Are you from the bay area? I've seen Giants and 49ers logos on your cars.

Actually, born and raised in NJ. Live 50 miles west of NYC in the hills.

"So why teams from the Bay area?"

49ers are easy, I was 8 in January 1982 when they won their first Super Bowl.

Giants are more of a long story.

Hockey is Chicago, because in the late 80's I used Chicago in an old Nintendo game called "Blades of Steel" and just started to follow them. Basketball is the Lakers (loved Magic and Kareem).

Now, back to racing....

Ha ha. Thanks for the explanation. I was raised in Northern California, hours north of San Francisco, where people are actually normal. :p
I'm with you on the Giants, but as for football, I've rooted for the Steelers far as long as I can remember. I have no explanation for the reason why. :dopey:

I can verify this. I studied in SF. Didn't stay there long enough to turn crazy.

Sources:
1. Raised just south of there, am normal.
2. Sturk0167
3. Everyone who doesn't flippin' live there but only goes there on April 20.

Next week's Daily Race B guide below.

Ill try to produce daily race guides for at least one combination per week, hopefully more.
The best lap times should be in the 1:28s. My theoretical best in the Cayman after10 laps was a 1:28.7, but that should be improved upon with more practice.
I recall the 4C being much weaker on hard tyres, so many MR and FF cars should set faster lap times, as well as the 86. However, I've not tested them recently due to time constraints.
If I have enough time next week, I'll be pushing for the world record at Brands, given that I'm a Brit.
Remember that you're driving on hard tyres, so there is greater chance of making mistakes, and overtaking in the daily races will be more difficult than on mediums and softs.
For Daily Race C, a brief Sardegna B track guide can be found on my channel.
Any questions, feel free to ask. Hope the video helps! :)

EDIT: Apologies for the croaky voice, I've been ill for most of the week

I had a new, faster qt. Errased today on sport. It hadnt shown up on kudosprime either. Does sport have a new bug since they reset goodwood?
There is definitely some problems going on with their server regarding the leaderboards updating peoples times set in the last day or so.
I've just seen that the race B time I set with the Supra on Friday night (1:59.962 which only updated on my friend-list and did not show on the LB) is now gone for some reason and my time has reverted back to the first one I set with the AMG GT3 (2:00.526 which is the time the LB was stuck on) and I'm not happy about that as the Supra lap was hard bloody work for me. :(

Tonight’s Daily Race Lobby is now open for anyone who wants to join us, we start at 9pm. 2 runs of each Daily Race and 3 Bonus Races at the end. Just send me a Friend request on PSN so you can get into the room.

A race cheaters screwed others in B and C race, great. Maybe poly d has a penalty for that, lol
Certainly spoiled things a bit in last nights Race A. I would have got 3rd place, but everyone got dropped back one place due to @iou90kant going from 10th place, and parked by the side of Lavant corner, to taking 1st place. I doubt even Lewis Hamilton could manage that....

But woke up this morning and got on with it, new day and all that, first race: Victory! Certainly made the victory that much sweeter, that and laughing for 4 laps straight after the 2nd and 1st placed drivers messed up the chicane, with one spinning out left and the other flying off to the right. Synchronised Crashing for the next olympics, anyone?

Race B has worked out well for me too, although I have yet to take 1st place, routinely coming in 2nd and 3rd. I think my qualifying time is just not on par with what I can achieve in the race, I often gain 5 - 6 places from 8th. If I could qualify 6th, that would put 1st place within reach...

Ok i saw the pole guy has 15th written on his door and i started 8th and it was written 2nd for me?

What is it?

Well, it wasn't 15th, it was 15, it wasn't 2nd, it was 2. Just a racing number the game assigns. On a grid of your peers, ie the same DR, it's generally in sequence. Some claim it's where the game thinks you will finish. On a mixed grid it's complete fantasy. The numbers are assigned as I recall based on your DR points, but it's assigned alphabetically, so someone like me, a DR/D can be assigned a lower number than a DR/B. When I was on DR1, I was once or twice given the number 1. Doesn't mean I'm expected to win against DR/A and Bs . Sven has explained it before, but the explanation has probably been archived.

You must have been higher than 1 DR to get number 1, DR 9 would certainly get you door number 1. It's reverse alphabetically. Although it depends how PD sorts 1 and 10000. Normally the shorter string comes first in alphabetical order, so in reverse it should come after, thus 10000 should get a higher (that is closer to 1) door number than 1. But as it's clearly bugged anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if 1 gets door number 1 and 10000 door number 2.

Anyway it means little, got to finish top half to earn DR. Even when everyone is above 10K DR (and thus sorted correctly) beating your door number still doesn't guarantee DR gains, but it does sort of show your expected finish position based on DR.

