I haven't gotten to enjoy last week's Suzuka win, & I've already gotten wrapped up in this week's racing.

I decided that I wanted to race tonight. Like I said, Suzuka: love/hate relationship. Ran my best Q time in a Corvette, so I tried it in races. No wins, did finish above my car number, so I gained some DR points (back to C). SR climbed a little, but I was still C. Tried the Mustang since it worked so well in Gr. 4. Nope. Scratch that. So, before I went back to the 'Vette, I tried the Ford GT. New best Q time (2:03.925). Two races; second one was a mess. But the first....

Guys, have a look at what he built. It's amazing. I have no idea how to do this but I'm sure this might inspire someone that has the skills required to build a version for GT Sport.

The Ferrari is quite good at Suzuka, I managed a 2.03.3 with that car.

Yeah I just saw this so hopefully PD have jumped on it. There's also some maintenance coming up so hopefully that includes a fix to stop this.

Its because people were cutting the final chicane.

I noticed last night that the fastest lap had gone down by a whole second, and I thought that was odd, so I watched a replay of a pretty shambolic lap but going completely around the final chicane. There were about 10 in EMEA that had managed it without a penalty.

I tried another daily C, got punted into a dizzying spin, hit the wall 3 times while spinning and I get SR Down while losing 8 seconds and my tires are ruined for the rest of the race. It might be time for an extended break. I'll be out of the country from Friday till next Thursday anyway. Hopefully there's a decent combo to get back to, this week is a dud.

Oh well one more try, then send my kids to bed so I can play Super Mario Maker!

I quit that one, was in 4th, then an American taps me from behind then the wall, I get 5 sec penalty.

Nvm that, not in the mood for those shenanigans. I gave him a penalty back and turned GT Sport off. At the end of this month it will be the one year anniversary of this bug, started with St. Croix. SR Down 30 points from those 2 races, well done PD!

i can remember a video that U shared were you did the same exact bug exploitation for a entire lap at Tokyo express way and give like 30 sec of penalty and probably a DR reset to the other player lolllllll

You need to create another PlayStation account, but if you have both accounts on the same console you only need one PS+ membership. So all you need is a different email address to register the second account.

It's taken me 5 months to be as 'quick' as I am today. When I first started I was happy to be within +10 seconds of the Top 10. Now I'm consistently in and around +5-6 seconds.

So you're already ahead!

Consistency helps me. And that is basically a case of finding a car that suits your driving, that you are comfortable in and then just getting the best out of it. I'm sure I'll be corrected, but in my mind, the 'meta' car is only really good for 1 second tops in the higher echelons. We're talking about minor minor gains, really.

So what I've done over the last couple of months - in Gr.3 at least - is stick to 1 car, the AM Vantage. It might not be the 'quickest' or the 'meta' car that everyone else is driving for the top lap times. But frankly, if I keep driving it to the point it's symbiotic, it will get to a point that I'll either get it around the track as fast as that car can go, or the fastest I can drive.

It won't be top 10. But it'll be faster than a lot of people in DR/D can manage, whether they are driving the 'meta' or not.

That's my theory anyway

I'm trying to do the same thing with the Viper . The Viper is my favourite car since the RT/10, so it was an easy (though not the best/fastest) choice. It has amazing downforce and (for me) better traction out of the corners than the other cars that I've tried.
(Now I'm on a pause with the daily races - I'm so angry to myself to not saving the replay of my Viper/Suzuka win -, I'm sure I would bottle it only if I try to win again. Maybe next week .)

Yep. 100%. I am 100 plus races in and I would say that my 'genuine' overtake count is less than 20. 90% of gains are the result of driving around ghosts or cars in the gravel.

32 races, 0% "real" overtake.

Race A is a disasterzone. Had about 5 races last night and its clear that people are gaming the penalty system.

Its completely wrecked my SR, if I am running alongside someone on a straight (which happens quite a lot) if they repeatedly ram me, why the hell should I get a down arrow??

Also noticed a lot of nudging, just hard enough to upset the car, or pushing people into the chicane, you can easily lose 20 SR in one race, but then even a clean race only gets you 6 SR up.

I took one win last night in a BS room before my SR took a beating when someone nudged me into the chicane and then the 2 cars behind him bounced off my stationary vehicle onto the grass leaving me with 10 and half second penalty at which point I rage quit.

I think I will be avoiding race A going forward, as I had loads of trouble the last week I focused on Race A, seems to attract all kind of wrong racing withe people just not understanding racing etiquette and a faster Q time seems to make you a target.

IMO Race A shouldn't really count for much in the ways of DR/SR. The one make for Arcade style racing. Don't reward or penalise it. Just let it be the free for all it wants to be. I avoid it for mostly that reason.

It warrants its existence, it serves a purpose and has value. It just ain't for me!

Under pressure. Bin it.
No pressure. Bin it.
First lap. Bin it.
Last lap. Bin it.
Running comfortably near the front. Bin it.
A corner I’m good at. Bin it.
Usually only once per race which is what makes it so exciting - You know it’s going to happen more a case of when!! 💡

Thats a lot of Binning. One advice,stop thinking about the result. Just drive and you wouldnt bin it then. Focus on being clean helps as well.

I see some entries disappeared from the top 10 on kudosprime
Also see some entries just outside the top 10 that have never been so high on the leaderboard, so I guess they could only purge the ones with replays.

Daily Race A' Rankings Reset Notice

We have confirmed an issue in the Qualifying Time Trial Rankings for the currently held 'Daily Race A' event wherein lap times were recorded by using shortcuts on the track. As a consequence, we have reset those rankings in order to remove the offending records.

We deeply apologise to those players who were enjoying the event in a fairly manner, and hope that you will continue to support Gran Turismo Sport.

Looks like a wholesale wipe of all the Goodwood qualifying laps - there are none that have been set before today's date now showing.....

May 26, it's one of the few tracks I bother qualifying on hence it's listed on KP for me.

I'm foolishly going to try a no stop on race C to see how much SR it's worth. I'm down to 69 after 2 races getting bumped around last night.

Just 12 entries, popular race... SR.S to SR.C in the same race.

It's sad we need more walls to keep things fair. Could have just added a reset point... I hope those blocks are bolted down or more mess lol.

Yep, leaderboards wiped and barrier put in place. Hats off to PD for reacting to this so quickly 👍 Interesting to see that they can put something onto the track without an update or server maintenance needed.
