Thanks to you and @Pigems, @RZQSPEED, @Stencedaddy, @golfer07840, @Groundfish, @05XR8, @Trone_Colby, BenRod and others for coming. I'm really happy that someone showed up. I had fun. :) Some of the combos were bad, and some were good. It was all just random. I think it was the random tires that had the most impact. Maybe we'll do it again, when we have another week of crappy daily race combos. 👍

I thought it was really fun. We had some pretty cool combos. The GT3 Lambo at Willow Springs (thief I think it was?) Was very challenging.

But, could you imagine how far the aliens would push the top of the leaderboards if they got to use softer tires? I used to hate the hard tires as well, but I’m starting to see the light now. They’re harder to use and by getting used to them it makes you a better driver. :)

That's one way to look at it ;) and I guess it's true that it makes you better to learn to control the car with those.

I'd love to see the kind of gap we'd have to deal with on the leaderboards though :dunce::lol::lol:
 
Oups ! Daily B pole is done after the BOP update with a R8 :D so i should be able to do better than my ghost reference . So my goal is to go under 1:58.946 before Monday's :cheers:

I like the idea of Group 4, I really do, but it is so broken in this game. The FF cars are so fast and there's no real strong RWD option as thr Lancer and lambo are the best chance of beating the FF brigade. project Cars do GT4 and GT5 sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better, especially the sound and the feeling of mechanical parts moving.

To view a top 10 replay, go into a qualifying session and view the top 10 times. Click one and you get the option to 'Load Ghost'. That's what you need. After that just make sure ghosts are displaying and it will show that one as well as your own fastest time.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, if I load a ghost of one of the top 10 times, when I qualify it will show me that ghost??

Agree 1,000%. Hards suck the fun out of it, even mediums is so, so much more enjoyable. Could not agree more.

Ring GP has not been used in ages and i would argue is one of the best tracks in the game so long as folks behave into T1.

Just came back to playing the daily races after a couple of weeks and race C was so dirty at the start, even with S ranked SR I felt like I needed a shower afterwards.

See, not 100% sure it is dirty. I think what happens is the nature of T1, if you too fast you hit guy in front, too slow get hit from behind and even if clean you get eaten on next short straight. So there's this tension that sort of cascades on itself. Yesterday I started P6, was p3 into T1, was about to brake but just hesitated as i thought i may get tagged from behind for being too cautious, and at the same time P1 and p2 borked each other badly so the space in front of me evaporated and i tagged P2 off the track. Apologised profusely but he was rightly pissed.

I know some guys, including @Oshawa-Joe will practice daily races with worse tires so that when you go back to do the actually daily race/TT it makes it seem easier. Say for example we have Gr4 on RH, practice that combo for a bit with SS or SM tires and then when you switch back to the RH tires they will feel super grippy by comparison. :)
 
Well it's taken me 11 days, but I finaly managed to get back up to SR99. I did make it up to 97.. only to see it fall to 76 over the next 5 days :crazy:.

I did a couple of Race Cs and tonight a Race B. Race C was a bit of a disaster the first race. Started in last, finished second last as the only DR/D and lost all the points I'd gained at my last race at N24, but SR white after getting pummelled by typically impatient DR/Bs.

Next Race C was a bit better. Decided to forget about the no stop, take on mediums and pit after lap 8 just for tyres. That worked. I started in last place (P15), stayed on track. Kissed a wall once. No penalty but enough to blow the clean race bonus. Finished P11. Got back 11SR and 30DR.

Tonight, after many attempts over the past few days of trying to find a car that works for me, went out with the Vantage. Started P9/16 on a grid of D/S's. I was pretty far off the pace qualifying. The guy on pole was 3s faster with the same car.

The start sucked. Stupid mid chicane start. Made it through T1/2 and for the most part just focused on staying on the track. The Vantage is so stable and I must have had the settings right because I had the luxury of being able to see events unfold in front of me, hang back enough not to get caught up in it and then power on through the carnage. At one stage I was P4, but I was rudely barged past by a Heckle and Jeckle. One of them spun out soon after. The other one got a bit out of control, but I couldn't see an opening that didn't involve him slamming me off the road, so I hung back ... and he was able to stabilise and get a gap :rolleyes:. I had one muppet twice try to pass me at the hair pin on the inside ... hello? Can you not see that my wheels are on the frickin inside kerb? Anyhoo I finished P6. The guy who barged past me who finished P5 started second last, and finished with a red SR.

