. Everything was going well till someone decided I wouldn't pass him despite the clear advantage of speed on he straight. A small bump on the side .... Wrong line to enter the turn .... In the grass ....and it was all downhill from there. I pushed too much to make up for the time lost ....in the grass ..... Missed another one .. and yep......in the grass !

Ended up sitting this one out in the pits ......

Sometimes it goes good, sometimes it just doesn't !!

I ain’t been on in a while but probably the best 1st post to read when getting here.

:cheers: Hope ya’ll are enjoying the races.

Finally got in the 1:06.9's for A. It is basically 1 important turn then make sure you don't go past grip limit on all the flat out turns.