For anyone who's interested, I just went to a time trial for a bit of practice for this coming weeks Race A in the Hyundai, not sure how to get better quality video but here's my first one

Lap1 - 1:40.950
Lap2 - 1:40.227
Lap3 - 1:39.107
Lap4 - 1:38.308

No idea if those are good times but I can definitely do with more practice, and have no idea what car it will be either, but you can sort of see my process of learning the track and car but experimenting lines and gears

Got a few wins and fun races in a mixed field last night at Goodwood. Going to take forever to get up to the 90-something victory trophy though, if I can only do a handful of races each week :indiff:

The last race was a disaster though. Starting 4th I got a decent start and got my nose alongside before T1. Thought I'd chance it and try to make the move stick, hugging the inside of T1. Should have been easily possible to be clean here, nice and wide corner and the cars aren't fully up to speed yet so plenty of grip, but the guy in 3rd was having none of it. Repeatedly hit me, forcing me off on the inside. Everytime I drifted back on track he'd turn in again and hit me. Then when I do get back on he drives off the other side and lands me with a 4s penalty. My move wasn't exactly brilliant, but his reaction was totally over the top dirty.

Annoying, as I'd had loads of clean and fun battles every other race. Goodwood is a great track, if the right drivers show up.....

Question?

For those who have lead laps, are you finding yourself losing time? Two races in a row this morning, I was WAY off my practice pace.

In the second race at Suzuka, when I was leading (in the McLaren 650 GR3), I passed the line on lap two with a 2:00.9. I think to myself. Ok, keep this pace and you'll be ok. I do a really nice mistake free 3rd lap, 2:01.4+ and I thought to myself, why? Where did I lose all that time?

Is it just me?

I was consistently lapping 2:00.4-2:00.5 in practice

Sometimes there's nothing you can do if a driver refuses to get passed without contact. Fortunately those guys tend to be **** drivers and if you can get them to try to block you in an awkward spot on the entry to a corner they can end up all out of shape and make for an easy pass on the exit or just drive themselves off the track, I like to hit em with a flash of the hazard lights when I manage that.

Race C... What a joke hardly anyone know how to drive the car around the track course. Most cant handle the speed. Nothing is unlimited as
they think it is so. Stay last and get clean drive. Also enjoy to drive around.

How do we load ghost replays to practice qualy runs?
To view a top 10 replay, go into a qualifying session and view the top 10 times. Click one and you get the option to 'Load Ghost'. That's what you need. After that just make sure ghosts are displaying and it will show that one as well as your own fastest time.

For anyone outside of the top 10 you do indeed need them to share their replay.
As explained by watto79 .... Here you go !

If anyone would like me to create a Daily Race C guide, I will try to do so this evening. It looks like it will be a fuel saving race, which will likely provide less fun than this week's Daily Race C combination. At least strategy seems to be important.

As a reminder, I created a Sardegna B circuit guide in the Gr4 Jag last week if this still helps:

Goodwood is a great track, if the right drivers show up.....

For all of the complaining we do about certain tracks, most are good, but the quality of the drivers is paramount. I admit to not being the best, but I'm willing to let clearly faster drivers go. Unless I'm leading...on the last lap...and they get physical.

Question?

For those who have lead laps, are you finding yourself losing time? Two races in a row this morning, I was WAY off my practice pace.

I don't think it's you. In my last 2 wins at Suzuka, I've not been close to my qualifying time. In the Ford GT, I slowed down & was more deliberate in order to not make a mistake. In the Corvette, laps 2-4 were withing a second of each other. But they were 2 seconds slower than qualifying.

I really hate a fuel saving race. Maybe I could play with fuel trim & sacrifice power. But I'll need to spend all day testing to see the fuel burn & tire degradation to come up with strategy. Might be a good day for some people to tackle this week's dailies one more time for a win if the top people are practicing for next week.

Today I've done 2 race A's, 1st was brilliant myself and pole were side by through almost every turn(not the chicane ) he got the win but great battle, next race... Complete filth... Rammed into the chicane wall harder than Chris Brown hit Rhi Rhi :banghead: made my way back to mid pack where I'd just get nudged wide onto the grass or hit into under braking, SRs now gone from 97 to 83 :boggled:

Not happy with Race2, how are these people 99 SR??? Anyeay thanks to something Galvador something from the UK for the great Race 1

Did a little bit of testing for tomorrow’s A and C. The 911 was by far the easiest car to drive around Sardegna, it did that on its first lap, the others got 2 or 3 each. :)

I didn’t know what to test for race A so I just did a bunch, who knows what it will actually end up being.