SR up at least 4 (99 is the upper limit :p), DR went up 370. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.
 
Seeing PD using another Sardegna Road Course layout in another class for next week pretty much puts it in a better situation than Sainte-Croix and Daily Races. Only the C layout of the French track was used in Dailies, with B and A being pretty much relegated to FIA and GT League events only, plus their Reverse variants.
 
Lago Maggiore East is a nice layout for race A. I'm glad they chose that course for next week, instead of the usual Center layout.
Since it's N300, I'm hoping of course, for the '69 Camaro. I just tried it out with race settings, and man there was tire smoke everywhere. :lol: Those Sports Hard tires were way overpowered. Tire choice doesn't matter too much to me, as long as we're all using the same ones.
It may end up being a weird car like the Plymouth Ghia or X-Bow.
 
I just did a custom AI race to simulate next week's Race C. Fuel Map on 3 and shifting when the red bar is at halfway gets you to the end. You can switch to FM1 for the last lap and a half.

I'm thinking take a car that starts with a higher HP because then FM3 is more in line with the rest of the field?
 
Juste did 3 custom races at Sardegna with settings for next week race C. A really fun track to drive (even with RH ... regardless of what I posted earlier :) ).

I have no idea which car is gonna be the best but, up 'till now, I tried the 458, M6 and Beetle. Volks is fun to drive but M6 is quite a beast. Hold good in the curves and speed is not too bad.

Still sooooo many to try though .. :eek:
 
Just took my Atenza (Gesundheit!) and my 2:05.9 into race B and started dead last on the grid. Hey-ho, another trundle round, SR up, DR down I thought.....but NO!!
Auto destruct by other players and keeping on the straight and narrow got me P6 :confused:

Also I was running TCS 0 as a Gr.3 trial, double bonus :lol::lol:
 
Hard tires make me good at doing other things. Seriously. RM should be the default. Yes, the aliens will be faster. So will the rest of us, and we'll have more fun, and the racing will be cleaner because we won't all be sliding around like bumper cars.

Keep us updated. I have tried everything to catch my R8 ghost with the new R8, but it's not happening. I've changed the BB from -2 (before the update) to +2 now.

Q time was 1:59.6 and my best so far is 1:59.9

I doubt that. There's been RM races in the past few weeks and it didn't make a difference.
 
Looked at my friends list this morning for qualifying times for this week's Dailies. Me and 1 other for Race A. 1 person Race B. Nobody Race C. Don't have many friends but usually around 4 qualy. times per race any other week.

Next week, N300? :sly:

I'll definitely put down some Q times, next week. All three races look pretty good (as long as A isn't a front-wheel drive). 👍

Interesting. Race A is always a maybe for me until the car is confirmed. Race B sounds like a good time as i quite enjoyed gr3 there a few weeks back. Race C isnt on KP yet.

GR4 it is next week then, unless N300 turns out to be a really nice driving car.
 
Not my cleanest day. But I went up 5kDr doing C.
Best tip I can give is try to hug the inside for t1 as much as you can.
If you're head to head with someone, stick to them and push them to the inside. Leaving the slightest gap can be fatal. Too many people missing the turn or straight up dive bombing.
 
Race A, with the SR system back to its old tricks. Went from SR 48 > 27 in one race because a Belgian guy was ramming me (and everyone else) every chance he got, resulting in me and everyone he hit getting penalties. Mine totalled 3s, his totalled around 12s, yet I lost significantly more SR according to KudosPrime. Lovely. Utterly disgusting racing.
I've found this past couple of weeks, I'm always starting around 10th no matter how good my quali time is, and always put with lower DR drivers so that any mistake made by anyone around me results in my SR taking the hit. It's been herculean to gain any SR at all, made slow progress from C to B only for it all to be not only ruined in one short race, but also sent to the lowest my SR has ever been.
Tried it again, clean and perfect all the way until the last chicane. Guy behind tapped me on the way into it under braking, we both went through it fine, then he went off of his own accord on exit. I got a 4s penalty. This must be some kind of sick joke.

What is the word about Gr.4 options? I had lots of fun with the Cayman, but didn't tried anything else really. Which one seems to be the favourite nowadays?
